Arizona-bashing ignoramus of the day

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 18, 2010 11:29 AM

Here’s State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley admitting to Fox News anchor Greg Jarrett, after 6-7 minutes of venting about Arizona’s immigration law, that he hasn’t read the bill, either.

Which makes him the 999th member of the Obama administration to admit complete ignorance of the object of his outrage. Or maybe he’s the 1,000th. I’ve lost count:

    Step 1: Eliminate Welfare. Period.
Step 2: Sit back and watch as Americans line up for dishwashing jobs, while demanding that illegals be rounded up and deported.

The “American Work Ethic” has been ruined by the socialistic welfare agenda.

By declaring these as “jobs Americans won’t do”, you are effectively calling all Americans lazy or spoiled. I DISAGREE.

Sorry, I like most of your posts, but this one is off base.

O.K. I’m outnumbered!! I agree there are lots of Americans who would do those jobs. I guess I was just thinking about the spoiled kids these days who are used to mommy and daddy taking care of them. I was not calling ALL Americans lazy…I tend to forget, there are still people out there who have integrity and grit and will do those jobs if they have to. However, I don’t think there are enough of them to keep 650-700 restaurants going, with all the turnover, etc. That is what I was getting at. You have a point and I agree, but I do have a point too…right?

It was evident from the 2008 campaign that Team Hope-a-Dope really believed — and still believes — that details are for suckers.

They actually swallowed their own propaganda that everything would be sunshine, lollipops, rainbows and unicorns if they just presented themselves as the “un-Bush.” The planet would heal, the oceans would cool, everyone would love us, the economy would soar… just don’t bother them with the “small stuff.”

There was a trial attorney I was briefly acquainted with who thought that boring stuff like trial prep was like, so totally beneath him. He was so proud of “winging it” at trial that he even adopted his own nickname: “The King of Wing.”

I wasn’t around to see it happen, but I hear he eventually got his clock cleaned by some geek lawyer who actually came prepared for trial one day, coupled with an unsympathetic judge.

But it’s clear that another “King of Wing” and his coterie are alive and well, and nested comfortably at the White House and in Congress.

I agree. The clarification helped. I guess I am running on a hair trigger when I hear anything similiar to one of the lib “talking points” (that are nothing more than lies).

Because of the “entitlement nanny state” mentality being force fed by hollywood and our educational system, many of the youth have not developed a good work ethic or see the value in making oneself more valuable.

As an Arizonan, I have to laugh at this whole display of ignorance and how the main stream media has become a parody of itself.

    Simple facts:
    1. Feds pass immigration laws never intending to fully enforce
    2. States (especially those on the border) are losing money hand over fist in dealing with illegal immigration
    3. A strong-willed group in Arizona decides to call the Feds on their bluff and volunteer to enforce the Fed laws that are codified
    4. With threatened loss of votes and cheap labor, the race-baiters are sent into action.
    5. Liberal population (urban public school grads, probably), ignorant of the law, still voice their opinions as if only theirs matter in this country
    6. Media presents the story with one side favored…leaving the non-rational thinkers to draw a conclusion based on a ten-second sound bite or a long-winded sad story based on one family(the famous NPR-style of reporting). No need to introduce any facts into these stories.
    7. One story feeds the next and little actual shoe leather is used to round up the real story. In other words, many of the MSM “research” by reading other article by their peers.

These people mouth off about the ignorance of Arizona and its citizens while theirs is on full display.

I agree that a lot of people may do that for a while. And it is better than being on welfare! However, the pay sucks, and you can’t keep it up for long! In the meantime, turnover in the restaurants is horrible!! It is a restaurant manager’s worst nightmare. If you have 650+ restaraunts to keep staffed, chances are, you will hire illegals, or get more lax with your requirements. I know it is WRONG and if we got rid of all the illegals, the restaurants would probably have a high bankruptcy rate. Eventually things would work out, however, and I am certainly not suggesting we allow them to employ illegals. Just that it is hard to run a restaurant without them. Now, what do you think of giving them “guest worker” visas and some method of checking to see that they are working and not going on the dole. There would have to be rules, and I don’t know if they would be enforceable…that is the problem. Anyway, I think we agree on the main point. There are a lot of Americans who will do those jobs. But perhaps not enough to keep all the restaurants staffed.
