New Orleans beating follow-up: Attackers yelled “Little blonde b*tch,” “f**king faggot,” nothing political

The other day I noted the frenzy of commentary over the assault in New Orleans involving a campaign fund-raising staffer for Louisiana GOP Gov. Bobby Jindal and her boyfriend. Folks were claiming the pair were wearing Palin pins. They were not.
Now, I’m getting a flurry of new e-mails claiming the attack was politically motivated based on more unsourced rumors and this thin, recycled piece on Yahoo! News.
(See here for the Human Events report on a new photo of the victims after the assault that was posted on Facebook.)
Well, here is the police report and here is the latest from victim Joseph Brown:
The boyfriend of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s chief fundraiser says he’s unsure whether protesters were responsible for attacking them April 9 outside a Republican event in the French Quarter. Joseph Brown, 29, told police protesters were outside Brennan’s restaurant during the Louisiana Republican Party event. But most had left about an hour before Brown and Allee Bautsch, 25, left the restaurant. According to a police report obtained by The Associated Press on Friday, Brown said a group of men yelled obscenities and taunted them, but he heard nothing suggesting the attack was politically motivated. Bautsch suffered a broken leg in the attack.
I’m transcribing part of the police report for you:
“Shortly before 10:30pm, Mr. Brown and Ms. Bautsch left the restaurant and began walking towards St. Louis. Street. Mr. Brown noted there were still several protestors loitering in the area, but not nearly the number which had been present earlier. Soon after leaving the restaurant, he heard what he described as ‘cat calls.’ At an unknown point within the 400 block of Royal Street, both Mr. Brown and Ms. Bautsch then crossed from the Brennan’s side of the street to the Supreme Court side of the street. They continued to walk towards St. Louis when Mr. Brown began to hear people behind him scream obscenities. Initially he was not sure if thoese were being directed at him and his girlfriend, or if they were simply the outbursts of drunken revelers. As they neared the intersection, Mr. Brown stated he heard subjects state thing such as, ‘Little blonde bitch,’ ‘You’re a fu**king faggot,’ and ‘You think you’re fu**king special.’ At this point Mr. Brown realized these derogatory terms were being directed at Ms. Bautsch and him. He then requested she begin to walk faster toward the Omni-Royal hotel located at the intersection of St. Louis and Royal. Mr. Brown also recalled the farther they got from the restaurant, the closer these subjects got to them. When they reached the corner of St. Louis and Royal, Mr. Brown and his date turned south on St. Louis. It was at this time that one of the subjects pushed him into the iron gate which surrounds the State Supreme Court. He then fell to the ground, and one of the attackers got on top of him and began to attack him. Mr. Brown stated as he was being pushed to the ground, Ms. Bautsch was also either pushed down or fell down near where he was. As he fought to get his attacker off of him, he heard his girlfriend cry out in pain. She then repeatedly stated,”Oh my god, my leg is broken.”
All of the attackers then ra away in an unknown direction. Mr. Brown then saw two uniformed Police Officers respond to their location. He requested they notify an ambulance as Ms. Bautsch was in obvious physical pain. The officers then did so. In response to Sergeant Gernon’s questions, Mr. Brown stated the majority of the protestors had left the area outside of Brennan’s about an hour prior to their leaving the restaurant. Additionally he was unsure if the attackers were the protestors. It should be noted that other than making reference to the victims being nicely dressed, along with other observations about their physical appearance, Mr. Brown did not hear them make any other comments.
This was a terrible crime in the crime-infested French Quarter. Your heart cannot help but go out to the victims after reading this description. They deserve non-partisan compassion and prayers for healing.
It doesn’t help to insist on making this a partisan cause celebre and reducing the victims to political pawns when the evidence remains murky — and especially when one of the victims himself heard no politically-motivated taunts.
Save the ideological outrage for bona fide cases of politically motivated violence.

