If you haven’t heard, Pennsylvania’s legislators are working on a bill similar to the AZ bill. I sure hope they get it done. It would be great if NJ would do the same, but I don’t think there’s enough republican votes to get it done here.

By the way, Cinco de Mayo seemed MUCH calmer to me this year. Several years ago, as a resident of the Phoenix area, that night was always fraught with the sound of gunfire, fireworks and sirens disturbing an otherwise peaceful evening. This year? Quiet.

Why is no one asking “yes we can” what? What is it they can do?
The answer is what the left and the media don’t want any light to shine on. The left and the msm can get away with calling people who wnat secure borders, legal immigration and public safety needs met racist and bigots as long as the the answer to “yes we can” remains unsaid.
Those of us in the southwest who have been paying attention know the answer. The “what” is take over the southwest. The idea that the border is illegitimate and needs to bed moved north and east is not held by some lunatic Hispanic fringe here in the southwest any more than hating the west and being ok to kill infidels is a fringe belief in Islam.
The hostility is real folks. There is trouble coming if not dealt with seriously.

Rags, did you catch the protest the LULACers tried to held before Wednesday’s Astros/D-backs game? Maybe 20-25 showed up, in a sanctuary city that probably has as many illegals as the entire state of Arizona. The only story I saw in the Chronicle about the May 1st LULAC/La Raza rally quoted a mother and then several paragraphs later her son on the pro-illegal side.

Probably not. As I recall, the immigrants were on the inside, not outside. I suppose their descendants would take umbrage if we treated the Mexican immigrants the same way.
Illegals have been flooding into this country for decades, and tens of millions of legal mexican immigrants who are just as loyal to mexico are of the same mindset as the illegals: “take back America”.
They exist in every major city across the US, and thousands of suburbs and small towns.
mexico doesn’t need to invade the USA, they already have. And if you think that they are not capable of coordinating a unified attack nationwide on the same day, I would ask you to think it over and reconsider.
They are not just illegals. Those loyal to mexico and illegals hold positions throughout the American employment industry. They are street vendors, police officers, accountants, drug store clerks, restaurant workers, utilities workers, computer technicians, and so on. A coordinated attack, using weapons supplied by the gangs that have been allowed to spread country wide, may not sound like much, but they could, and would, murder millions of people in order to get what they believe belongs to them.
Possible? I think so. Likely? I hope not, because we won’t be able to respond fast enough. Our guns are useless if they break into our homes and take them while we are at work.

What a lot of Mexicans can’t stand is that several of the heros of Texas Independence were MEXICAN. They wanted freedom, and HATED dictators.

That is correct. Consider this time in the process as one of localizing a generalized infection. As the infection becomes localized the pressure internally from that infection, or what could be considered an alien substance, and the symptoms become worse. But you aren’t going to get better and less infected if you will if that localization does not take place.
This is the beginning of what at the end of the day will be healing. But it is only the beginning. There is pain ahead. I expect riots and violence. At some point there will be national guard and maybe military involved.
This is serious stuff and as we deal with it the hostility and seriousness of many of these illegal aliens is going to become clear.
YES, there are are kinds of immigrants who love the U.S. and are in favor of the law we have in AZ. NO, I am not painting with a too wide brush.
But there is a very militant armed and hostile portion of Hispanics in the southwest that are a serious problem. The Mexican drug cartels make anything you’ve seen in the movies about the mafia pale in comparison.
What is at stake here is some major money. The kind of money that would put Greece back in the black.
The turf war is going to be just that. A war.

As you have seen on the news, they got sent home from school for wearing the flag to school on Cinco De Mayo. While this is not an official TPPSV event, we are patriots and we don’t think this is right.
We encourage you to attend. American flags, lots and lots of them would no doubt be very welcome at this event. Old Navy has very inexpensive American flag t-shirts this time of year if you want to dress in solidarity.
I may just have to take a drive down there tomorrow morning. Morgan Hill is a pretty little town on the way from San Jose to Monterey.
I’ve read that many drug running gangs are manned primarily with illegals and they are led by Mexicans who have US citizenship. They use illegals because they know the routes in/out and work for drugs or for little money. Not much is reported on the MANY murders carried out by these gangs and the huge caches of military weapons they have. It takes time and work to find out how very, very vicious these gangs are.
So where’s the MSM outrage over this?

According to the piece of paper called the Constitution, it’s a job of the federal government to “protect all the states from invasion”.

My wife and I Just bought a duplex in Tucson. (Before S.B. 1070) Winter holidays are going to be much warmer as well as our retirement in about 12-14 years. I hope they pass even more “draconian” laws concerning illegal immigration.
I seem to recall a foxnews.com headline a week ago saying that there was another bill on the AZ Governors desk that if signed would put some sort of ban on all “ethnic studies” classes in schools in the state.
Does anyone know if that was a factual thing, and what is happening with it, if it is for real?

