Obama mocks, we remember
President Obama derided the Tea Party activists at a Miami fund-raiser tonight. You keep laughing, chump:
He says he’s been a little amused over the past couple of days when people at the rallies complained about taxes. Quoting the president: “You would think they’d be saying thank you.”
Yeah? Thanks a lot:
By all estimates, the budget outlook is daunting. The latest projections of the Congressional Budget Office reckon the cumulative deficits under President Obama’s policies to be $12.7 trillion from 2009 to 2020. In 2020 the estimated annual deficit will be $1.25 trillion, or 5.6 percent of the economy (gross domestic product), despite assumed “full employment” of 5 percent. And the deficits get larger with every succeeding year. Given unavoidable uncertainties, these precise projections are likely to prove wrong. But their basic message seems incontestable: there’s a large and growing gap between the government’s promises and the existing tax base.
How big a tax increase would be needed to close the gap? Well, huge. To put things in perspective, all federal taxes (income, payroll, and excise) averaged 18.1 percent of GDP from 1970 to 2009. Under CBO’s assumptions about Obama’s policies, taxes in 2020 would already be slightly higher, at 19.6 percent of GDP. But on top of that, there’d need to be a further tax boost approaching a third to balance the budget, because spending is projected at 25.2 percent of GDP. Needless to say, this would be the largest tax burden in U.S. history, even including World War II.
Like the Tea Party sign says: “We’ll remember in November.”

There are absolutely several ways to choose from.
Short story:
My SS card went thru a serious battle with the washing machine and lost. So I go to th SS website and it gives a list of items to choose from to send in to get a replacement card. I sent my ORIGINAL birth certificate and the letter I got back said…paraphrasing a little here but… wait, I got the letter (thought i had thrown it away)…. ok… heres the exact text of the letter I received back:
“You have not given us the document(s) we need to show identity. Please provide EVIDENCE of identity for application of your replacement card. BIRTH CERTIFICATES ARE CONSIDERED EVIDENCE OF AGE ONLY. If submitting by mail… blah blah blah”
So… I go up to the place the 2nd time with said BC and my DL. I’m talking with the lady and I said to her:
“Hey, a BC is all Obama needed to be Prez, but it’s not good enough for a replacement SS card?”
She said… after a little pause…
“Good point”. ??
WTF??

Question is, when do socialists decide they’re done? Do they look at their legislation, regulation and tyrannical status and just decide that they’ve got enough control of the people and their environment? Me thinks not. They’ll always continue to constrict human behavior hoping that just a little more control or a few more taxes will achieve their twisted form of human perfection. They’re all implacable, and whether they’re going the same or different speeds, their direction takes them to the same hell.

To be honest, I don’t care about the eligibility issue. It’s too late to do anything about it. However, I would like the SC to clarify exactly what constitutes eligibility before we start having “undocumented” candidates declaring they’re eligible.
I have a problem with the transparency. Why keep all those records secret if there was nothing damaging in them? Who paid for the education they crow so loudly about?

The first president I remember is Eisenhower. That’s 12 presidents in my life. I have never, never heard a president in my life time stand up and denigrate and mock people of his country who are exercising their freedom of speech and redress of grievances. The man is a fool and should take his little stand up comedy act to Letterman or Leno and let a mature adult represent all the people.

The main reason it’s a non-starter is because the downside is pretty steep. Let’s say the GOP makes a big deal out of it and demands his BC. Many suspect he doesn’t actually have one and that’s the reason he hasn’t released it. Well, he let’s the pressure build and at the eleventh hour he produces a genuine bonafide long form birth certificate. The credibility of anyone who doubted him is now shattered. That’s why I don’t care about eligibility. Beside, if we can prove he’s ineligible after he’s out of office, there’s a good argument that any bill he signed is negated. There’s great risk and little reward for pursuing that course now.
I have no problem with bashing him for the secrecy, but despite the fact that I have serious doubts about his eligibility, I’ll choose a path that alllows damage to my opponent with little chance to damage me.
Having said that, I’d like to see a law requiring candidates to be certified as eligible by the SC before the general election.
Phoenix AZ is a case in point regarding the “O-imperial” attitude that is currently on display at local levels.
A heads up. Phoenix AZ voters just a few months ago voted in a short term 2 cent sales tax on groceries. This was done amid oceans of tears about education and number of deserving programs that would suffer without this Tax.
Now comes the corruption: Thursday or Friday of this past week Phoenix announced a $30 Million pay raise for “deserving” city employees. These, it is being said, are “merit increases” awarded under union contract clauses.
Why in the hell doesn’t the City Council tell the Union to “Pound Sand”. I would really like to be a little more explicate in terminology but, sigh, oh well.
Everybody but government employees are belt tightening, losing houses and cars, taking pay cuts and losing jobs and in general taking it in the hindquarters. And, our city fathers just tell us “take this”!!!

You can relax, Obama isn’t going to pull out his real, long-form birth certificate form Hawaii and go “gotcha”…zero chance of that. As I have said before he could have been born in the Lincoln bedroom and he would not be eligible because his father was NEVER a U.S. citizen.
Obama is ineligible in multiple ways, this issue could do for conservatives what talking each new outrage from Obama to death will never do…that’s stop it in it’s tracks…and reverse the damage already done.

Wait until VAT is passed. Prices will soar and more people will suffer, especially the ones living paycheck to paycheck. I guess these people are the so-called “rich” that the “One” has promised to tax only. Of course the revenue will be immediately spent to help their friends.
And the economy will suffer because so many people will just buy much less of everything that is not absolutely necessary.
Very true, Bob. Expect more credit card and loan defaults. People will use their cash, then max out their cards, then declare bankruptcy. We end up with a stagnant depressed economy that even hurts our trade. The left always believe that taxes solve all problems. It doesn’t. Yet, there are many people who think the government is going to offer free entitlements, like Obamacare. VAT will be a disaster unless the congress and states pass an amendment removing the 16th amendment.

Drudge is reporting that Obama is entreating blacks and latinos to get out and vote and surprise everyone with a Dem victory. I suggest that white people begin voting in a principled block, too. Our choice should be the candidate who does not court racial,ethnic, and other special interest groups. Think of it! The first filter is the simple question “Does this guy make a pitch for votes from black, latino, homosexual or other narrow interests?” If so, that candidate is devisive and fractious. Such a candidate is unfit. Toss him. If he panders to whites, flush him. Find the candidates who will pander to the constitution.
