Taking bets: How long ’til Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson cries “RAAAACISM?”

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 1, 2010 01:16 AM

Oh, dear. Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson apparently believes Guam is going to “tip over” from overpopulation and “capsize.” Snort-inducing moment: The response from Adm. Robert Willard, commander of the Navy’s Pacific Fleet, who pauses ever so slightly before politely informing Johnson that “we don’t anticipate that.”

Instant classic:

Taking bets: How long before race hustler Rep. Johnson cries “RAAACISM!” to deflect questions about his sanity and mental fitness for office?

The over-population problem Rep. Johnson alludes to might, in fact, better apply to the continental US… we are the fastest growing [population] in the industrialized world. If I were him, I’d be much more worried about what is happening right here at home first.

Likewise the effect of overgrazing by imported Philippine Carabao have been ignored. So why is it that this Congresscritter is concerned about the ecological impact of moving some 2,000 Marines and their dependents and support personnel to Guam and why at this late date? Heck there are more Japanese tourists on Guam on any given day than that.

Who’s paying him to be concerned, since he’s never been all that concerned before.

The US military deploys and re-deploys all the time, and when the local infrastructure is unable to cope with an influx of troops, the military either upgrades the existing support structure or builds it to suite the need.

The military does not just throw thousands of personnel into someplace and leave. There is all sorts of planning that takes place, from the operational need to warplanning, from deployment assessments to troop numbers, from dependent placement to NEO planning, etc. Moving a small city is not easy but the military does it all the time, and moving to Guam would be easy when compared to moving, say, 17,000 troops from the 101st into the barren wide-open Saudi desert. In a few weeks back in ’91, the waterless sea of sand was changed into a fully functional “city.”

Logistics and support planning (the ‘tail”) of military operations is key to an effective fighting force. You can bet PACAOM has looked at all the options, evaluated what is required to support the troops and is prepared.

It is an embarrassment that the Admiral would be subject to some ignorant questioning by an enormously buffoonish inquisitor.

For those of you who have never traveled to the West or Southwest, cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings, in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing over that area. For some reason the cattle will not step on the “guards,” probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails.

A few months ago, President Obama received a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado. Because Colorado ranchers had protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, he ordered the Secretary of the Interior to fire half of the guards immediately.

Before the Interior Secretary could respond and presumably straighten him out, Vice-President, Joe Biden, intervened with a request that before any guards were fired, they be given six months of retraining.

Passed on to you without further comment….

In mild defense of the only thing the “Congressman” memorized, neither figure is the length, so you couldn’t deduce the area from just that. Congressional District 4 Hank Johnson

This district in my home state of Georgia has been Gerrymandered at last three times in the last 12 years.

This is an incredibly reverse racist district with this as just one recent piece of evidence: http://www.ajc.com/news/dekalb/2-million-verdict-sought-422243.html

The notorious national embarrassment known as Cynthia McKinney literally owned this House Seat for approximately 16 years. McKinney quickly went to work having major traffic thoroughfares, post offices and schools named after her. Those blights on our district still exist.

The remarkable Republican takeover of the State House after 130 years of isolation allowed a couple of geographical changes to this district. A black female Republican candidate held this seat for two years when she ill advisedly chose to run for US Senator after her rookie 2-year stint in congress.

Then Hank Johnson came in and ousted the venerable Ms McKinney the last two elections after the local electorate was worn totally down from her antics during the Bash Bashing years. Last word from McKinney was she was temporarily held in an Israeli jail for violating the blockade of GAZA trying to export non-allowable supplies. She is a best friend with Madea Benjamin the famous code-pinko, “trust funder” who has never worked an honest employed day of work in her life.

Now we have an excellent female Republican on the primary ticket by the name of

    Liz Carter

    http://www.lizcarterforcongress.com/

She will need incredible backing and financial support to win the primary and any general election she may be fortunate enough to compete in. I urge any female conservative candidate supporters, people whom like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman take a look at this candidate and give her any and all support she deserves.

HI ARIZONANEANDERTHAL–#10. Good list of the real racist “caucuses” in our Congress. They don’t represent the American People–they “represent” their special interest groups as they get rich at taxpayer expense. And they act like the participants in the Alice In Wonderland Caucus Race event–when in fear, when in doubt–yell and scream, and run about!
    ***
It’s a good thing a WHITE CONGRESSIONAL CONGRESS doesn’t exist–it would be tarred as racist if it represented the largest “ethnic” group in the U.S.A. And it would be pointless–we don’t hate anybody, and aren’t out to “redistribute” (aka STEAL) other people’s wealth, work, and futures.

If Guam was going to tip over from too many people, I’m sure it would have happened during the Vietnam war when we had hundreds of B-52′s and thousand of support personnel on the north end. Not to mention that massive naval station on the south end. Course maybe having one on each end kept it gently balanced, bobbing on the waves.

How that Admiral kept a straight face I’ll never know. I’m sure I would have made some kind of smart a** comment, like “with all due respect congressman, were you born this stupid or have you been taking lessons from an idiot?”

Sure, this one was particularly funny, since we know no important decision is actually going to be based on it, but it’s hardly unusual. It’s really quite typical of Democrat thinking.

Take AGW, for instance. Or controlling the border by flinging it open. Or saving money by covering more patients.

Democrats are just plain nuts. All of them.

LOL, right. The Congresscritter is stumped over a most basic math exercise.

(Sigh) For the benefit of Rep. Johnson… Here’s one way you can derive a reasonable first-pass blind estimate: 20 miles in length (from memory here) x avg width 9.5 miles ([12+7]/2) = 190 miles (square, of course). Which is 492 sqr km. These guesses are reasonably close to the actual area estimates derived through formal mapping/surveying (544 km sqr – per CIA Factbook online). Difference between the two estimates is about 10% overall, so it is a useful ballpark estimate.

I understand that we have a system where the military answers to the civilians. Being a Marine vet and a lover of this nation, I like that system. And I understand that not everyone elected to serve has worn a uniform in the past. I also don’t have to much of a problem with that.

But is it to much to ask that the civilians on the Armed services committees that the military has to answer to have some clue of what they are talking about? Why is it that when it comes to committees that deal with the security of this nation, armed services, intelligence, etc, we allow complete idiots oversight of things they have no experience with and no clue about?

And to make matters worse, this man also sits on the judiciary committee. So not only does he have a hand in the security of this nation directly, he has a hand in what kind of judges we get among other things.

    According to the house website:

The jurisdiction of the The House Committee on the Judiciary as follows:

1.The judiciary and judicial proceedings, civil and criminal.
    2.Administrative practice and procedure.
    3.Apportionment of Representatives.
    4.Bankruptcy, mutiny, espionage, and counterfeiting.
    5.Civil liberties.
    6.Constitutional amendments.
    7.Criminal law enforcement.
8.Federal courts and judges, and local courts in the Territories and possessions.
    9.Immigration policy and non-border enforcement.
    10.Interstate compacts generally.
    11.Claims against the United States.
12.Members of Congress, attendance of members, Delegates, and the Resident Commissioner; and their acceptance of incompatible offices.
    13.National penitentiaries.
14.Patents, the Patent and Trademark Office, copyrights, and trademarks.
    15.Presidential succession.
16.Protection of trade and commerce against unlawful restraints and monopolies.
17.Revision and codification of the Statutes of the United States.
    18.State and territorial boundary lines.
19.Subversive activities affecting the internal security of the United States.

That we elect men like this, and give them such responsibility, is frightening. I mourn for my fellow citizens who are to lazy to do the minimum ammount of research before walking into a voting booth.
