May Day/Che Day: Reconquista returns

The open-borders lobby can try and hide its radicalism with a carefully-orchestrated show of American flags, but the movement’s reconquista roots always expose themselves on May Day. The first sign above was displayed at the 2006 May Day protest in Denver and the infamous American flag-toppling in the second photo took place at a Montebello (CA) H.S. May Day march. The third photo comes from the Arizona protest last week, via Mark Krikorian. And the fourth photo is the official May Day (Che Day!) 2010 image. Take a refresher course here and here.
As I noted last week in my gallery of open-borders extremists, the Che Guevara-loving, sovereignty-destroying agitators are leading today’s annual illegal alien marches across the country. The National Immigrant Solidary Network is organizing many of the events (background on the group from Discover the Networks here). See if there’s one in your neighborhood and help do the reporting the MSM won’t do. Oh, and a warning: Beware of Purple-Shirted SEIU amnesty thugs:

Sister Toldjah
» Barack Obama: Can we call him a Socialist now?

I’m a little baffled, puzzled, confused. I’ve listened to the radio, looked online at AP, and other sites. I expected to see some live reports of these big demonstrations for illegal aliens, and I can find nothing, nada, zilch. Oh, there’s predictions of massive ones. A guy in New York says the Arizona law has awakened a sleeping giant, and in passing the article says 5,000 people were in a NYC park demonstrating about it. 5,000? I could get that many out in support of my favorite soda pop, Dr. Pepper, but where are the demonstrators?
Thank you! I’m not quite a technophobe, but a Photoshop like you created is beyond my capabilities.
Thanks for sharing your creativity.
This inundation of illegal aliens is not a result of incompetence or negligence.
It was intentional.
In liberal-speak, a crowd of 5,000 at a pro-open borders rally means 50 people showed up, including the media. A crowd of 5,000 at a Tea Party rally means over 2 million showed up.
Kind of like how they were reporting that 5,000 barrels of oil per day were leaking into the Gulf the first couple of days but now that has grown over 250,000 gallons.
You give these people 3 feet and they take a yard!
Of course it was. It’s about campaign money and votes. I’ve posted this before, but my Indonesian wife is still struggling after 5 years, to get a resident visa. I could have spent 3-4K thereabouts and bought a fake green card and ID. She would be working now, for quite awhile. No, we go the legal route. The problem is that Immigration wants a birth certificate. Unfortunately, the center, in her Indonesian island, burned down, years ago. Some records were saved and scattered. The only thing she had was an English translation. They won’t accept it. They did concede and say that if she could produce 2 witnesses to her birth, they would waive the certificate. Uh, she’s 59 years old. Thousands have been spent on lawyers and refiling fees. Thousands, also, have been spent on getting people to search around to see if her certificate was saved. Finally, in March, a record was found. Great! Uh, now the government wants a NEW English translation. What??? Now, it’s a race to get the Embassy in D.C., to provide a new translation but they, of course, take their time. We have to May 20th. Otherwise, it’s back to square one, all over again. I retired from the medical field on April 19th, and hung up my ‘scope. I don’t want to spend thousands more, just to start all over again. She’s angry and frustrated and I can’t blame her. The government is a heckava mess when it comes to immigration and it’s a situation they caused and want…for the money and votes.
The arresting of illegal invaders isn’t tolerated but the shooting of Sheriff’s Deputies is.
GREAT POINT!!
If this falls through, I suggest you go the fake ID route. Why not? You are being royally screwed by our government. If your wife goes the “illegal” route, she will get all kinds of privileges. It is no wonder people decide to come illegally. Our immigration system is totally broken and everyone knows it.
I am still incredibly angry at how Bush treated Ramos and Compean. In fact, that is when I totally turned against him and decided he was no better than Clinton.
This belongs on the other thread…I am moving it there.
Papa Louie,
This is what Ted Kennedy said about the 1965 bill.
“The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”
Kennedy is(was)now the chair of the United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Citizenship, and remains a strong advocate for immigrants, both documented and undocumented.
During the sixties and seventies about the same time there wasn’t enough room for citizens to have children.
Let’s settle this. Mexico can have Kalifornia, all its residents, its debt, and its politics; so long as all US residing illegal aliens (a/k/a undocumented-workers; citizenship-challenged-humans; social- services-seeking-migrants) immediately move to that state.
Recuerda el Alamo!
I work with several folks of Hispanic origins. IF the open border and Obama crowd think that the majority of folks of Hispanic origins are against our bill in AZ they are kidding themselves. There is 100% support amongst the folks I work with today.
They are sick and tired of the illegals maybe even more so then us of non-hispanic origins.
No No No! We should just GIVE them that beautiful coastline? I totally disagree. The southern half of California is pretty much lost to us. But the top part still has hope. I don’t believe we should give them one single inch. That land is ours. We own it, we need to salvage it and get rid of the usurpers and the moonbats. That is prime land there. Why should we give it away? We must fight for what is ours.
Found “proof” that Obama is not a socialist-
Link didn’t work.
Breaking news:
Immigrant advocates are being arrested in front of the White House fence, after sitting down and defying orders from police.
About three dozen protesters and U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez of Illinois joined in the civil disobedience Saturday. They held a sign saying, “Obama, Stop deporting our Families.” Some wore T-shirts that read “Arrest us, Not our Families.”
Protesters are usually required to stay in motion when demonstrating in front of the White House.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/05/01/immigrant-activists-plan-dozens-marches-nationwide/
Oh how I wish they would keep them in jail for a while!! Especially Gutierrez!
I would off an alternative. Since Texas refuses to secure its border like California and now Arizona, I suggest that we pay tribute to the battle of the Alamo, which the Mexicans won, and give them that state. That’ll finally put a cork in the mouths of all those big mouth bike ranch cowboys.
Does anyone else see the irony in this? Here is a woman, married to a US citizen, working through the legal process to get a resident visa, and Immigration won’t accept a translation of her birth certificate.
Meanwhile a ‘live certificate of birth’ suffices for the TOTUS – and no one is allowed to wonder why. It’s especially interesting, considering that when he was younger people remember being told he was from Kenya.
Not trying to reignite that debate, just noting the differing standards of proof required in these two instances. One would think that the requirement for POTUS would be a bit higher than for Mrs. graysonret.
This was the turnout at the Memphis May Day protest. It was utterly pathetic and I just had to laugh.

