Tapping ever so gently on the White House/Sestak stonewall
Well, even Democrats are starting to worry about the White House/Sestak bribery scandal that we’ve chronicled here since February.
Doug Powers kept you up to date over the weekend.
Now, here’s the very latest from NY Democrat Rep. Anthony Wiener — who has taken a break from his Glenn Beck advertising witch hunt to worry out loud about the refusal of Team Obama to practice the transparency they so loudly preach. Wiener taps ever so gently on the White House/Sestak stonewall. Via The Hill:
Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner (N.Y.) called on the White House on Monday to detail conversations it allegedly had with Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) to try to convince him to drop his Senate bid.
Weiner said that allegations that White House officials had offered Sestak an administration job in exchange for his dropping of his primary bid against Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) had become a growing political liability.
“I think what the White House should do is, to some degree, say, ‘Here are the facts,’ ” Weiner said Monday morning during an appearance on MSNBC. “If there’s not a lot [to] what’s going on here, then just say what happened.”
…”When we’re having conversations like this three days after the nomination, that’s a problem,” said Weiner, who also expressed support for Sestak’s Senate campaign.
But the New York Democrat said the best way to do that was with some sort of release of information, which he said would bury the story.
“Someone has to help us out here, and I think the White House and Congressman Sestak need to make sure we’re not talking about this next week,” Weiner explained.
“Some sort of release of information.”
Translation: Some “sort of” illusion of meaningful disclosure to put the right-wing hounds at bay and kill the news momentum.
You know, like the bogus CBO reports released to help out the Dems before the passage of Obamacare.
That “sort of” thing.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall in the offices of Joe Sestak and the White House spin shop right now…

As we all know, Anthony Weiner is a right wing racist that is angry that there is a black man in the White House. Why else would he question the one?
Just another piece of information on a semmingly list of things Obama will not release and the press will not pressure him on.
As I posted in another thread, Obama could strangle someone on a city street and the press would cover for him.
Where is the “What did he know and when did he know it”from some Woodward/Bernstein type?Did it happen in a hotel?This could be some savvy reporters ticket to the hall of fame.No guts,no glory.
Absotively! This one could ring the bell. The irony is a thing of beauty.
Now Barry needs Sestak to save the seat from going GOP. Has to endorse him, but can’t without opening a huge ugly can of worms – Weeks of Gibbian stonewalling and evasion capped off with a classic obfuscation:
“I’ve talked to people that have talked to others in the White House. I’m told that whatever conversations have been had are not problematic.”
From “there was no conversation” to there were conversation[s], but we have decided they were okie dokie – and this determination comes from a nebulous friend of a friend of a friend – but certainly a reliable source.
So I asks myself, I says “Self, who in the WH would have a)the authority and b) the kahonas to offer a job as a bribe to effect a Senatorial election?” Then I answers. “Rahmbo or Axlerude”
The prospect of Rahmbo or the Axe kicked under the Barry Bus is way beyond sweetness.
“You can’t handle the truth!”
Doing nothing is doing something to some degree.
The media is burying the story.
Sounds like Weiner is trying to distance himself from the Obama Touch before this Novemeber.
It’ll be a cold day when Obama appoints a special prosecutor to investigate himself.
He’ll invite Nanny and Harry to conduct a thourough investigation.
I wonder which of the MSM rumpswabs will actually commit journalism on this?
Ooh! nevermind, I forgot Lindsay Lohan is back in court today.
When obuma and the rest of his crooked thieven friends are kicked out of the white house, I can only hope and pray that the next administration has the guts to let the American people know what went on.
There will be MANY people charged with so many illegal things it will make hugo chavez look like mother Theresa.
Probably have the same group that has been investigating Charlie Rangel look into it.
Keep the light focused on this for a bit. When I was a kid Presidents used to get in trouble for breaking laws and obstructing justice.
Where are the conservatives in Congress? Why isn’t one of them pushing back HARD on this matter? Bachmann? Wolf? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller, anyone?
I predict that the Obummer administration tries the same thing in November with Ed Case here in Hawaii. The Dem Party will endorse Colleen Hanabusa, and Obama will offer Case a job so that he doesn’t split the vote in Hawaii again.

Both Sestak and the White House should be more forthcoming. Sestak is being entirely too coy, and should name names. And, the White House is being unnecessarily unhelpful.
As are the media, of course.
Weiner is one of the sleeziest people in Congress, and that is saying a lot. He really turns my stomach.
