The May Day angry mob you won’t see

Reconquista revolution without borders! (Photo credit: El Marco, Denver)

They came, they saw, they threatened or committed violence in the name of open borders and workers’ rights. But alas, Frank Rich and Paul Krugman’s columns decrying the insane rage and hate of the May Day angry mob got lost in the mail.

In Santa Cruz, they carried torches and vandalized at least 18 businesses:

Downtown business owners spent Sunday repairing shattered windows and doors after a May Day rally Saturday night turned into a riot with approximately 250 people marching along Pacific Avenue, some carrying makeshift torches, throwing large rocks and paint bombs, and spray-painting walls with graffiti.

At least 18 businesses suffered damage during the rally in honor of international workers that began at 9 p.m. and escalated into mayhem around 10:30 p.m., police said. Investigators estimated damage at $100,000, though some business owners said it could be more. No injuries were reported.

On Sunday, sea green-colored glass littered sidewalks where windows and glass doors had been smashed. Maintenance workers, many getting called in the middle of the night, boarded up windows with plywood until new sheets of glass could be installed.

The vandalized businesses included Urban Outfitters, Peet’s Coffee, Noah’s Bagels, Jamba Juice, Velvet Underground and Dell Williams Jewelers. The unoccupied Rittenhouse building also was damaged. A police car was vandalized with rocks and paint, department spokesman Zach Friend said.

In San Francisco, anti-illegal immigration activists were attacked by the May Day marchers:

LISA AMIN GULEZIAN, REPORTER: Allan, for the most part the event was peaceful, but just about an hour ago, three people were attacked and two others were arrested. The people who were assaulted were part of the Minutemen demonstration in favor of Arizona’s new immigration law.

They said a large group of immigrants’ rights supporters followed them to the BART station on Market Street and started punching and kicking them, and calling them names.

PARKER WILSON, BAY AREA ANARCHIST: They said we were racists, and that we were against them, and against their town, and against San Francisco, and what they were saying. They said we needed to get out and they called us racists, and that we need to go home. And then they just attacked my friends and me.

The City Square was at the SF protest and captured the border-sabotaging Che lovers:

Spotted in the window of a San Francisco shop. Didn’t get vandalized, naturally:

In Denver, El Marco caught the Aztlan/anarchist mob at its best (er, worst). Here, the illegal alien advocates accuse us of being the invaders. Really:

The (professionally printed) Nazi card was out in full force in Dallas:

So was more unabashed reconquista sentiment, as I previewed on Saturday. Thanks to reader N.N. for e-mailing these photos:

Behold the culture of open-borders entitlement:

And requisite Tea Party-bashing:

Robbie Cooper has a report on the Che worshipers and socialist agitators at the Austin TX May Day rally. Check out these lovely attendees. As Robbie notes: “One of these masked clowns is a reporter for Univision Channel 62 in Austin:”

A citizen report on the extremist May Day protest in Atlanta GA:

In Minnesota, what do they want?

And how do they want it?

***

An account from the NYC protest:

About an hour later we were heading to a concert on the NYU campus, and started walking down Broadway toward Astor Place. We started hearing lots of police sirens all at once, and then looked straight ahead. There were young guys with baseball bats and Che signs pinned to their backpacks running down the street smashing store windows, all on the west side of Broadway. We stopped dead on a corner, because there were police cars coming from so many different directions the street lights were rendered meaningless. As soon as we stopped, about 6 NYPD units pulled up to our exact corner and the cops jumped out and tackled two of the vandals literally TWO FEET in front of me. Some other officers arrived, jumped out of their cars, and started a crazy foot pursuit of another guy who started running in zig-zags down the middle of Broadway. They tackled him as well, in the middle of the freakin’ street, as cars kept almost hitting everyone involved. It happened incredibly quickly. There were tons of eyewitnesses, and I even saw a few people videotaping, but of course I can’t find mention of this incident anywhere online or in the media. We had about five minutes to get to the concert, so stopping and gawking wasn’t an option. We just kept walking, tried to get away from the whole mess. But we could see and hear police interviewing plenty of witnesses, and heard people say “they just kept breaking windows”, and saw the perps with their faces in the pavement for ourselves.

I can’t count all the times when I have entered a fast food restaurant and NOT BEEN ABLE TO COMPLETE MY TRANSACTION IN ENGLISH.

I recall an event last year when I was eating lunch in fast food restaurant. I was one of a few customers in the place and could see and hear the conversations at the counter.

