Joe Sestak Offered Me a Job Not to Post This
**Written by guest-blogger Doug Powers
Oops, I guess I should say, “Somebody who works for Joe Sestak offered me a job not to post this, but I decline to say who.”
It was back in February that Joe Sestak told a Philadelphia radio station that the White House offered him a job if he’d drop out of the House race — an offer which would be a felony and could come with all sorts of possible impeachment implications depending on what levels it reached.
Pennsylvania voters ended up sending Specter back home where he belongs to yell at neighborhood boys to get off his lawn (and to accuse the female turf intruders of not acting like ladies), and yet Sestak still refuses to say who made the offer. It looks as if he’s trying to create his own version of “Deep Throat” to keep stringing the mystery along.
On Meet the Press this morning, Sestak slid into Rand Paul’s open spot and tried to keep the mystery afloat:
Rep. Joe Sestak, winner of the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary, is refusing to provide more information on what job he was offered by a White House official to drop of that race, although he confirmed again that the incident occurred.
The White House was backing incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) in the primary. Sestak acknowledged in an interview in February that he was offered a position by an unnamed White House official – a potential violation of federal law – but has not offered any specifics on conversation. Republicans are trying to use the issue against Sestak in the November Senate race.
“It’s interesting. I was asked a question about something that happened months earlier, and I felt that I should answer it honestly, and that’s all I had to say about it.” Sestak said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “Anybody else has to decide on what they will say upon their role. That’s their responsibility.”
It’s almost as if he’s saying, “Yes, that was true at the time I first said it.” Sestak’s either lying and can’t recant because there’s an election coming up and he’d be Blumenthalling himself into oblivion, or he woke up next to a horse’s head one day and can take his accusations no further, but can’t back out of them either.
His seeming “challenge” to the press is to get the White House to admit it — and you’d have better luck getting Michael Moore to admit he’s actually a capitalist pig. If you accuse an “unnamed” person of a felony, it isn’t “somebody else’s reponsibility” to find out who it was. Try telling the police somebody told you they robbed a bank, and when the cops ask you who it was, answering, “it’s your responsibility to find that out and get that person to admit it.” You’d be at the station being questioned before too long — and that’s where Sestak should be.
Naturally, inquiries from the White House Press Corps to Press Secretary Robert Gibbs have been answered in an honest and forthright fashion. Just kidding — the typically wormy Gibbs has been tangoing around the questions so much that he’s a shoo-in to win the next Dancing with the Stars, and The One hasn’t talked to a reporter in an open Q & A since Chris Matthews’ very first Obamagasm, so that option is off the table.
Here’s a complilation of Gibbs’ answers up to the end of last month.
And here’s an impressive array of quite a few of Sestak’s half-assed accusations and Gibbs’ non-confirmals and nonexistent denials — the overall scumbag factor is high in this:
Strange — coming from people being accused of a crime, you might expect a denial flatter than Keira Knightley, but that’s apparently not to be. As for Sestak, hearing a politician say “honestly” that many times set off so many alarms over here that ADT just called to make sure everything was okay.
Just to be safe, let’s put all of them in jail until we get this sorted out.
If this keeps up, Pat Toomey’s campaign ad is already made: “Tough on crime? He won’t even report somebody who committed a felony right in front of his face!”