The ethnic studies ban is true … but we also passed a law that eliminates the need for a concealed carry permit … plus we won the battle against the highway speeding ticket cameras in the state legislature and they will be removing them from our highways and freeways …

We don’t need to see Arizona do the struggle alone. Other states need to “raise the standard” and come forward with their own immigration bills. Start a movement.
If those that support illegal aliens think it is okay for 20 million illegals from Mexico to enter the U.S., attend school, receive medical treatment at U.S. hospitals etc., then they must not have a problem with any other individual from any other country wanting to come to America anytime they wish.
However, if America truly just sat idly by and let everyone who wanted to come to the country in, then there would be about 100 million chinese and probably about 150 million Indian people who would enter the U.S. immediately. You would have a vast number arriving from the continent of Africa, additional illegals from South America etc.
Inevitably, as most new arrivals would be of limited economic means, yet have live in and consume in a developed economy with higher prices than in their homelands, they would demand economic assistance from the government and of course receive it.
Given that America is running a massive federal debt and deficit, and therefore can’t sustain itself as it is, if 300 plus million more people came to the U.S. with their hands out, your countries entire economic structure and system would collapse. Their would be chaos, everyone would go into survival mode and it would resemble an end-of-days scenario. Those that could get their hands of the most fire-power and were best organized would be the only ones left standing.
So, in other words, if everyone did as the illegal Mexicans have done, America would collapse and not exist. That is why, if it isn’t alright for everyone to do it, it’s not alright for some to do it.

It would have changed everything had those Mexican students waved the American flag to show their loyalty to America. Instead, they are proving why uncontrolled immigration, particularly the illegal kind, is bad for any country.
My immigrant parents were never ashamed of their original country but they never would have flown the Canadian flag in the face of Americans. All of the men served in WWII and came to America to become Americans, not to mooch.
It really IS different with the Mexicans. The believe that WE are the ones who have to leave THEIR country.

Isn’t it amazing that Obama is so concerned about the recent drop in the stock market that he is having his people review trading activity, yet in the same breath, he is trying to pass cap-and-trade, which he knows will put a huge burden on American businesses going forward and thus impact earnings and stock values in a drastic way.
It’s as if he is as stupid as he is dishonest and he is trying to see if he can outdue himself in both regards.

Over 60% of Americans are in agreement with the new Arizona law,roughly 20% are against it. Go figure how congress will implement thier new immigration law.
There’s not just white guilt in America, there is latino guilt as well.
I have a friend who is 5th generation American of Mexican descent. None of her family speaks Spanish, including her father, mother and grandparents. Needless to say her children don’t either.
A few years ago, she became all involved in the immigration debate, sympathetic to the illegals and trying to institute Spanish and Mexican related activities at the elementary school our children attended together.
She is the epitome of Americans of Mexican descent who feel guilty for the plight of their “countrymen” as she once called them. I reminded her that she is American and since they are not, the illegals are not her countrymen.
The point was lost on her.
I simply *must* share this. Even if it is not 100% true, this is so well-written, it must be passed on.

The only poll I have seen:
61% of Arizonan’s of Hispanic Origin who self identify as Citizen or legal resident favor SB 1070. Our English Only initiative a few years ago was supported by a majority of Hispanic Origin voters. Support for SB 1070 was weakest among white liberal/Democrats.
There were in fact we Latino/Chicano/Mexican/ Mayan-Spanish Hybrids/Coconuts in the counter protest at the Capitol–as we were not wearing our sisters panty hose on our heads or acting the fool we did not get the TV coverage. Imagine that.
This is not a mere political argument but in fact an invasion by people not interested in obeying ANY laws not of their own choosing. Their gangs are in fact a political statement.
Wearing an American Flag in an American school is ” disrespecting the Mexican-American students“. tells you all you really need to know.

You see, their “experiences and sensibilities are, thankfully, a lot broader than most of their neighbors.” Of course! Given the beating and racial slurs tossed about by the police in Seattle I think we can at least show immigrants how our new law in AZ is for THEIR benefit as well. Clearly defining racial profilling as illegal means AZ is cutting edge on protecting immigrants. The law being so specific and so clearly denouncing racial profilling is PRO-immigrant. I will tell a little side story here….I go to Mexico a lot …in the past 20 years I have spent close to a year there. It is a given that many Mexicans that come to the US not only vote but vote as many times as they would wish to. So I joke with my friends down there, that some day I would like to vote in one of their elections. This causes my friends some distress, as they are not sure I am joking…. “ don’t do it” I am told “you will go to jail, and you won’t like our jails”.
Another little side story a truth that NO one wants to hear…Child molesters…. It is not safe to molest children in Mexico…. There is no protection there. So if one has a need to do that evil, go to the US and if you get caught, you will have protection and all the money you need for your “defence”
