Michelle Obama heads to Mexico
The First Lady is headed to Mexico City to meet with her counterpart there and discuss “youth engagement.”
WaPo’s fashion writer Robin Givhan performs her usual East Wing press release service disguised as journalism:
In embarking on her first solo trip, Obama is following an agenda that her staff will describe only in the broadest of terms: It is meant to underscore “the president’s commitment to advancing mutual interests, mutual respect and mutual responsibility between nations and peoples around the world.”
But in the days before her departure, the East Wing got more specific and more ambitious, declaring the trip “the kickoff of the first lady’s international agenda,” with a focus on “youth engagement.” Most of the world’s population is under the age of 25, said an administration official, and “as a society we have a responsibility to support and nurture them.”
Obama will be in Mexico City for a total of about 40 hours and is not expected to travel outside the capital. She will speak to young people — from primary-school students to recent college graduates — encouraging them to become active in their communities and take responsibility for their own future.
The Obama White House, over the course of a year and a half, has been particularly attentive to Mexico, and the first lady’s trip underscores the breadth and depth of this country’s relationship with its southern neighbor. According to the White House, 1 million people cross the U.S.-Mexico border every day and $1 billion in trade passes through that border every 24 hours.
When President Obama traveled to Mexico in April 2009, he noted: “There is a reason why the first visit that I had with a foreign leader after my election was with President [Felipe] Calderón. It was a reminder, as John F. Kennedy said, that the bonds between our two countries cannot be broken.”
In February of this year, Mexican first lady Margarita Zavala visited Michelle Obama in the White House, where the two reportedly discussed obesity — Obama’s signature issue and a problem that also plagues Mexico — as well as diabetes, addictions and undocumented minors in the United States.
Mrs. Obama is on record supporting the principles of illegal alien shamnesty.
This will be her first trip south of the border.
Too bad she has no interest in showing “engagement” with American families plagued by far bigger problems than obesity — like the Arizona ranchers and their families, widows, and children besieged by uncontrolled border violence.

I assume she will have massive protection…hundreds of Secret Service, bullet-proof car, millions of dollars worth of security. It is a dangerous place down there! But heck, it is only taxpayer money. No big deal.

I saw this in the beginning of the article (emphasis mine):
It’s funny because I was recently taking to someone about the fact that the media is pushing the argument against Obamacare to an issue of “States’ Rights.” While I agree that it is, I believe it is being pushed in that direction so the left can compare it to the slavery issue. I’ve been reading a bit of information about the Revolutionary times and the don’t argue for States’ Rights; they argue for the States and their citizens to have self-determination. I was just saying we need to use the term self-determination because the phrase States’ Rights has been so tarnished. The leftists are beating us to the punch by co-opting it for their socialist purposes. More Orwellian perversion of the language — there is no self-determination in socialist societies!

If the mexicans here illegally would go back to mexico and vote for the next communist president for their country, they too could have a workers eutopia like el norte americano. But like so many other poor nations, they would rather suck off the teat of the american worker than build their own nations economy. And let’s be honest, we Americans like our slave labor as long as they don’t get uppity. And keeping them illegal keeps them from getting uppity.

HMMmmm….SO Mexico has a big problem with childhood obesity (most of their population being children). Only in the last few years have we been hearing how America has a big problem with childhood obesity. Could it be that America’s new problem with Childhood Obesity is really all the fat Mexican illegal alien children?
Is she also traveling to, her words, Barack’s “home country” of Kenya?
Is it her job, like Barry’s, to bash America on her “good will” visits?
Notice, too, in the photo, M. Obama is suspending a ring around her body without touching it. Amazing! Is there anything she and her husband can’t do?

Never forget…Michelle Obama is just as radical and dangerous as her husband. She is just being packaged as a nice, sweet First Lady who wants our kids to lose weight. There is a lot of stuff going on with her behind the scenes…mark my words. She is making her move.

How’s about let the world take care of their own children? As a society, we have a responsibility to let parents do the child-rearing. As a society we have a responsibility to raise our own children to be self-supporting adults.
And if you’re approaching the age of 25 and still need “support and nurture” then “society” has failed its responsibility to you.

That picture of Mobama makes me think of the old song “Bertha Butt Boogie” by the Jimmy Castor Bunch.
So if obesity is such a problem in America, why do we constantly get pelted about hunger in America? Which is it…hunger or obesity? Are fat folks hungry?
And it is, after all, our benevolent government who continues to promote/advertise free meals, food stamps, and the much-to-do meddling in the school criteria with the lunch program.
Manufactured welfare and government intervention, a perpetual cycle.
Paired with the Obamas’ radical views and admiration of socialism and the press release that Michelle is going to encourage young people to be engaged, it reminds me of the recruiting of young people in the past to political causes.
The obesity in Mexico’s children is due to fat/carbs. Mountains of it and when they come here they’ve never seen such cheap fat/carbs so they eat more of it.
I know many in CA and TX where Mom stills makes refried beans with lard.
Just like kids here, they’ll pick a fatty carb combination long before they’ll eat a celery stick and wash it down with a can of coke with 18 tsp. of sugar in it (don’t quoke me on the sugar because I don’t remember the exact amount but it’s obscene).
Of the two, Muchelle is the natural born citizen, we have to let her back in.
