Friendly Advice for Alvin Greene
**Written by guest-blogger Doug Powers
So far, I like Democrat Senate candidate Alvin Greene, because he doesn’t really say much, and, as a result, I believe him.
Greene was the surprise winner in the Democrats’ South Carolina Senate primary, getting 59% of the vote, and, if a few unresolved legal issues are sorted out, he’ll face Jim DeMint in November — or not, whatever. Greene doesn’t seem too concerned either way.
Rarely do we stumble across a candidate like Alvin Greene, who can actually relate to the issues ordinary Americans face — unemployment and financial troubles — while at the same time possessing qualities and experiences that could make him a perfect fit with Congress and a useful advisor on issues relating to the SEC: A looming felony charge and an alleged affinity for Internet porn.
It seems like more people, especially Democrats, would be celebrating Greene’s historic win:
Greene won the contest with 59 percent of the vote and is now the first African American major-party U.S. Senate nominee in South Carolina since Reconstruction.
But no, instead, South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn has called for an investigation, claiming Greene might be a GOP plant:
House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) articulated the suspicion of many South Carolina Democrats this morning by suggesting that the state’s Democratic U.S. Senate primary victor Alvin Greene was a “plant.”
Greene, who is unemployed and lives with his mother, was the come-from-nowhere winner Tuesday after earlier paying $10,400 to register as a candidate and then seemingly disappearing from view. On Wednesday, the state’s Democratic leaders called on him to drop out of the race after it was revealed he has a felony obscenity charge pending against him for having allegedly shown a University of South Carolina undergraduate Internet porn and made “statements of going to the victim’s room,” according to the arrest warrant.
If convincing people that Greene’s candidacy is a lie doesn’t work, Clyburn might claim that Greene was the Tea Partier who was hurling racial slurs at him during the health care protest.
Here’s Keith Olbermann interviewing Greene last night, if you want to call it that. This interview is the political equivalent of “bay-see-ball been beddy beddy good to me,” but oddly enough, when I watch Mr. Greene, I don’t feel nearly as lied to as I do after listening to the run-of-the-mill Democrat. Greene could have easily won over Olbermann by calling Bush a nazi, but he took the high road instead and didn’t say… anything:

“Alvin Greene: Obama without the teleprompter” — start making the t-shirts.
My first piece of advice for Greene is this: Don’t change a thing. By saying virtually nothing, you’ve got the media more frustrated than the time Chris Matthews ran out of Puffs Plus during Obama’s inauguration speech, and the more frustrated they get, the more free press you get.
Second piece of advice: The next time a pasty talking head from a lily white network asks you how you got $10,000, get right in his or her face, and as loudly and as uncharacteristically for you as possible, yell, “Why? If a black man has some money it means he stole it?”
Maybe Alvin’s just waiting for the White House to call and make him an offer to drop out of the race. Hang in there, Mr. Greene! One way or another, I have a feeling you’ll have a job soon.

The funny thing about that is what does it say about all the Democrats in SC if Greene were a plant? Seems to me that if a GOP plant could fool that many Democrats they have bigger problems than Alvin Greene.
If you go onto Alvin Greenes web page and hit the link for the united korea, it directs you to a north korean propoganda web page. I kid you not. Every single link is hard core leftist. This guy may come off as a person who lost a head butting contest with a brick wall, but he may be more than he seems.
He probably WAS a plant. He doesn’t strike me as being smart enough to have actually gotten this far on his own.