A family of East Africans entered the place and ordered at the counter in clear English. After some obvious difficulty, the Spanish-speaking staff took their order. After what seemed like a longer than normal time, the food was given to the customers. They went to their table, near mine, and began to open their items.

As it turns out, virtually ever item they were given was different from what they ordered. The adult male went back to the counter and spent the next 15 to 20 minutes trying to make the problems understood to the staff. None of the 4 staff who came to the counter could speak English well enough to help this man.

It was amazing! As far as I could tell no staff member was even basically competent in English and could not manage a medium-sized order with a few special requests.

Who is standing up for the rights of this presumably legal East African immigrant? Why must I learn Spanish to order a burger at a burger joint in Northern Virginia?

Since the East African immigrant speaks perfect english, no one. Now, if he insisted on speaking an East African language in public and expecting to be accomodated, and the numbers of like minded East African immigrants in the communinty were large enough to have an economic impact on business, see how long before you’d have an employee behind the counter speaking such an african language.

As to your learning spanish in Northern Virginia, LaRaza and TEH WON insist – they’ve gone nationwide. In ten years at the rate this nation is going, the USA will have more Mexicans and Central America living here, than in their own nations. Unless more states quickly take Arizona’s lead.

I don’t even walk into places where the staff doesn’t speak english. Living and working in the vicinity of Los Angeles has given me experience in this matter. We were on the west coast cutting edge in accomodating immigrants in encourging their retaining the use of their own langauges in public.

You get to know usually just by outside appeance where english is a foreign langurage around here. It helps when none of the signage on businesses has no trace of english.

Rick Perry should have kept his mouth shut.

But remember, his opponent Bill White, Texas State chair for Clinton-Gore 1996, not only made Houston a sanctuary city where cops are not allowed to ask criminals if they are illegal (but more than a few illegals have murdered cops), but also spent taxpayer funds building day labor centers for people looking for cheap labor to hire illegals.

All while leaving Houston a budget deficit that will mean more taxes and less cops and firefighters. Not sure why cops and firefighters always get the axe ahead of librarians, bureacurats and park attendants, but such seems the life in the big city.

Or maybe its just a tactic to raise taxes.

Both our priests are Philippine born. Our pastor went to the Harvard of the East, Sto. Tomas. BTW, when we had Joshua, our third, the nurse, Imelda, was Ilocano. I guessed that, just from her name. She spoke Spanish, BTW, helpful in the Houston area, she also went to Santo Tomas and said Spanish as a second language was encouraged. BTW, Monsignor Seth, our pastor, does the Spanish language Masses. I’ve heard him speak Spanish, very fluent in it.

Not many illegals from there, and while some speak English with a pronounced accent, I haven’t met an immigrant from the Philippines yet who couldn’t speak English. Even when I lived in California. Heck, when I was in Olongapo everyone could speak English.

Mexicans and Central Americans are the only ones coming in sufficient number that they can isolate themselves from the mainstream American culture and refuse to speak or learn English.

That reminds me, we used to have a priest from Spain, Father Alfredo, he learned to speak English at the Vatican, no doubt from a native Italian speaker, and spoke English with what sounded like an Italian accent.

Amen. From what I was able to find out, when my family came to the US one of their first thing the did was learn English. My grandmother once said that her mother would speak English when in public, even to fellow family who knew a different language.

Two things about all these May Day demonstrations bother me, the first can be found here vividly presented. I take personal exception to the characterization of the US military and to the concept of a communist revolution in the US. If you want a revolucion, please do it in your mother country.
Second is this business of speaking your mother tongue here in the US. My father’s parents immigrated to Hawaii, legally (couldn’t get to the US mainland because of immigration quotas)and my maternal great grandparents became naturalized US citizens when Hawaii became a US territory. Both sides made sure that their children and grand children could speak, read and write English so they could function in their new home land. They managed enough Hawaiian Pidgin English to get by, but were adamant that we should learn proper English despite living in an immigrant community. So why should an Hispanic immigrant have the rest of the country bend over backward for them? We don’t do it for the Apache, the Navajo, the Pimas or any Native American tribe you can name except on those lands where they are wards of the Government and those living there who want greater opportunity learn English. So why this exception?

My husband’s maternal side came in 1912 from Norway, and endured Ellis Island. His Norwegian grandparents learned English and requested all their relatives speak it in their home. I can’t think of one of their grandchildren that didn’t go on to college, becoming very successful in their chosen fields. What a novel idea.

