The Wisconsin Democrat faces tough poll numbers at home, but until Tuesday night his staff had insisted he was running aggressively and had hired campaign staff. But a person close to him confirmed the decision to POLITICO Wednesday and said Obey was preparing to make a statement.

That’s the sound a towel makes when a Democrat throws it.

Here’s hoping all Democrats who voted against the will of the people suffer a similar fate.

It’s not safe to have any Democrat back in congress regardless of their stand on the Obamacare bill. They can be the most moderate of moderates but once in congress, they become a Democrat “Stepford Wife” to Pelosi voting in lockstep with the Gestapo.

The halls fo congress need to be rid of all the Dem vermin that are still lurking.

I’m thinking this is all part of the Dem strategy to save a sinking ship. Truthfully, I’d prefer no one run for re-election. A clean sweep for every election. I’d have a two-election cycle before a person could run for any political office again, so as to get the feeling of working in the private sector and get out of the aura of the political sphere. And from local to federal offices, there are so many places one could serve as an elected official without having to occupy the same seat as a career.

I’d also prefer that senators go back to be appointed by state legislatures and represent the interests of the states, as was originally done.

The House should be the sole reprentative body in DC for the people.

Way back on Feb 17, 2010 Sean Duffy got a boost, if you recall.

In this election year, we’ll see many daring Davids take on entrenched Goliaths. Just one of these many brave souls is a northern Wisconsin patriot named Sean Duffy. He’s running in Wisconsin’s 7th congressional district against a liberal Goliath who’s been in Congress over 40 years now and has the dubious distinction of being the author of the stimulus bill. To commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the stimulus, Sean Duffy is holding a fundraising “money bomb” for his campaign so he can replace the career politician who drafted this government-bloating behemoth.

If you’re frustrated about the waste in the stimulus bill, please support a solid fiscal conservative who will work to repeal it. Please visit Sean Duffy’s website and help him help us correct the mistakes of this past year.

On this first anniversary of the stimulus, let’s send a message to the big-spenders in Washington by helping Sean Duffy unseat the author of the stimulus. Let’s put government back on our side and get to work revitalizing America!

    - Sarah Palin

Sean Duffy Exceeds His Money Bomb Goal

It definitely is interesting. I’m not entirely discounting the probablility that, even if he survived re-election, he would be at best the ranking member. After all, he is a close friend of Pelosi, and she is by no means guaranteed to remain Speaker even if the Dems hang onto the House.

The road is now far easier for Duffy, but it is far from clear. The last 5 “competitive” district-wide partisan elections (2004 Presidential and Senate, 2006 Gov and AG, 2008 Presidential – the 2006 Senate was not competitive) were won by the Democrat by an average of double-digits. That does include Kerry’s less-than-1-point win in 2004, which is part of a trend of Dem Presidential candidates underperforming.

Of course, the potential candidates that come from the Legislature would face the same problems Obey faced – they governed in the Obey mold. That is especially true for State Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker, who would have to choose between running for the State Senate and running for the House and fulfilling a long-delayed dream.

Further, there is speculation that a Republican State Assemblyman, Jerry Petrowski, might give up his seat to jump in and give Duffy some actual primary competition. Of course, if Decker, who was waited for this day forever, walks away from his Senate seat, Petrowski might go for that instead.

On that front, the Dems have been busy trying to ensure they have no primaries of note so they can repay us for Operation Chaos. They do have one at the moment for lieutenant governor, but they’ve already removed one of the three major (and two minor) potential candidates and put heavy pressure on a second. Indeed, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel paraphrased WisDem chair Mike Tate wishing for no primary despite a half-dozen Dems expressing interest.