Tried again. Neither of your links worked for me. I wonder why? Anyway, thanks for telling me what it was. All I got was “This program could not read this webpage format”. Thanks anyway!
So doing some quick reading of the May Day Parade coverage. Did anyone bother to tell these people, Gloria Estefan, and the likes that the issue is ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION?
50 protesters, 200 there for a “good time”, 300 reporters, camera/sound crews and drivers.
They don’t care. It’s all the same to them.
I heard from someone who was near the Boston Common this afternoon. He said it was pretty tame and when the demos were leaving, they looked like they had been at a rock concert.
“It’s all the same to them.”
I don’t think so. I think their use of the word is intentional, or the lack of the word illegal. It is because even they know there is a difference. As soon as you put the word illegal in there, they don’t have any argument.
They know there is a difference.
I bet most of us would agree with all the stuff that has been said about immigration. We AGREE with them about immigration. My grand parents immigrated here from Denmark and England. Did so LEGALLY. Just cause I’m a white guy does not mean my heritage is immigrant free. I’m third generation immigrant.
We need to keep the focus on the word ILLEGAL.
“I’m third generation immigrant.”
Or am I second?
My grandparents, mom’s side were from Denmark and dad’s side England, parents born here, me born here.
JSM, it isn’t about “illegal immigration”. That would raise the issue of the law. No, it’s about “racial profiling”. That’s the “pc” excuse. It makes them feel good about themselves and makes any opponent a “racist”.
I was just reading Breon York’s response to Michael Gerson’s criticism of Arizona’s new law; this paragraph in particular resonated with me:
Care to guess why some of us are asked to produce a driver’s license when purchasing certain over-the-counter drugs? Yup, because some idiots use a certain very effective decongestant (pseudoephedrine) in the production of meth.
So those of us who suffer with allergies – or even simple colds – have to produce our ‘papers’ just so we can buy a perfectly legal, and in itself, innocent, pharmaceutical. And it’s all because someone else insists on breaking the law.
One store ultimately lost my business because they insisted that, contrary to the law, they be allowed to scan my driver’s license (the law only states that I have to show it).
Oh, and those idiots who are screeching that any Latino stopped for a traffic infraction will be ‘run in’ if he/she doesn’t have his/her driver’s license, get a clue bat. If I, with my lily-white complexion, get pulled over for a traffic violation (or even a light that’s out) and can’t produce both my license and registration, I’m in a whole lot of trouble. I really wish they’d quit this bull-crap.
should have been a joker card rather than an ace….lol
Today’s Headline from The LA Times:
This is news? I’ll bet my last dollar that there are more than 100,000 illegals on the streets of LA on any given day at any given time.
luis in cuffs…love it…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx54Uks15-g
If it (the cancelling of Arizona’s turn at the All-Star game) comes to a serious consideration, we should organize a week’s boycott of MLB. It would take a lot, but could you imagine millions not attending games for a week nor watching them at home or in the bars.
That would truly garner some attention.
.
Just a little tongue in cheek humor Happy. I wouldn’t give them an inch of any of it…:o)
How about Al Gore’s 1.5 acres in Montecito? Make a nice half-way house for all of them headed home…
All those reconquistards can kiss my American ass.
MY local NBC affiliate called May Day “a holiday that encourages community participation.” Why do people claim were biased they continue to wonder.
They showed a clip from a protest with illegal immigrant supports holding pre-made signs that say “JOBS FOR ALL AT UNION WAGES”
Americans can thank the following for selling out america’s soverignity, borders and security:
- Bill Clinton.
- George Bush (Jobs Americans don’t take).
- George Bush (re-elected)(Mexican Family values).
- Barak Obama (Driver’s license for illegals).
POTUS/Commander-in-chief has illegal immigrant relatives.
Don’t forget to thank Janet Napolitano taking the side of criminals/rapists and murderers.
I wonder whether this NYC car bomb was related to the immigration protests. It seems to be quite a coincidence if it isn’t related.
Absolutely correct America is a continent not a country (technically 2 continents North and South). The United States of America on the other hand is quite definately a sovereign country with laws governing how immigrates to it. And as far as I know there are no provisions covering legal immigration by climbing over the wall in the middle of the night other than don’t do it.