Via Human Events, Bautsch’s mother responds on Fox News:
BURNING: Honestly this is not a Republican or Democrat problem, this is a problem that a young girl and her boyfriend were attacked and the story hasn’t really come out. And I just want to make sure that these guys are found. That’s the important part of this. There is accuracy in the story. I just think that yes when you do the investigation you do look at the people who were in the area at the time, to be able to bring the right people in for questioning. That’s the really important part.
If the police are doing the ground work and they’re doing the investigation correctly then certain people are definitely going to be brought in.
KELLY: I know that they’re looking at all of the people who were outside of the event at the time. Do you know, did your daughter get a good description of the people who attacked her?
BURNING: They were very average looking kids — not necessarily kids that you think would harm you. That’s their description of them, but I’m not going to say that they looked like Republicans or Democrats. I’m tired of everybody doing th[a]t.

..therefore, my opinion of nawlins remains unchanged.
Crawfish anyone?
Will prosecutors charge the perps with hate crimes?
Via Yahoo News
“Last Friday night, Allee Bautsch, the chief fundraiser for Louisiana’s Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal, was violently assaulted, along with her boyfriend, outside of a famed New Orleans restaurant. Reports on the incident remain murky, but a source close to Bautsch tells Yahoo! News that Bautch believes they were politically motivated and has been hospitalized for days to treat her injuries.”
Oops, forgot to paste this:
“Yahoo! News spoke to a friend of Allee Bautsch who’s been in communication with her since the attack. The friend, who declined to be named because the attackers are still at large, described the group who descended on Bautsch and Brown as “some weird Bobby Jindal protesters” there in opposition to the state’s governor. The friend confirmed the earlier reports that Bautsch “got caught in the middle” of the altercation as she tried to break it up. Bautsch’s friend also reported that she’s in “loads of pain” with “rods in her leg and ankle,” but that she was also “released yesterday from the hospital and is resting at her home in Baton Rouge.”"
Does New Orleans allow for concealed carry of handguns?
I am still questioning the decision by the RSLC in deciding to have the event in N’awlins.
RedDog…
What’s the matter with “open carry”?
If you’re obviously armed, you’ve deterred most criminals right then.
I still am unsure what, exactly, a Palin pin is.
Conceal and carry…from my cold dead fingers. Nuff said…
In Lewd Orleans, Pepper Spray is both a detterent and condiment!
I understand why Michelle has to play this as a law enforcement matter, downplaying the possible political angle until we know more.
She’s an Important Person. What she says has an effect. It Matters. People Listen. And if it was not political, being wrong would damage her credibility.
But, c’mon ……… there were a good many ‘protesters’ (many thuggish in their mentality) there before it happened and it happened to young people dressed like Republicans who’d just been at the event by people dressed like the Democrat protesters.
If we had to bet on whether there was a political motive, we all know perfectly well what the smart bet is. Betting the other way would be really, really dumb.
*Conceal or open carry, the great equalizer; No more perps walking the streets; Part of that personal responsibility thing they are trying to take away completely.
*I do wish them a speedy recovery.
Here in the Midwest, we call those bait!
Whatever it is, obviously elicits the same response as a pledge pin ala Animal House. ” A Palin Pin? On your uniform! Drop and give me twenty, maggot!”
From the AP via WWL-TV in New Orleans:
Beukeboom – Did you not read my post? I linked that IN THE POST and transcribed the police report for you.
Sigh.
I believe Michelle is again erring in not checking out what she’s linking to – e.g. the police report is from Monday, the article she linked to is actually titled “GOP victim unsure if violent attack was political” (the opposite of her take) and it too uses only the old police report as it only source.
Since then the police have been all over the place (“political/not political/I dunno”) in talking to this with investigative bloggers/news sources have begin asking questions.
Nowhere have either of victims said there was no political motivation or ruled it out. (In fact, sources claim they’ve said quite the opposite.)
So instead of shooting the investigative messengers, I believe it’s wiser to let them dig and let the chips fall where they may on this story. They are one doing the heavy lifting on this, afterall.
The left needs to prove it wasn’t politicaly motivated! snort!
Until or if more is revealed…we have much bigger fish to fry …
another “e.g.”
