When Nancy Pelosi thinks of the Demcare monstrosity, she doesn’t want you to see a crap sandwich. Or a Trojan Horse. Or a mountain of red tape. Or an ocean of debt.
She wants you to think of…a refrigerator:
The Speaker compared it to the enactment of social security, medicare and the civil rights act.
And while she said it may not be perfect, it’s a bold step in the right direction.
”It’s like the back of the refrigerator. You see all these wires and the rest,” said Pelosi. “All you need to know is, you open the door. The light goes on. You open this door, you go through a whole different path, in terms of access to quality, affordable healthcare for all Americans.”
Yeah, except the transparency light was busted.
And only union lobbyists and bought-off wheeler-dealers could open the door.
And all those criss-crossed wires powering the Demcare fridge are causing an electrical fire that will burn our wallets to a crisp.
Yep, she is indeed an embarrassment to women, says Neo-Neocon: “I don’t mean to be anti-female, but Pelosi’s suggestion strikes me as something only a woman could have come up with. I have that attitude myself to most mechanical and/or electrical gadgetry and appliances, including computers: don’t tell me how it works, just make it work. But for a supposed servant of the people to use such a metaphor to refer to a bill that affects us all in such important ways is outrageously and offensively paternalistic (or should I say “maternalistic?”) and flies in the face of what the relationship between the citizens and Congress in this country is meant to be.”