I doubt it, it was either a lone wack job or a test for something far more sinister by the “relgion of peace”
I didn’t realize the significance of the day until I went for a stroll from my apartment up Broadway towards Union Square. That’s when I was confronted by the sea of human garbage drifting southward towards the Wall Street/City Hall area.
Funny how in years past I thought of these people as a joke. But considering who the occupant of the White House is as well as a majority in Congress, it’s no joke.
And May 1st should be set aside as Victims of Communism Memorial Day.
Africa is a ‘continent’ too–what’s your point, dipsh!t?
(disclaimer–RE: photo above)
Yesterdays riots and anarchy all over the world as well as here in the US, should point out to even the dumbest communist/socialist that the world is running out of “other people’s money to spend”. A Drudge story on Greece today says the rich are taking their money and leaving, and the talented young (a doctor in the story) is seeking to leave also.
California, New York, Michigan, New Jersey, Maryland are all solid corrupt democrat controlled states, and they are all in financial trouble and losing their rich to less taxing venues. When you look at any gubmint agency, local state or federal, NOTHING IS TOO GOOD OR EXPENSIVE FOR THEIR BENEFIT. My little community in St Louis Co just decided to spend 8 Million dollars on a new City Hall for themselves. In St Louis, $8 million is serious money for a building when the average home in the area is in the 300k range. But hey, it’s other people’s money, and I deserve it. THE MOTTO OF THE GUBMINT BEAUROCRAT.
We need ALL states to follow Arizona’s lead.
ObamaCare does away with the Public Charge Doctrine in America’s immigration laws. PC Doctrine, in my poor legalese, means that an immigrant must live and prove for a period of time (5yrs?)that they won’t sponge off the government, in any way.
If Amnesty for illegals passes, these new ‘immigrants’ plus the legal immigrants who are in their waiting period, immediately can receive medicaid and other benefits.
ObamaCare + Amnesty =’s death to our definition of the American Dream.
ObamaCare: Repeal and Replace
Amnesty: Never let it happen
Arizona immigration law: All States
If we give illegals amnesty, remember the new health”care” bill. It is already trillions over what they promised. Add in 30 million illegals. Buh-bye U.S.
I saw a resident on TV yesterday pleading for the troops to come down and guard the border. Mexican police are shooting at our border guards and we do nothing???
This country is imploding and Barack goes to a press dinner and cracks jokes. Ha-ha, mr. comedian. You are the joke, and it is on us.
Sunday is my day off from politics, but I just wanted to vent a bit before I go into my detox mode.
Looks to me like yesterday’s protests pretty much fizzled. Much smaller crowds in all cities than expected and had previously turned out.
Could it be that they have read the polls showing large majorities for ENFORCEMENT?
Too bad our representatives can’t read….
Re: the upside down American flag pictured above:
Traditionally, an inverted flag is recognized as a signal of distress among navies and merchant marine. Doing so as a sign of disrespect or protest is rather ironic, as it indicates a distressed mindset.
When I worked in Manila, I often walked through Quezon Circle in the NE part of the city. Manuel Quezon was the first president of the Philippines Commonwealth and spent most of WWII in Washington after the Japanese occupation. His tomb is at the center of the circle, below a towering monument comparable to the Washington Monument. There is a promenade leading to the monument lined by flags from all nations.
Walking the promenade one day I was upset to see the American flag upside down. I didn’t really care whether this was a statement or simply an error, but brought her down and raised her upright and went on my way. The next time I walked the route, Old Glory was again upside down, which answered the question. This time when I set her right I attached a small note to the flag. “Two KM from here lie 50,000 young americans who died for your freedom”. (Manila American Cemetary and Memorial)
Never had a problem after that. Seeing Old Glory upside down beneath the Mexican flag is upsetting, but illustrates a warped and absurd mindset that fools no one. If Americans did not buy Mexican products and provide them jobs, they could not exist.
Try that in Mexico My Dear Geronimo-it is only a few hours drive from Phoenix. Our Dear Geronimo can pull all kinds of protest here that would cause him grievous harm there.
Welcome to el Norte Geronimo Ramirez where victimization and whining like an overly tired child are now considered the highest public virtues.

