Naughty Nickelodeon

Melinda Tankard Reist blew the whistle on sexualized video games offered on the Nickelodeon kids’ tv website a few weeks ago.
Newsbusters has more here. (Link fixed)
One of the games features players trying to look up the skirts of women.
I hear Tennessee Democrat Rep. Janis Baird Sontany is a big fan of that one.

I’m actually a HUGE fan of the show iCarly. Very funny show which hasn’t (yet) gone “liberal pinhead” on us. I’m guessing Dan Schneider (who writes and produces the show) isn’t much of a lib. Refreshing! But I am suprised and disappointed at the games noted above.
No doubt, gave her the idea for the comment. I wouldn’t pay a nickel for anything on that leftist brainwashing channel.
Whatever happened to the days when I would’ve been thrashed for playing with a Ouija board at a friend’s house? (See? ‘Cause we didn’t have one at home)
Michelle – The Newsbusters link goes back to the Reist site.
I wouldn’t let my kids on the net even with the parental filters. You can’t trust anyone with your kids.
Typical for Nickolodeon.
There’s one called “Spank the Monkey”
Wonder what they were thinking with that one????
losers.
What idiots thought this game was a good idea to put up for kids?
Obviously, the management there never matured past middle school themselves.
Nick is blocked on our cable box.
I think the same people that own CBS and Empty-V own Nick…
I’m shocked I tell you, shocked. We clearly need more FCC regulations. We must protect the children!

I know, I know, please call on me teacher, ooh ooh, call on me please!
I’d rather my kids watch Benny Hill than anything on Nick.
iCarly is a cute show. Wish it would change channels.
A Democrat. Imagine that….who’da thunk?
Just caught a Max and Ruby episode that taught kids about Environmentalism.
Found this little jem on the site:

Oops, meant “gem”…dang that keyboard!
In the New Age do whatever feeeelllsss good. No morality at all. That’s what is being pushed on TV, the Net, and in public schools.
Is there any wonder why so many children are having sex outside of marriage? Marriage is under attack too.
It’s called “demoralization”, and
it’s one of the four steps of “Ideological Subversion”.
All part of the Marxist/Leninist game plan.
Soupy Sales entertained me when I was a tike. I didn’t get a glimpse of the strippers on his show. Now the people behind the scenes just add a link and it’s your fault if you click. Machination is a good word — I wish we didn’t need it.
By definition, ALL programming and online services offered by Nick should be rated G. When Nick reaches the level to which Adult Swim as sunk, then it’s no longer children’s programming. It’s trash.
The game website isnt on the nickelodeon website. If you went to it on your own you would notice its nothing crazy, explicit, or crude. Some of its racy, but not horrible. What a misleading article
No cable in my house, just a set of rabbit ears we hardly ever use and a stack of DVDs taller than me. We decide what to watch.
There are several websites. Read through the links.
They used that name because “Flog the Dolphin” wasn’t PC enough!
And we were told the Tom and Jerry Show was violent. Times change. To raise small children now is harder than ever-brain snatchers in the most clever disguises.
Vulgarity is cool but Barbie Dolls give girls anorexia, Popeye causes kids to smoke and singing Christmas Carols is verboten. STRESS is caused by the unnatural suppression of the urge to choke a Liberal.

Exactly, AZ.
How is it misleading?
“They continue to link to AddictingGames.com on Nick.com and NickJr.com.” and “Nickelodeon promotes, and links directly to, Addictinggames.com on its Nick.com website for children and even on NickJr.com, its website for preschoolers.”