Not a new photo – Human Events got it from Hayride – it’s been around for a few days.
The Hayride, which was linked to in Michelle’s first post as the go to place for information on this case, has been doing extensive yeoman’a investigative work and asking the questions on this story.
Sounds like class warfare to me. Hmmm, don’t liberals engage in class warfare?
Okay fine, we won’t jump to conclusions. But if I were the NOLA police I’d be looking for a dirty man with an auburn ponytail here and at other anarchist hangouts.
OT
See Ace of Spades.
Lindsay Graham, Retard-South Carolina, just proposed increasing the Federal gas tax 15 cents to battle Gorebull Warming.
That let Obama slap him down and claim he doesn’t want to raise taxes.
I think Graham means well. One, he isn’t a super genius, and two, he gets out of the Air Force, wants to go into politics, has generally center-left ideas, which back in John Glenn’s day meant one became a Democrat, but like his good buddy John McCain, by the time he was ready to enter politics, the Dems had plainly become the anti-military and pro-communist party.
So one winds up with a reasonably nice, if not incredibly bright guy, who has decent looks, which unfortunately matters in politics (unless you live in a hardcore Marxist district like Slaughter, Nancy Lugosi or Batboy Waxman) who is center-left, but in our party.
There’s 22 posts here, and 50% of them are missing the entire point.
Michelle is saying it doesnt appear these were politically motivated.
And yet, it’s still be talked about as if it was.
I think it’s getting to the point of manufactured dislike for liberals. Had people making comments about this being about liberals, or anything else other than the violent act it was…then you’re just not really paying attention.
DLTDHYOTWO if you can’t read and respond in kind to the event itself, without having to pretend its about something other than what it was.
Misscheryl, it’s quite possible to fry more than one fish at a time! I know – I’ve managed to fry large Pike and sunfish, other small fry (not to mention the beer batter) in one pan more than a few times. They all turned out fine.
But it’s moot – we don’t even have to fry this fish, others (investigative writers) are already putting the heat on (and making police & politicians nervous in so doing), and handling the pan with aplomb!
I apparently forgot a bit..
**or, anything else other than the violent act it was…bothered to read the article in its entirety…
fixed.
A little too ‘abstract’ there, pal. You are the one missing the entire point.
Are you seriously telling us if you had to bet if there was a political motivation to the attack that you would bet there was not??
Don’t be ridiculous.
Purple – you are making me hungry! I agree, let it go. As Abstract has pointed out, don’t become what you hate. We have plenty of things to focus on and if this was politically motivated (which we do not know, but right now appears as though it was not), it will happen again and happen more often – then we can address it. My opinion only of course.
PS – you’d need a really, really big pan to fry more than one walleye at a time. I miss walleye.
As I said before…
Way to go, Michelle!!!!
This is how we earn, guard, and maintain a reputation for integrity.
We suspend making judgments until we have FACTS.
Why manufactured, can’t one come by it naturally?
Not quite correct, abstractmind, Michelle’s denying it was political. It’s not a vague “appear”.
Since there has been no official determination if there was a political element or not to the attack – and since there are – at best – conflicting reports, it’s a legit matter of question/debate, n’est-ce pas?
When the dust finally settles we’ll know one way or another. Until then, it’s an open question.
Wull, yeah…
Plus, we have LOTS to dislike that we KNOW it true.
I guess what seems odd about this entire thing is that those who punched, kicked, etc., did it for either pure hate or pure fun.
Since they weren’t robbed, that was not the motivator. So, exactly what WAS the motivating factor for attacking these two?
Yeah, move along nothing to see here. They were chased from the Republican HQ and viciously beaten by hateful young men. Yeah, it was probably a mugging in which nothing was taken. They must be really bad thieves. I’m all for not jumping to conclusions, but it really doesn’t take a genius to connect the dots. God forbid we state the obvious: this was another in a long line of violent attacks by the left.
We still don’t know who fired the first shot at Lexington and Concord. Doesn’t matter.