“Members of the Los Angeles group, who said they supported indigenous rights…”
How do we join this group? I’d like to be a member. I too support indigenous rights.
Were any of these illegal immigrants born and lived as a people group in Arizona?
“Buh-bye U.S.”, and hello permanent one-party system in the US.
THIS is the SOLE goal of dems in this whole debate; to bring in a voting block that, like blacks and other latino’s already here, vote for dems and their gov’t goody bags, taken from hard working taxpayers. If amnesty passes, this Country’s politics changes forever, and IMHO REAL civil war would shortly follow.
No kidding, Janet! Gee, I thought the guy set up a bomb to rid the area of rats.
Following the logic of “America is a continent,” I should be able to retire in Venezuela and Chavez’s government should take care of me without me shelling out $$ for my healthcare and other necessities.
Come to think of it, to me it looks more like America (that is USA’s liberal politicians and media) is “incontinent.” They can’t help excreting other people’s money.
The focus needs to stay on:
1. Secure the border.
2. Illegal immigration.
In terms of AZ the focus needs to be:
1. READ the bill. READ IT!
2. Public safety

http://www.azleg.gov/DocumentsForBill.asp?Bill_Number=1070&image.x=6&image.y=7
3. Vote out those politicians who support illegal immigration and open borders.
BTW, saw Mark Rubio on Fox News Sunday this morning and he was weaseling out of his anti-AZ statement from last week. He rationalized that AZ modified the law to remove his prior concerns. What????? Has anyone read or heard of any modifications since this law was passed? Rubio may be the best candidate in FL but he is sounding more and more like the polymorphic Republicans who we are trying to vote out of office.
“Has anyone read or heard of any modifications since this law was passed?”
Yep. News of it easy to find. Modified and resigned on Friday. Removed any possibility for profiling.
As it is now the check on immigration status is second. It is only after some other crime is involved.
So IF you commit a crime and don’t have proper documentation, THEN you are going to be checked for legal status.
If you commit a crime and have documentation your immigration status is not being checked.
Only need a driver’s license.
The same process is for all of us. If I get stopped for committing a crime and I don’t have an ID of some kind, I’m in trouble and will be checked out.
This is the same for all AZ folks.
Any possibility of racial profiling was removed.
Yep, bill changed Friday to be certain.
“It is written so broadly that if you were visiting in Arizona and you had an accent and you were a citizen from my state of New York, you could be subjected to the kind of inquiry that … this law permits,” she told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Asked whether the law invites racial profiling, she said: “I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.”
Oh Hillary. How sad for you.
Then I gladly stand corrected.
Ultimately, the case for the open borders crowds is made by assuming that AZ police are corrupt white bigots. I am reading that more than a third of the police in AZ are Hispanic. The left simply cannot accept a world where police can be honorable and competent professionals. Anyone with a uniform is a murderous Nazi.
better than pulling into a lawyers office in OKC and seeing a buzzard flag below the US flag on the same pole!! Didn’t bother going in after that…found another one to take care of my legal needs…
This isn’t just a matter of politics. The left is inciting violence by this intentional misrepresentation of the law and intent of the law.
The open border crowd is getting worked up and they think they are righteous in their indignation. When they are being controlled and manipulated by the most egregious motives imaginable.
Talk about hate speech.
The left is going to be responsible for some nasty riots me thinks…..
And I’m sick and tired of Krauthamer calling us draconian.
My sentiments exactly!
As one can imagine the AZ news forums/boards are quite busy. This was recently posted. Finally, an honest transparent post. None of this racist stuff. A fully honest accurate and truthful post.

