Cuba Denounces Arizona Immigration Law; Democrats to Give Castro a Standing Ovation in 3… 2… 1…

Can it be long before Raúl Castro is invited to speak before a joint session of Congress?

HAVANA (AP) – Cuban lawmakers have passed a resolution denouncing Arizona’s new immigration law as “racist and xenophobic,” recalling an old dispute in the process: the argument that the United States’ purchase of Arizona from Mexico in the 19th century was tantamount to theft.
[...]
Several U.S. cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego and Austin, Texas, have passed resolutions against the law or urged outright boycotts, and President Barack Obama has denounced it as “a misdirected expression of frustration.”

But the denunciation of the law by Cuban lawmakers, who called it a “brutal violation of human rights,” is sure to raise anger among U.S. backers of the law.

From Human Rights Watch:

Raúl Castro’s government has locked up scores of people for exercising their fundamental freedoms and allowed scores more political prisoners arrested during Fidel Castro’s rule to languish in detention, Human Rights Watch says in a report released today. Rather than dismantle Cuba’s repressive machinery, Raúl Castro has kept it firmly in place and fully active, the report says.

The 123-page report, “New Castro, Same Cuba,” shows how the Raúl Castro government has relied in particular on the Criminal Code offense of “dangerousness,” which allows authorities to imprison individuals before they have committed any crime, on the suspicion that they are likely to commit an offense in the future. This “dangerousness” provision is overtly political, defining as “dangerous” any behavior that contradicts Cuba’s socialist norms.

But who cares about that, because Cuba, like Mexico, is being critical of Arizona, the real criminal. Cue the Democrats!

If they want to be Americans, we have a path to citizenship, more generous than any other nation, and it starts in their home country.

We need to insist on the equal protection, application and enforcement of the law or devolve into anarchy. Our Republic only functions if everyone follows the same rules. We should not change the laws to accomodate those breaking them.

If America annouces to the world “We can’t stop you, so come on in” with another amnesty, the deluge will be overwhelming. If 3,000 a day didn’t get your attention, then wait until it’s 10,000 a day. We cannot sustain this influx and survive as a nation. We must speak up and speak to each other about this and not let false claims of racism or bigotry be used to intimidate us into silent assent. America is not Congress’ to give away. America belongs to We the People. Speak to your neighbors, speak to your coworkers, but please speak up to your Congressmen and Senators. It’s O.K. for us to enforce our laws, no really, it is.

They like open borders and don’t seem to mind when illegals invade other people’s property. Make it a non-ending problem for these senators. Oh yeah. Give Al Gore the same treatment. Just because….

You can regularly ride buses and subway cars here in NYC where ALL the ads are in Spanish. If the current Tea party rage truly represents the voter dissatisfaction for Washington DC, there should be NO safe seat for anyone in the Congress – RATS or RINOs. Without TOTAL turnover of the Congress, things are not going to change much in Washington.
Republicans have lost passion for the conservatism, and have become Democrats Lite. Many like Mccain are shameless opportunists, changing their tune just to get re-elected.

If we don’t shake up the entranched political class in Washington this November (power must be wrested from Pelosi/Reid’s hands), then the best we can hope is a slower descent to Socialism, instead of the accelerated one Obama is driving.

I just read that article. This guy, John Horton, and those like him… are the problem.

“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” Morton told the newspaper.

The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws.

“HE” doesn’t think these laws are the solution. Well I’ve got news for this PoS… IT’S THE FRIGGIN LAW!

A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.

“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” Morton told the newspaper.

Dummass: Arizonans aren’t interested in your opinions or what you think. Do your damm job.

The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws.

The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not “good government,” Morton said.

Morty, the people of Arizona have decided what is good government. Shut your piehole and DO YOUR JOB!

But then you are probably echoing your handlers orders. Get a lawyer and get ready to explain yourself to the grand jury. Responses to White House directives etc. Who knew what and when… you know the drill.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/05/21/official-says-feds-process-illegals-referred-arizona/

Wow. This displays a collective concerted effort – a policy – by the President and government officials of the United States to:

    1. Ignore or deliberately fail to enforce federal immigration law (presumably for political reasons)
    2. Circumvent or obstruct state immigration laws (again, presumably for political reasons)
    3. Collude with multiple states and federal officials to accomplish 1 & 2 above.

mmmmmm jeeze. High crimes and misdemeanors. Not good. If this is not grounds for a criminal grand jury investigation, I don’t know what is. Between this and the Sestak and Blago affairs, it appears Obama has gotten his tit in a wringer.