I came from a big family so all the pans were big! We even had one of those office-size coffee-makers. It was like Ma & Pa Kettle, I tell ya.
I think folks should stop emailing Michelle about this, though. Instead they should be pressing the NOPD and Jindal for answers.
I wasn’t one way or another about Jindal, but his failure to show personal outrage over one of his own people getting severely beaten (no matter whom the culprits) doesn’t make me think very highly of him. Having a flunkie release a generic “Well, we hope she gets well soon” is a mighty weanie reaction.
Purple…simply put – we don’t know. Maybe I’m too simplistic, but let cool heads prevail. Seriously, Jindal’s response actually in my mind, speaks volumes. If I’m wrong..I’ll suck the heads of a pound of CRAWFISH!
That’s all I’ll say about it.
Gov. Jindal is doing exactly the right thing.
How ’bout meanness? I’ve seen a lot done out of pure meanness. Terrible stuff.
Ever hear of “wilding”…???
I lived in NO for a time back in the late 60s. One of the most dangerous gangs in the area was the NOPD Tactical Squad.
But you mix a cocktail of lots of booze, testosterone, and maybe a few pharmaceuticals with some class-envy, or being ignored by a cute blond, and this is something that could happen in any big town in America.
Oh…
and this is why we have 9mm pacifiers.
We don’t know the full story yet, but the fact remains that anarchists were the organizers of the “protest” and they are hardly known for their peaceful activities – which makes the situation (which was not a robbery and does not appear to be race-related) highly suspect. I am not basing my suspicions on anything that Pat Dollard said, or on discounted rumors about Palin pins, but because I’m not much of a believer in coincidences. The evidence that this is not politically motivated doesn’t appear to be very strong, so I’m a bit puzzled as to why Michelle is stating that it’s not as if it were a fact, instead of just continuing to say ‘we don’t know the answers yet so don’t rush to judgment’.
Michelle…resist!
Allee Bautsch’s purse was taken, but that happened after the police arrived. Even the 4 day old police report admits that.
Another problem with depending a whole lot on the old police report Michelle links to: you’ll note they admit to not yet having interviewed Allee Bautsch – this 4 days after the attack.
The old police report, by the way, was a handout to the media. That is, it’s not an exclusive.
I disagree with the idea that if this was just about money and the appearance of wealth and “class”, that it wasn’t political. Hello. That IS political.
Then there is the well-established and photographed proof that the protest outside the findraising dinner was itself ALL ABOUT MONEY. The flyers from the bookstore, damning jindal for swimming in cash while “people are starving.” The photographed signs. The various sources who claim to have been there and seen and heard these protesters screaming obscenities at anyone who looked like they had a job, screaming things related to the – imagined or otherwise – WEALTH and class of the people. But those were just eyewitnesses.
Maybe we should wait for the NYT to give us the facts. So we can be sure.
We can’t really trust anyone who was there, or anyone who claimed to have talked to Bautsch. We have to wait for corroboration from the Ordained Priesthood of Knighted Holy Journalists, of the Order of Columbia.
A lot of denial and grasping-at of straws is what I see.
The statement of the guy who WAS THERE pours water on the “political” motivation deal.
You don’t want to hear him.
Anyone who claimed to talk to Bautsch is relating HEARSAY. There are REALLY good reasons that form of evidence is discounted in court. It is OFTEN A LIE, EXAGGERATION, OR WARPED PERCEPTION of reality.
Here’s a deal…you put up a blog as respected as Michelle’s, and jump to conclusions on it. Until you can do that, respect her judgment.
AP at HotAir has the same take on this as Michelle. Nothing To See Here, Folks, Move Along.
Put it this way:
If the attack on Bautsch and Brown was not POLITICAL, then neither was the protest outside Brennan’s. That was just about money and class and Rich Bastiches.
I humbly propose that there is, indeed, Something To See Here, contrary to the opinions (or, opinion-making) of Michelle and AP.
Yes, go for the good part.
Was the protest outside Brennan’s “Political” in nature?
The truth is out there, for sure.