Janet, Janet, Janet, there is no terrorism in the world since Obama brought us all together…
OT – Honolulu Advertiser has poll numbers on their front page showing Djou is leading (36%) Case (28% and Hanabusa(22%)in the special election to replace Abercrombie.
Of course the sub-heading mentions “concerns” that Case and Hanabusa would split the vote. Why not call it “hope” rather than “concern”. Oh yeah, MSM – except the paper is going out of business shortly…
Yeah, let’s ignore the fact that at the height of Mexican occupation of the Southwest from CA to CO, there were only 11,000 occupants of which only about 1,000 were adult males and most of them didn’t want to be here. Once they won their independence, they abandoned the missions and military outposts and went home.
It was the discovery of gold in 1849 that brought them back and like just about everyone else who wasn’t part of the wealthy establishment, most of them lost their property in the process of recertifying their property deeds.
And you can’t lump all Mexicans together either. California had their own version of the Texan Tejanos who were fighting for independence alongside the whites and who didn’t want to be part of either the US or of Mexico. So maybe Mexicans took the Southwest from Mexico? That if much more valid a claim than that the US stole it from Mexico.
BTW, I wonder how all of these Mexican marxists plan to defend AZ were they to suddenly take possession of it? We could starve them right out of existence. It would be an excellent reason to dam up and divert the Colorado River up north. Of course, there would still be some fine tubing to be had in Mesa. Tourism would be dead.
*Now that’s what I call hope, that the MSM will go tango uniform; Profits rest in reporting the truth, wherever it is found, but most have chosen to conceal the truth and reveal their loyalties, so let them go bankrupt.
As half season D-Backs ticket holders any chance I could buy one of those hats from your wife?
I wonder how they would feel if the Aztec/Maya descendants (and the others)demand that Mexico be returned to them because of the Spanish….
Send me an e-mail at jrgdds@gmail.com I’ll see what I can do.
They have been bought out by their smaller competitor and will be closed – I mean merged…
AlohaGuy: Don’t tell Phil, but I’m supporting Djou to win, and not because he is a Repub. that would replace a Dem., but he seems center-right on the issues, and of good character, at least from what I have gleened.
Thank you for the update AlohaGuy!
That is great news!
Djou looks like he would be an excellent Representative for Hawaii! For more info see

Guatamala wants to tell us how to do immigration?

you won’t see this one on the lame stream media stations…

That’s all they have is crap.
I’m sick and tired of Krauthamer.
“America is not a country”…well not as long as Obama and Democrats are running it. All of these rallies represented an excellent opportunity for a round-up.
You wonder why such educated people don’t realize the Mexican regime is a bunch of communists.
I’ve noticed that the White House has a fence that is rather well patrolled. No one gets past the fence at the White House without being documented. Maybe we should have the fence at the White House removed?
Don’t celebrate Che. Celebrate Shays.
