Obama High School Graduation Speech Not an Eye Opener

By Doug Powers  •  June 7, 2010 10:20 PM

President Obama gave the commencement speech Monday night at Kalamazoo Central High School, about 40 miles southwest of where I sit right now.

For some, the speech wasn’t exactly an eye-opener. From WOOD-TV, click the pic to roll the video of one young man’s long, slow descent into succumbing to an overdose of Hope & Change:

I’m with ya, pal.

Okay, for once I have to take pity on Obama and note that the overwhelming majority of HS, college and university graduation speeches made by guest speakers are boring enough to put people to sleep. At my wife’s graduation back in the 80′s the university decided to invite a U.S. Congresscritter who droned on and on and on for an hour and 15 minutes putting a lot of people to sleep. I lucked out at my graduation. The newly hired university President was the commencement speaker. His speech? 20 minutes. He definitely was a proponent of brevity.