And even if it turns out that this crime was politically motivated, holding a wait-and-see position here, now, is still the right thing to do.
There is no justification to generating faux political martyrs, then finding out after the fact that there was no such motive. That’s egg on the face, and fodder for the left to use to claim that conservatives are all about knee-jerk reactionism.
I never said it was.
3-5 unkempt men beat two clean individuals after taunting “You think your special.” It’s class warfare, it’s political. Left and right are split along these lines.
Oh sure, you post a bunch of stuff, mostly words and some hyperinterwebs and all…
OK, Michelle, you need to ask yourself a couple questions.
1. Were there any other attacks int eh French quarter within say the last 10 days that resulted in any kind of injury even close to what these 2 got?
2. Are you letting your blindness of the French quarter make you unable to see this for what it was?
As resident of New Orleans I can promise you it may have been 1975 since the last time a “dirty skinny white” assaulted a well dress couple in the quarter. It simply doesn’t happen, especially in that location at that time of night.
Maybe it was and maybe it wasn’t but you closing your eyes to the fact that it could be a political based attack isn’t doing you or anyone else any good. As a matter of fact, i will even say it probably was politically motivated.
I’m thinking more of Jindal’s inability to respond to one of his workers getting beat up, Misscheryl.
I understand he’s trying to avoid controversy for NO tourism sake – “come to NO and get beat up” doesn’t make for good commercials or as a convention selling point. And his political aspirations certainly dictate avoiding any controversy.
I wasn’t expecting him to be Reagan. A simple manning up would have sufficed. How hard can it be to say “This was wrong”? Even GHWB could emote “This will not stand”.
As far as I’m concerned if he were to tell me “Don’t worry, I got your back”, I’d reply “Naw, you walk in front of me Bobby”.
BTW, after your scarf down pounds of crawfish heads you’ll have to have an equal amount of crayfish noggins
The bottom line is that if you are out on the town you should be armed, knowledgeable about the law with rspect to self defense in N.O. and skilled with your weapon to get you out of a jam like this. The couple are frankly lucky to be alive, in my opinion.
I couldn’t agree with you two more in your assessments of this case.
Those poor kids that were violently assaulted will never walk the streets again without thinking about it.
If you’re visiting any large city and are going to be out in areas where there is partying going on, forget the pepper spray and either go for bear repellent or wasp spray (which is designed to be used from a distance). Unless you’re traveling by auto chances are you’re not going to have your handydandy weapon with you. Even then, it depends on the laws of that state whether you can carry. It just sucks to be the victim and only to be arrested and your favorite toy confiscated.
Dear Michelle Malkin,
Yes, I did read your entry and the link from WDAM in Laurel/Hattiesburg, Mississippi. I included the report from WWL in New Orleans simply for the one extra sentence not included in the WDAM site: “The fundraiser took place during the Southern Republican Leadership Conference but was not tied directly to that event.” I felt in the interest of full disclosure, including the WWL report, albeit mostly redundant, did add a bit more info that the WDAM site did. Don’t know why WDAM omitted it. Perhaps AP amended it after WDAM posted it? My sincere apologies if I offended. I am just trying to help.
I carry a Puerto Rican express.
Don’t leave home without it.
Please allow me to apologize for any grammatical errors or misspellings in advance.
Wrong, that wasn’t my implication.
Another incorrect assumption on your part – I said “suck” the heads. You don’t eat the whole thing. OK, now I am really, really done with this.
GRAMMAR CORRECTION:
I felt in the interest of full disclosure, including the WWL report, albeit mostly redundant, did add a bit more info than the WDAM site did.
Oh and PS – Purple – have a great weekend!
They just found another (the 4th) NOPD officer that helped cover up the shooting on the Danziger bridge after Katrina. I don’t know how much faith I’d put in a police report.
I apologize if I implied that to you, Michelle. It was not intended.
My intention there was to note this was an odd hand out/release to the media, being that it’s 4 days old, incomplete and not in any way, shape or form a final report.
