Christ the Lord is risen today

The Resurrection, El Greco
Happy Easter to all of my readers of the Christian faith — and Happy Passover to all of my readers of the Jewish faith.
Here is President Obama’s “holiday greeting.”
Many military families have extra reason to celebrate this weekend:
In Tennessee, troops from the 702nd Engineer Company returned in time for Easter.
In Alabama, more than 100 soldiers with the Huntsville-based 375th Engineer Company return home from a year’s deployment to Iraq in time for Easter weekend.
From the Daily Mail in London, a nurse’s story of Christian persecution:
Shirley Chaplin has worn a crucifix since the age of 16. And except for the time it was removed for a few hours when she had an operation, she has never taken it off in 38 years.
It is the core symbol of her faith and a treasured constant. It has helped comfort others and has frequently given succour to the 54-year-old nurse in her own moments of need.
…So the notion of taking it off, much less losing it, is unthinkable and leaves her feeling horribly dislocated. Worse still, being forced to take it off, ‘would violate my faith’.
That, though, is precisely what did happen to Mrs Chaplin, a ward sister who has devoted her life to her patients. Or at least that is what the bosses at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital tried to do. They told her to hide or remove it because they classed it as jewellery, rather than an essential manifestation of her beliefs. She refused.
Last week, her claim that she has faced discrimination made headlines when it reached an employment tribunal in Exeter. The tribunal’s judgment is expected on Tuesday.
Nigeria has been wracked by the massacre of Christians by Muslim sects. There will be a rally in NYC next week in support of the country’s persecuted Christians:
In response to a series of recent attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria, the Institute on Religion and Democracy has joined with the editors of the journal First Things and other organizations to sponsor a rally of solidarity for Nigeria’s Christians.
On Wednesday, April 7, religious, civic and human rights leaders of many faiths and backgrounds will gather at Second Avenue and 44th Street in front of the Nigerian Consulate in New York City to raise their voices of conscience about the continuing massacres of Christians as well as the ongoing persecution of non-Muslim minorities by jihadists in Nigeria and elsewhere across the globe.
The event will feature a press conference from 4:30-5 p.m., immediately followed by the rally that will run until 7 p.m. For more information, please visit the web site for the rally: http://april7rally.wordpress.com

» Barack Obama: Can we call him a Socialist now?