Green will win the election because he’s black, not in spite of being black.
We’ve come a long way…………
….and we’re lost.
Absolutely. He could be the kind of “plant” that might get elected and do something nightmarish, like give $400 million to Hamas… oh, wait…
Hangfire,
Green may have won the Democratic primary because he’s black, but just like Obama won the Democratic primary but lost the general election in SC, I suspect the same will happen to Green.
If anyone thinks that last sentence is racist, read this.
Teleprompter lessons for Mr. Greene in 3..2..1
Is this guy greene related to van jones perhaps? Sounds like he could be.
L
Keef Olbertard has got to be the slimiest scumbag I’ve ever seen. Except for obama of course. I think obama and keef should get married someday. I’d support that.
Way off topic but hugely important-
BSU isn’t an academic fit for the Pac 10, but it’d be hard to argue a MWC with Utah, BYU, BSU and TCU is less deserving of an automatic BCS bid then, say, the Big East.
Talk that a&m might want to go to the SEC is fine with me. CU and CSU and Iowa and ISU play each year and aren’t in the same conference.
A Pac 14 would seem more workable than a super Pac 16, with one West Coast road trip a year.
I guess the money would be great to join the Big 10.5 or Big 11.5 or The Rust Bowl Conference or whatever it is called, maybe get Notre Dame and make a 14 team conference, but the nearest road games would be in Lincoln and Iowa.
I actually like the Big 12 the best, and if they could upset the MWC applecart by poaching Utah and BYU to fill the North division, or maybe TCU and Utah and move Okie State to the North, that’d be best for Texas.
If they are going to go Pac 16, might as well go Pac 20, or Big XX, or whatever, and have one interdivision game per year between the “PAC 10 Division” and “The Great Plains Division, the 10 remaining Big XII teams, and a playoff each year between either Texas and Oklahoma and whoever takes advantage of USC’s punishment for cheating for the next 3 or 4 years before USC starts appearing in every championship game again.
If obama and keef get married, who would be the woman?

something to make you smile.
From the video, I’d say that this guy should have been wearing his “Hemit and shoulder-ma-pads.”
“Like I’ve said before, I’ve always been a Democrat…”
BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
On the other hand, kudos to his military service to this country!
Or it could be that the brick wall is smarter than most DNC voters in SC. I don’t know. Works both ways.
Yeah, this guy is “dain-bramaged.”
Hilarious! This may be the best practical joke in the history of U.S. politics. Better than the Kenyan community organizer posing as our president.
Paging Mothra Croakely…
The establishment Marxist Party candidate couldn’t be bothered to spend a little coin on some public opinion polling or opposition research before the election?
When I heard the interview with him I thought he just might get elected because of all the press he is getting.
Also, did any of the voters think: Al Green??? Don’t underestimate the idiocy of the electorate.

With a little more polishing and talking points he’d make as much since and her.
This primary upset made me ROFL!!!
I think it’s perfectly clear that he heard that Guam was tipping, and decided to try to help try to change things.
By his keeping quite do you mean;
Better to be thought an idiot than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt….
And his fitting in…
Is that because he too -like many other government reps is accused of sexual harrassment?
Yep -he fits right in!
I’ve been to Guam. Let it tip.
I’ll get right on the Tshirt but you better buy one

Not to mention the fact that regardless of race, this guy is dumb as a post. Better to keep silent and let some think you’re a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
Gosh, all these facts about Mr. Greene must have been well hidden. Otherwise, our objective press, doing the vetting they’re supposed to do, would have uncovered it all before the election. I’m sure it would have been the same if he had been a Republican candidate.
*Hee hee, ha ha…! Sorry, couldn’t keep a straight face.
A “plant”? Really? Which I guess means the Lefties have already thought through the strategy, and probably tried it, and are projecting.
Obviously the Democrats who are telling him he should drop out are motivated by RAACIIISM!
Can you imagine what the MSM would be doing if the GOP were pressuring a black primary winner to exit the race in favor of a white GOP hack? Seriously?
And how pathetic must the Dim-o-crat establishment candidate be? He lost to a guy who DIDN’T CAMPAIGN! At all!
Just when I was proud of South Carolina for backing Nikki Haley…