If there were an implication it would be: “why are the police handing out an old report instead of giving quick press briefings?”. If there were questions that would compromise any investigation, they can pass on answering them. I don’t believe “have you ruled out any political motivation?” would be a question that would complicate the investigation. In fact, it surely would stop a lot of speculation.
Instead all we have is an old police report where people have to try to “read between the lines” for what went down. This leads to the news article you linked to coming up with a totally different takeaway than you on this:
“GOP victim unsure if violent attack was political“.
That article – which you referred to “the latest from victim Joseph Brown” – is actually (from the article) “according to a police report obtained by The Associated Press on Friday” (i.e.the same 4-12-2010 report you linked to). Kind of a circular referential issue there and I believe referring to it (an article drawn from the same report) as the “latest from the victim” is somewhat of an incorrect selling title.
Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery to Joseph and Allee.
That’s New Orleans. I was in the
French Quarter a few years ago when undercover cops and uniformed street cops got into a shoot-out, with each other, in front of the Monteleone Hotel! Seems the street cops were caught selling crack out of the trunks of their patrol cars. Great town, New Orleans, keep in mind they’ve elected democraps as mayor since the 1870′s.
Again…
Told ya so.
Damn… I’ve broken my arm patting myself on the back purple.
No, I didn’t think it was, Misscheryl! That’s 100% my thinkin’ as to motivation to downplay local violence and keep it off the front pages. I suspect even the mayor of Mogadishu knows what to play down about his turf.
I think eating them would be less stressful. Kinda like the goldfish eating fad. Quick gulps and they’re gone.
(By the way, it’s my grammar that needs a heap of constant apologies, not yours!)
What’s that?
Straight Razor. Easy to use, visual impact, can disable opponent easily, easy to conceal and ditch.
I have a comeback joke for that, Surveyor, but it’s X-rated (dang family-friendly forums!)

That’s OK purple…I think I know what it is!
Dear zorro,
Taking your 1870 as the starting point, here is a list of the non-Democrat mayors of New Orleans:
Benjamin Flanders (Republican)
Edward Pilsbury (no party affiliation listed)
Isaac W. Patton (no party affiliation listed)
Joseph A. Shakspeare (no party affiliation listed)
Walter C. Flower (Citizens’ League)
Paul Capdevielle (Regular Democratic Organization [
Andrew J. McShane (Orleans Democratic Organization [ran against Democrat])
Only one Republican since 1870 (Edward Heath was the only other Republican mayor in New Orleans history but was only in office from March 28, 1867 to June 10, 1868). Amazing, eh? In over all that time, the overwhelming majority of mayors in N.O. have been Democrats.
And as of May 3, 2010, New Orleans will be stuck with yet another Democrat, Mitch Landrieu, son of former New Orleans mayor Maurice “Moon” Landrieu and sister of congresscritter Mary Landrieu. I never saw much difference between Landrieu and Nagin.
Mitch is an attorney who is married to an attorney. Parallel’s the Clinton’s somewhat in that respect.
Thanks, Hangfire. I’ve got to travel more outside of Washington State, I think…
Travel, sure. But don’t move. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
It defies reason to assume that there was no political motivation to the attack.
First, you have an attractive well-dressed young couple and you have a lot of well-dressed people who left the restaurant which was billed as the site of a Republican meeting. It is also known that the meeting attracted protestors. These aren’t supposition, these are facts.
Second, the derogatory terms yelled at the couple are not without political implications just because somebody didn’t use the word “Republican” in their speech – and this certainly could have been deliberate to avoid the appearance of a political attack. It is reasonable to conclude that the attackers had no robbery motivation as nothing of substance was taken and no weapon was employed. It is also important to note the timing – close to the nationwide tea party events.
Third, this is part of a pattern of assaults that we saw with the SEIU thugs at a Tea Party when they beat up a black man under cover of darkness. To assume that this is just a random incident seems illogical, and we have yet to enter the active political season
Fourth, if this situation were reversed, the Democrats would be screaming to high heaven about tea party or Republican violence. We have already seen false allegations of racism thrown about by black congressman.