A blessed Easter to you and yours, Michelle.
I remember helping an elderly man recover from pneumonia, back in ’88. In gratitude, he made and gave me a crucifix. Though I am not Catholic, I still have it, today, and occasionally wear it.
Happy Easter, Michelle, and to everyone here.
Happy Easter.
Christos Anesti!
Alithos O Kyrios!
He is risen indeed!
I am so thankful that I have my faith. These days it seems to really help with what our Republic is going through.
A Blessed Easter and a Happy Passover to all. A special prayer goes to our wonderful military and their families.
God Bless Us All!
L
Oddly enough, this didn’t make the news. But on the same day, a California guy’s Prius allegedly had the accelerator stuck and that did make national news.
So what’s more important to the MSM? The slaughter of Christians or hurting the reputation of Government Motors’ competition?
15:12 Now if Christ is being preached as raised from the dead, how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead?
15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
15:14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is futile and your faith is empty.
15:15 Also, we are found to be false witnesses about God, because we have testified against God that he raised Christ from the dead, when in reality he did not raise him, if indeed the dead are not raised.
15:16 For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised.
15:17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is useless; you are still in your sins.
15:18 Furthermore, those who have fallen asleep in Christ have also perished.
15:19 For if only in this life we have hope in Christ, we should be pitied more than anyone.
15:20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
15:21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man.
15:22 For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
15:23 But each in his own order: Christ, the firstfruits; then when Christ comes, those who belong to him.
15:24 Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when he has brought to an end all rule and all authority and power.
15:25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
15:26 The last enemy to be eliminated is death.
15:27 For he has put everything in subjection under his feet. But when it says “everything” has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the one who put everything in subjection to him.
15:28 And when all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the one who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.
15:29 Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, then why are they baptized for them?
15:30 Why too are we in danger every hour?
15:31 Every day I am in danger of death! This is as sure as 18 my boasting in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
15:32 If from a human point of view I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what did it benefit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
15:34 Sober up as you should, and stop sinning! For some have no knowledge of God – I say this to your shame!
For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.
Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in vain and your faith has been in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ—whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised. If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have died£ in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
Happy Easter Everyone.
Again, I would like to wish you and all your readers a very Blessed and Happy Easter…
May the Glory
and the Promise
of this Joyous time of year
Bring Peace
and Happiness to you
and those you hold most dear,
And may Christ,
Our Risen Saviour,
always be there by your side
To Bless you
most abundantly
and be your Loving Guide.
Happy Easter or Happy Passover to all God loving peoples around the world.
Anything that is anti-America, damn them all.
********************
I could not force myself to watch the video of the usurper in charge…that thing turns my stomach, the sight or sounds that emanate from this fraud that has plagued our once great country.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
We will not give up.
He is risen indeed!!!
Thank you Michelle, and Happy Easter and Hapy Resurrection Day to you and your family and all Christians here, and Happy Passover of the spirit of Death and Exodus from Egypt to all of our Jewish friends too!
But I couldn’t watch more then twenty seconds of Dear Leader’s address. Watching his eyes told me that once again, as is his practice, he was reading someone else’s words from a teleprompter, and had no concern or consideration of the real feelings of the American People!
How Firm a foundation, ye Saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in his excellent word!
What more can he say than to you he hath said,
Who unto the Savior, who unto the Savior,
Who unto the Savior for refuge have fled?
Fear not, I am with thee, oh be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, I’ll never, no never,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake!
How Firm a Foundation, vs. 1, 3, and 7.
It is a long song. These are my favorite verses. A joyous Easter to all, and remember, the Lord loves us all.
Even when we honestly don’t deserve it.
“And he departed from our sight that we might return to our heart, and there find Him. For He departed, and behold, He is here.”
– St. Augustine
Dear President Dumbo, today is NOT a holiday, it is a holy day. But, since you do not go to church, I assume that you do not fully grasp this concept, or for that matter, many other concepts either.
Hi is risen!
*A Happy, Blessed Easter to all; He is Risen!
*May God continue to bless our beloved country, and may he someday provide salvation for the Hidden Imam in the White House.
Blessed Easter. He is Risen!
Freedom isn’t free…whether it is the freedom guaranteed by our Constitution or freedom from SIN!! Someone pays for those freedoms. Thank you troops!! And thank you God!!
“We Shall Behold Him” sung by Sandi Patty
Thank you, Michelle. A blessed Easter to you and yours, and to everyone who reads/comments here.
Several of you have quoted scripture, to which I can only add a heartfelt amen!
I know that my Redeemer liveth…!
King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Hallelujah!
To my fellow Christians, have a Blessed Easter! A Blessed Passover to all of the Jewish faith!
Happy, I was thinking the same thing. As I was waiting for Mass to begin, I was thinking how so many of us bemoan the loss of our freedoms, but do little to change it. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice to free us from our sins, so it’s up to each and every one of us to do our part, no matter how small. Those in our military are still putting their lives on the line, and some making the ultimate sacrifice, so I made the decision to do as much as I can to secure freedom for my children. I’m done with being on the sidelines.
Some years ago I heard Steve Green sing I Know That My Redeemer Liveth with the Young Messiah tour; this isn’t from the tour, but the audio quality is pretty good. Many good performances of this song are out there, but his remains one of my favorites.
And a happy Resurrection Day to you.
We sang the Hallelujah Chorus in church this morning with a nice orchestra brought in for the event. Did’nt sound quite like your link, but I suspect the Lord was pleased.
With all that’s going on in the country and world these days, I would be lost without my faith. Jesus is indeed King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And He shall reign for ever and ever!! Barry Obowma…not so much.
Jesus is coming back, but they won’t nail him to a tree this time…
Whatever happens in this fallen world ultimately doesn’t much matter. I know how the story ends. Jesus wins.
Therefore let us all take courage and live every day with this truth in our hearts. No matter what may come, Jesus is Lord.
A blessed Easter to you and your family, Michelle, and to everyone here.
He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluja!
Happy Easter and Passover!
Easter starts with the greatest of suffering to save all of mankind, and ends with the joy of eternal life for those who believe. That is the message for all who worship the Lord and Savior.
Happy Easter, everyone!
Have a beautiful day in the Lord!
This is the day the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Woke up this morning to this. A blessed Easter to all.