Most. Transparent. Government. EVAH!!!
“be flatter than Keira Knightley”
Well she is just fine in my book….
The whole thing is an interesting scenario though. Either Sestak is lying or Obama is lying. Can’t be both. It will come up in the campaign. It has to. Going to be fun to watch.
LOL…. everytime I hear his name… I suddenly get “Land of the Lost” flashbacks…
Joe Sleestack!
Every Republican campaign ad this season needs some version of:
“How ya like the Hope and Change from your Democrat over the last two years? You can trust them just as much when they *now* promise you limited government (or anti-Washington…or anti-Obama, etc etc)? Don’t buy it.”
Come on people, it depends on what the definition of offer is.
Wait, sorry I ended that with is and we are still waiting on the definition of that word.
Well not to worry! We have a free and courageous press in this Country that is there to keep the powerful in check, and get to the bottom of corruption in government. I’m sure that they will be all over this story soon!!
He’s just being a good soldier…er, sailor.
Bytheway – where’s that pieceofcrap President of yours (he’s not mine)? Remember when he was dominating the air waves, everyday he was on the tube talking about himself. Nowadays..not so much.
“he’s not mine”
Sorry but he is yours as well.
Yeah Misscheryl if he keeps it up he might have another press conference in umm…..um….ummm 2011?
MissCheryl, that poc that no one wants to claim anymore is either off playing golf, shooting hoops, drinkin’ beer on the lawn, or planning his next coup. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, must be a crisis to go with it.
nah ah.
Helen Thomas: Is it true that Sestak was offered a position by someone at the whitehouse?
Gibbs: It’s all a misunderstanding. Rahm dropped his soap in the shower just before Sestak walked in.
At least on FNS Sestak said yes, the WH did offer him a job in exchange for not running.
Ummm, is that legal?
It doesn’t matter if it wasn’t legal, who will do anything about it?
The Justice Department?
Really?
Sestak is toast.
He is in the biggest political catch-22 I have seen in a long time. If he keeps his mouth shut, he loses the election. If he opens it, he unleashes the wrath of BHO and his goons, causing not only his downfall, but that of BHO and the Democratic Party.
Only time will tell.

Fun, indeed.
I love watching liberals eat their own!

He hasn’t even demonstrated that he is THE president, let alone yours or mine.

*And Toomey has the opportunity to butter him up, either on this issue of openness and honesty with the people of Pennsyvania, or on the fact that Sestak will vote in lockstep with Reid, Durbin, or Shumer, or whoever the majority leader will be, on more failed solutions offered up by P-BO and the Democrats.
*BTW, when will we be witness to guest-blogger Michelle Malkin?
Isn’t it a felony to cover up a felony?
Perhaps Sestak was offered the job of head of WH security? He’ll make sure no more intruders get into WH get-togethers.
sarc off/
Obama could choke someone to death on a city street in full view of 5 high resolution security cameras, 59 pedestrians, and three police officers and not a thing would happen.
Alice through the the looking glass…..
I just hope that Joe doesn’t “commit suicide”.
Hey Joe, I wouldn’t go roller-blading in the park anytime soon! Not that your in danger or anything, just saying is all.
Hope springs eternal.
*I like ‘em flat and firm, as opposed to high and bouncy; Taxes, that is!
Hey Joe, if you’re going to play such a coquettish c@#kteaser to Rahm, why don’t you finish part of your bucket list and draw a Mohammed cartoon while you’re at it!
If we only had a responsible press corps
instead of the Obama press corpse.
You know, that all important entity that used to be on alert to make sure darkness could never envelope our sweet land of liberty.
The new normal- no passing budgets before elections so that people may know for sure how bad the government caused mess we are in financially is- and no press conferences for presidents that have lost their mythical aura and may have to answer truthfully about criminal activity, and above all-absolutely no leaking of classified information important to national security… such as the White House visitors log!
Please. I would love to see the Pocket Lenin impeached…. and frog marched on a perp walk. Isn’t that what Dems want to see of Republicans? Yes, that’s it, frog marched….
Sigh… does this post really call for a sexist ‘joke’? You couldn’t find another analogy for flat?
Frankly, I find it refreshing to see an actress refuse to mutilate her body to make it an object of lust for men.
Zing! I would hope but not expect that every media outlet in Pennsylvania would stand in solidarity with the WH press corps in demanding to know whether a crime was committed before endorsing Joe Sestak for Senate. (Not holding my breath).
I wonder if the media will ever actually turn on the administration. Not counting on it.
CommonSense said:
Agreed on sentiment, but it doesn’t mean her body isn’t an object of lust!
Doug Powers: you do realize that you are not going to get that job now don’t you?
Just this once I will give them the benefit of the doubt