We have got to stop assuming that we are somehow at fault or the situation is different than it is. Sherlock Holmes would not be pleased with this passivity. And —— frankly, it is better to seek forgiveness than permission as an old Navy saying goes.

That reminded of an old joke you probably have heard, I found one version of it at this link:
Joke Number 1
I wouldn’t go that far, publius, but I would say it wouldn’t make sense to exclude the possibility. And so far, from everything I’ve seen, the police have not ruled it out yet.
But on another part of your comment, there’s this from Hayride which is local to NO and has been investigating this from when the story first broke:
“In an interview this afternoon, Louisiana GOP Chair Roger Villere, Jr. told Lincoln Parish News Online he and several others were pursued by protesters last Friday night after a political fundraiser, but managed to get into a cab and avoid the mob. “We started to leave out the front door after the event, but the protesters had us blocked – there were six of us in our group – so we went out through the kitchen,” Villere said. Once they got outside, the protesters spotted them and began to pursue them, but they managed to get into a cab and avoid confrontation.”
So we’re not talking about something that’s unheard of.
I would like to suggest a couple of other nasty possibilities. First, where is the camera footage. Doesn’t NO have tons of it? Second, where is the supposedly active police presence. This young couple apparently never saw a police officer. I refuse to be a conspiracy theorists, but there are a lot of unanswered questions along these lines.
If you go to the freeper website, there is a picture of a guy who absolutely fits the description. He has his wife with him, smoking a cigarette, and a little blonde boy of maybe 3 years of age. They were in the protest group, and it is reported that the protest group was active and tried to get into the restaurant by force before the police drove them back.
Stuck On Stupid…Still
Publius, I’m a Freeper myself, but I wouldn’t put too much weight on that. I’ve seen that particular speculation ,among others.
You will find some excellent research done at Freep, e.g. they were the first to point out Dan Rather’s Bush TNG papers were suspect and more recently they exposed the Crash The Tea Party idiot.
I imagine one or more of them has passed their suspect pics along to the officials, which is fine and a good idea. That pic has alreadys made the rounds on the net already in various places.
But I just wouldn’t read much into that particular pic myself and really don’t expect it has any bearing on the incident.
I would like to address the New Orleans violence problem on Bourbon Street. It exists openly and it thrives without police protection. Back in October 2004, I happened to be traveling through Louisiana by car while my brother and his friends were in New Orleans for a Saints vs Vikings game. I decided to detour to N.O. and meet up with them. My blond (ex)girlfriend and I were walking from club to bar, looking for a place to hang out. One of the bouncers to the main dance club bar told us at the entrance, “If you’re new here, watch your backs. There’s a lot of $%&* who will punch you for no reason other than you’re both white and blond.” We looked at him with laughter but he said he was serious, it happens all the time. A couple hours later we walked out of the club (sober) and began to look for a restaurant to eat. Out of no where, I was sucker punched in the left ear several times. He was trying to bust my ear drum and make me deaf. It worked to an extent. I gained my composure, grabbed my girlfriend and stepped backwards while yelling, “someone call the police”. A huge circle of people gathered and watched this idiot try to swing at me again, while I ducked. The most visible area of Bourbon Street and NO SECURITY, NO POLICE. About five minutes passed while I leaned against a building. A police car casually rolled up with two cops. My girlfriend ran up to them to tell what happened, while I stood behind her holding my ear. The cop says, “So? what do you want me to do? I can’t do anything if it’s over.” They sat in their car and did NOTHING. No police investigation, no statement, no action. The next day we went to the businesses in the area where it happened and all said they have no external security cameras. This happened in October, not Mardi Gras. New Orleans is a DUMP and has not changed since Hurricane Katrina. I nicknamed that place New Fallujah. It’s THE most evil place I have ever wandered through. The next year Katrina rolled through. I honestly believe that city got what it deserved. ANYONE who has visited that city would agree. KARMA. Unfortunately the Democrats have brought back the wrath of Satan’s spawn. New Orleans is the armpit of the Gulf.