Ditto.
I hope this guy wins. For the Dems to accuse this guy of being a plant, and yet vote for him in spite of no speeches, no campaigning, no ads, says something about the Dem electorate of SC.
And as far as looking at porn, if he doesn’t win the election, he can get a job with the SEC or the MMS.
What do you mean by “I hope this guy wins.” He has already won the Democrat Primary. He is now facing Jim DeMint in the general election. Frankly, and I know this is racist, but I would rather DeMint win the general election…
If you were running for Senate, and could pick your opponent, an unemployed uneducated, inarticulate, inexperienced guy with pending Felony obsenity charges would be a pretty good choice.
South Carolina is ingcreasingly looking like the political twilight zone.
*I thought Bubba Gump died in that movie with Tom Hanks!
*I can hear Rush now when he returns on Tuesday and says of Greene, “I hope he fails. Oh wait, I guess I missed that part”!
*Right now, the best there is as a Republican, yet the party continues to rebuff him; Their loss, our gain.
Yeah, well, we see how that worked out.
*Not if you are talking about Nikki Haley, who has East Indian roots; India, where the food is hot, and the women are hotter; I got lucky and married Nikki’s clone!
Well, we can’t all be rocket scientists, can we.
I’m willing to bet this man’s IQ is equal to or greater than most of the sitting members of Congress. The difference is that the sitting members of Congress have taken classes in public speaking. They don’t know what they are talking about, but they say it nicely.
I think the thing that this shows more than anything is that voters are willing to vote for anybody, even someone who they know nothing about. The question is why did they vote for him? Is it that they are voting against the establishment, is it that they saw what he put in the voters pahmplet (I would love to see what was in there for this guy as I heard he wrote it himself), is it that they foudn out he was black and they did not Olberman and Matthews to call them racists (remember this was the Dems primary), or is it some other reason all together?
Per Wikipedia
All the Mensa members who post here (and that is almost everyone, right) have decided that this guy is dumber than a box of rocks. But you know what, he is the candidate for the United States Senate for the sovereign state of South Carolina. Tonight, when the really smart people break out the Hamburger Helper and a tepid bottle of Ripple, this guy will be eating at a top notch restaurant courtesy of some mover and shaker who will explain how fund raising and the political system works. Who is the dumb one is not all that clear. Amazingly, the main stream media has given us more of a bio on Alvin Greene after two days, then they have produced about Obama after two years. I hope this unemployed dolt spends the living hell out of the democrat’s money for the next 5 months and puts a bunch of it into a numbered account in Bimini.
…just like Adam Clayton Powell.
For the first time in my life I’m proud of my Country for electing a real black man!
hey! sonofdy is here. Awesome. And sorry I’m late to this here party.
I’m surprised to see all the comments slamming this guy. Why do the heavy lifting when we’ve got Olbermann to do it for us? Hey, and how come it’s not “racist” to question the legitimacy of a black candidate who seems to have won fair and square? If this is who the people of SC want to run against DeMint, so be it.
Green may indeed be a “Plant”.
No Campaign, no commercials, bo web site, no organization, felony background.
Still 100,000 of South Carolinans voted for him!
What does that say about South Carolina?
Olberman’s voice is so unpleasant, grating on the nerves, and offensive, oozing venom, arrogance, condescension, and narcisism, that it is a most unpleasant experience to sit through that “interview” and subject myself to such an onslaught!
I still think the voters thought they were voting for the deceased singer/musician, Al Green.
This guy can’t be a Democrat. On numerous occasions during this interview he answered yes or no questions with just a yes or no. That’s not something a Democrat is capable of as far as I know.
Best speeches by any Democrat in years; one hundred thousand South Carolina Democrats appreciated that.South Carolina Democrats, as with Democrats every where, have no problem with a felony charge. Marion Barry ring a bell? If elected to the Senate Bro Greene can use US government computers to download internet porn as is now the norm.
“Vote for Alvin M. Greene-U.S. Senate-endorsed by bail bondsmen everywhere“
This is actually a commentary on the intelligence of Democrat voters: according to different stories, they simply checked off the first name in the list, or the one that looked the most “African American”.
Sometimes, the lefty goal of a dumbed down electorate works against them.
Advice for Greene: run, baby, run – but look in the rear view mirror for the obamabots.
Those wascally wepublicans! Who woulda thought that whilst shooting themselves in a circular firing squad, they could get it together enough to pull that off!
