The great American road trip
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I’ve been spending a bit more time away from the blog as family time and summer planning have taken precedence. One of the big projects I’ve been organizing is something I’ve always dreamed of: a great American road trip. We’re renting an RV (first time!) and we’ll be taking off in coming days on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure across our beautiful land.
I’m going to try and stay as unplugged as possible, but may post some travel photos and will of course drop in here on the blog occasionally with new columns/lead stories. Doug Powers will hold down the fort while I’m offline, and a few more friends/guest-bloggers may stop by to keep you all informed and entertained.
In the meantime, feel free to share your favorite road trip/camping/fishing stories. Making memories with the kids — it doesn’t get any better, or more important, than this.

Fun fact: Famous RVers include…Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