That’s an interesting story, America1ST – I think people tend to forgot the local peculiarities. We all know the danger, issues, political dirty laundry and corruption of our own areas but we aren’t aware of issues in other spots around the country.
On this topic, if I were to hazard a guess about this involving politics it would be something more local and personal.
Not so much that the victims were waylaid by some hippie protesters who were looking for anything conservative to attack – although I suspect that element was present in the general time & area.
Out on a limb speculation-wise, it could have been more personal, a political “hit” of sorts. Allee Bautsch wasn’t just some GOP voter, but rather Bobby Jindal’s fundraiser – she would be a fairly well-known local. It may have been intended as punishment for her “enabling” Jindal via her work with money-raising. Or perhaps a punishment-by-proxy of Jindal. Or to send a message to Jindal.
Of course, that’s all speculation, but I just happened to recall the saying “all politics are local” and pondered if there is a political angle to this, that it may be more a local political war thing as opposed to being due to a global hatred of conservatism in general. i.e. something more specific
Yes it has. It’s gotten worse.
*That’s not too bad, considering Detroit is the rectal orafice of the rust belt; Trust me, I grew up there; A once great and vibrant city is now hell on earth.
I have no clue if this is a politically motivated beating but I think its important to note a significant rise in animosity on the left recently.
Liberals know they’re permanent Dem majority is toast, I expect the insane rage on the left to reach unprecedented levels before Nov.
I very much hope Allee Bautsch and Joseph Brown fully recover and the perpetrators are caught and go to jail.
Its a sad commentary on the nation that the only politically acceptable defense is to take a beating that could have cost them their lives.
Shoot, they’re=their.
My final comment on this story. If the guy in freeper picture isn’t the one, than it is his twin. Here is the likely scenario. He takes his wife and 3 year old son to protest. The wife takes the 3 year old son home because he is hungry, cranky and needs to get to bed. The guy and some of his pals decide to have some beers and they just happen to spot this couple. Now fully liquored up and resentful of Republicans, they stalk and then assault.
If you check out the wife here, she smokes and has a tattoo. I have great sympathy for the 3 year old as he is being messed up big time by these people. If we ever get an arrest, and my suspicion is that it is highly unlikely, then we are going to get a really good bead on what the backgrounds of these people really are.
An armed society is a polite society.
2nd Amendment. ‘Nuff said.
I sure am glad we spent billions to rebuild New Orleans.
Their motive doesn’t matter. They’re still Obama voters anyway you wanna look at it.
And John Deaux is right… N.O. is a sewer.
Hellsbells, I can live with that. It’s not hard, after all.
Actually purple… I hadn’t heard that one before.
Now excuse me while I wipe the booger from my keyboard… cause that was pretty funny.
The setting in version I learned was a newcomer in a bar and the punchline was “Well, some people know how to tell ‘em and some people don’t”.
I like the general premise, would be a lot easier to just say “73!” than to make sure you told some joke right.
‘You’re a fu**king faggot,’
I think the prosecutors MUST consider this a “hate crime’ if they want consistancy…
I expect the LGBT to be DEMANDING prosecution to the fullest extent…

This website has an extensive timeline of the incident:

Apparently, there was an earlier attempt assault. It looks increasingly like a political assault although not directly from democrats but from anarchist-communist elements.
I still can’t connect to The Hayride. I’ve been trying for two days at various times of the day. I’ve even tried from multiple computers.
Am I the only one having this problem?
The odds are high this attack was politically motivated. Of course that does not mean it was planned by the DNC or anything remotely like that. It was leftist street thugs attacking innocent victims because the victims were Republican/”rich” people. It wasn’t a “plot.” Not a “conspiracy.”
It was just leftists doing what leftists do to the kind of people they hate when there are no cameras around.
In other words the attackers were almost certainly Democrat voters, whatever they happen to call themselves.
Remember, the Communists voted for Obama. The CPUSA endorsed him. They are a part of his collection of psychotic misfits now running the country.
