Alan Grayson Still Off Meds, Likens GOP to Al Qaeda in Pilot’s Seat

For those of you who fear change, you have nothing to worry about in this post because it contains no surprises — I just wanted to remind everybody that Florida Rep. Alan Grayson is still crazy:

Democratic congressman Alan Grayson is at it again. This time he’s blasting Republicans in a TV interview set to air over the weekend.

“I want to see the schools work… I want to see hospitals work,” he said. “I don’t think the Republicans share that point of view.

“Why would you put people in charge of government who just don’t want to do it? I mean, you wouldn’t expect to see Al Qaeda members as pilots.”

Grayson goes on to say his statements don’t go to far and that he’s acting courageously.

With the Democrats’ approach to terrorism that we’re seeing these days, it actually wouldn’t surprise me to see Al Qaeda members as pilots one day. Hell, for that matter, they’d probably even do a better job representing Florida’s 8th District.

From Politico:

Grayson’s office is standing by his comments. The point he was trying to make: If Republicans want as little government as possible, why put them in charge of it?

So we can have less government, you loon!

Grayson, though his synapse misfire like the spark plugs on a poorly maintained 1972 Buick Skylark, does highlight the size of the problem America faces when he echoes the belief of most Democrats and even a few phony Republicans: The inherent purpose of government is to grow as large as it possibly can, and anybody who impedes or interferes with that rapid expansion doesn’t belong — or is a terrorist even.

Here’s the hopefully soon-to-be ex Congressman:

Jim Geraghty at NRO sums it up:

Democratic donors have given $2.6 million to Alan Grayson this cycle, and it is deeply satisfying to watch them waste their hard-earned dollars on a congressman who has absolutely no chance of retaining a seat in an R+2 district.
[…]
All the money in the world can’t save you if you are fundamentally out of step with your district’s values. In the end, his term in Congress will be remembered as a two-year-long, taxpayer-funded audition tape for MSNBC.

I wish I fully shared Mr. Geraghty’s optimism.