Happy Resurrection day!
I was going to accept Jesus as my Savior but there was some uncertainty about his birth certificate. Some say Bethlehem but others say Nazareth. So which is it and why hasn’t he produced the right one?
We have a tape of “Ben-Hur”, that we are watching, this afternoon. It’s been a custom for years, to watch this film on Easter. Dinner is ham with pineapple.
I put my faith in my Saviour Jesus Christ, my fellow man, not so much. Happy Easter my blog brethren and sisteren!
Aloha, and may each of you, friends all, bask in the joy of the risen Christ.
A blessed Passover to my cousins.
Oh, yeah, Pineapple Ham, Lau Lau, Chicken Long-rice, baked yams w/brown sugar and pecans, Sam-See Min, and croissants.
He conquored death that we may have eternal life. Happy Easter to all.
He is not a dead man nailed to a tree; He is living amongst us, lighting our way.
That is our Pesach gift.
Oh, and I read the book–He wins.
Amen! Spacey!
Our family worships a living savior, raised from the dead! May our Creators’ love be with all of you today and alway.
Happy Easter and Passover to all.

You do realize that Michelle Obama herself said that Barack’s
“home country” is … Kenya:
But I’ll use your little snark as a teaching point.
If one believes in the Biblical account of Jesus Christ, then one needs to believe the Biblical account of Adam, because the Biblical account of Jesus Christ includes:
Mock if you will, I’ll not argue with you.
God mockers have much to fear.
Jesus was affirmed by a higher authority.
If it’s man’s approval you are seeking, then the perfect Lamb of God was selected and inspected beginning on Palm Sunday and for 3 days following and He was found without blemish, making Him the perfect sacrifice once for all time and for all of mankind.
We can only pray that Obama will meet the risen Lord on his personal road to Damascus. I can guarantee you, he would never be the same.
Hope our lovely Hostess and all my fellow commentators’ Easter/Passover celebrations were as blessed as mine.
If Death and Sin have been conquered for eternity, what or who in this world should we fear? That is a good thing to remember particularly in these times.
All blessings to everyone.
I just read the transcript of our President’s “holiday greeting”, and I am starting to agree with him that while he is in office the USA is NOT a Christian nation.
I hope everyone here had a beautiful Easter Sunday, filled with peace, love and family, and wish that those warm feelings continue for you and yours throughout the year.

Regardless of what Obama says, we are still predominantly a Christian nation.
How can I say that?
That is all well and good, redpill, but have as our elected leader perhaps the most irreligious President in our entire history.
Compare, please, to a 1996 Easter address by former President Clinton:
President Obama called on us all to reflect on the “eternal” values at the core of each religion: work, health, education, and community.
I cannot believe that he is ignorant of the real meaning of Easter — the resurrection of Jesus. But even Clinton acknowledged it.
I agree with you that we, Americans, are a Christian people; but in Obama’s hands we are not a Christian nation.
“If you deny my Father before men, I will deny you in Heaven.” Probably didn’t quote that exactly right, but woe to the fool who denies Christ! He is risen! He is risen indeed!
Bless all you posters here and thanks for letting me get my two cents worth in.

Given what Obama has said about salvation, it’s pretty clear that his faith is the Socialist Gospel, not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Still, his false faith does not mean that we are not a Christian nation.
It just means many Christians did not heed the advice of the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and we are now paying the consequences of their poor judgement:

I want to add that I, too, have confessed with my mouth that Jesus is LORD, and continue to do so. I believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead. Dear ITookTheRedPill & Mts Edge – Thank you both – Happy Easter!!
