Rejected RNC solicitation of the day

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 5, 2010 01:48 PM

A small number of readers have e-mailed to complain that I criticize the GOP too much. The vast majority of readers, however, have been disgusted with the Beltway Republican (un)leadership for a long time. And the rejected RNC solicitation forms keep coming in. There are so many that I’ve created a whole new blog category for them.

Here’s today’s entry from reader Mike:

I’m sure the latest race-card lamentation of Michael Steele will result in another avalanche of rejected RNC donor forms.

How much longer will the hemorrhaging continue?

Speaking of the Stupid Party, left-wing radical Republican Dede Scozzafava is writing a memoir.

Wonder if she has asked her Beltway cheerleader Newt Gingrich to write the forward.

***

Touche’:

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs had some choice words today for Michael Steele after the RNC chairman said that being black gives him and President Obama less margin for error as public figures.

“That’s a fairly silly comment to make,” Gibbs told reporters. “I think Michael Steele’s problem isn’t the race card, it’s the credit card.”

Newt seems to write too many forwards for too many leftwing individuals who should be considered his enemies-or are they?

What amazes me is that the rumblings by Sen. Kyl against Steele didn’t take place until Steele’s mishandling of Strippergate went public via AP-Obama. They apparently haven’t reading or hearing what donors to the GOP have been saying (or writing) for months.

This is a place that Mr. Steele should not have visited. From the White House down it’s been the excuse of last resort. Steele is a spineless, self-enriching loser and would be even if he were white, Chinese or Mexican. It’s the loser part that keeps him in trouble, not that he is black.

As much as we like to poke fun at him, you do have to give Gibbs credit for that response. The only problem is that it is equally applicable to President Obama. And his credit card charges are significantly higher than those being rung up by the RNC at stripshows.

Focus on getting the deadwood out of Congress. If we get a conservative Congress by 2013, whether or not the President is a conservative or a RINO won’t matter so much as getting Obama’s veto pen out of the Oval Office.

Any RINO who fights a genuinely conservative Congress will quickly find himself getting impeached. No friends. RINO’s have no spine, so they won’t take that path.

After an early success and the combination Medicare/government shutdown debacle, the GOP caved to the Democrats on spending policy. During the Bush years Dems control over lower court nominations.

I chuckled at Gibbs’ joke, and agree that Obama has a bigger credit card, and a bigger problem, but none of that excuses presiding over waste and abuse. Maybe not fraud yet, but when we are in the political minority, we have no donor money to waste – period! We also have no moral capital to waste, and Conservative Christians like me are discouraged and embarrassed by the stuff they are allowing on Michael Steele’s watch. Because he’s in charge, he needs to move on, and take the heat with him. Maybe he can find another venue to serve in later, but for now, it’s adios, amigo!

None of us really understand the machine that is in place in a national organization the size of a political one. Had he been smart he’d have gone in there with guns blazing (figuratively) and fired about 60% of them. It’s the higher level wonks that are embedded with the devil and they have to go. I haven’t given a dime since they hung (figuratively) in there with McCainasty. If they keep up the barrage of donation requests I’ll simply register as Independent. I’m sick of seeing the $$ from donors going in the garbage or shredder.

These outrages evidently covered up the fact that there is no “there” there when it comes to Michael Steele. The last year or so has proven that…

The longer he stays simply drives home the fact that GOP leadership is utterly clueless about leadership and the future of the nation. “The other socialist party in America” isn’t a winning slogan either…

It IS a fairly stupid comment to make. I wonder who gave this line to Gibbs since he isn’t smart enough to come up with it on his own.

As to his credit card, Steele had BETTER worry about it given the current situation with donors.