    Aztlán is a myth.

Isn’t it amazing that everyone that they lost a war and territory, but think they have permanent claim to it.

Interestingly, I had an email conversation with Rene Gonzalez (of UMASS, who wrote the now infamous article in the college’s Daily Collegian, “Pat Tillman is not a hero: He got what was coming to him.”). He was from Puerto Rico (and may be hiding there today), but made several remarks similar to the “stolen from Mexico” mindset, at which point I reminded (or informed) him that Puerto Rico was originally peopled by the Tainto indians, and that maybe Puerto Ricans should return the island to them before pointing any fingers at the U.S.

I never got a reply to that.

There are no original people in the North American continent. We are all descended from immigrants. I was born here, so I am a native.

It was that way here for a while. But so many are FOB from other provinces, and don’t have the mastery of English that I have myself witnessed in the P.I.

It worries me that there are so many guerilla organizations in the south, particularly Mindanao, that are Moslem extremists and aligned with Al Qaida. How much more difficult for them to sneak into the U.S. via Hawaii and the West Coast? Can Filipinos blend in? Ja, shoor, ja betcha.

This is not immigration, this is an invasion. Only a country mired in PC would allow immigrants (legal and illegal) to come here and demand we cede territory we change our lifestyle/culture/language to suit them, and do absolutely nothing about it. We should be rounding up illegals, and their anchor babies, and deporting them. As well as any legal immigrants supporting the illegals. Do liberals still believe the fantasy that mass immigration is harmless?

I also predicted that, while the media, politicians, the President, etc., will paint the Hispanic-Latino-Illegal Immigrant-Racist-Hate filled groups as nice, loving, peaceful, caring, etc., those demonstrators-mobs, and their leftist, progressive, Liberal, predominently Democrat supporters, that they will omitt from the news the violence, hatred, racism, vandalism, etc., that I predicted will be perpetrated by these same people who will be falsey presented as nice, peaceful, and caring.

I am certain that there are thousands upon thousands of others who had the same insight into this predictable violence, hatred, etc., perpetrated by these ne’er do wells, these haters, they disrespectful, vindictive, selfish, arrogant, violent, racist, xenophobic thugs who hate true, peaceful, law abiding citizens such as the Tea Party demonstrators, while they support the violent, hate filled, disrupritve, law breaking mobs as we see in the hostile pro-illegal invaders demonstrations.

Many of us who are of mixed race, married to legal immigrants, people of races different from our own, etc. have no problem with legal immigration. It is this imvasion by illegals who hate the USA, who come here to siphon off our resources, abuse our fellow citizens, attack and murder our police, break our laws at every turn and get a free pass, steal our resources, etc,. and then scream “You US people are NAZIS, HATERS, RACISTS, and other BullSh#% that we abhor!

Mass immigration based on PC rather than common sense is a disaster as much as the illegal invaders. The nice legal immigrant in the NYC attempted car bomb is a perfect example. As is some of the 9/11 perpetrators. Or the underwear bomber (was here legally just not a citizen). Giving citizenship to people who don’t really want to be an American, is probalby worse than illeglas. Because they can then blend in. Plus it gives the gov’t the excuse to say “a citizen attempted……” rather than an immigrant (legal or illegal). IMO, we should limit immigration to some kind of reasonable standard (say a stable population growth or 100K per year) and only to those who meet high standards (add value to American citizens lives, not mooch off us). Not allow lottery visas or any illiterate with 10 kids who can apply for immigrant status (I would also refuse muslims till they get their act together). Of course, children or spouses are different. We are just simply packing more people in here every year, with no regard for the quality of the immigrants. I for one do nto wnat to live in a country of 700M or 1B people. Nothing good can come from that. BTW, I am married to an immigrant from Europe and she agrees with me 100%. Bringing in poor illiterates and muslims has disaster written all over it when they reach critical mass in terms of numbers.

NOTHING.
I’m sick of demoRATS and it is comic listening to them feeling sorry for themselves. I have no sympathy for any of them. DemoRATS constantly slander me and others like me, and their policies are designed to damage my life and my family. BO said that people like me are, “Bitter and cling on to their guns and religion.” etc, etc. His clown AG, Holder, said white Americans were, “Cowards.”
I saw what they tried to do to the Palins and, “Joe, the plumber.” DemoRATS are happy to see us suffer and be killed – that’s just not a problem to them – it’s their objective.
