Obama Porkway: Road Built With Stimulus Money Will Bear President’s Name

I’m only guessing that, when it’s completed, Pres. Barack Obama Parkway in Orlando, Florida will lead straight to the Magic Kingdom:
Is it too soon to name a road after President Barack Obama? A new road being built through Orlando will have his name.
Roads in Orlando honor some of our greatest presidents, from Washington to Jefferson and now Obama.
On Friday, Orlando leaders made President Barack Obama Parkway the first road under construction in the nation named after our 44th president, and surely one of the few in history to be named after a sitting president in his first term.

Two hundred jobs will be created to build the first $10.5 million phase of the road, which will connect with Metrowest Boulevard.
Most roads that are constructed are paid for with taxpayer dollars, but the fact that the first new road named after Barack Obama is being funded by his beloved “stimulus” is only appropriate.
If you’re in Orlando looking for this road, it’s just a mile west of the intersection of Hope and Change, and a half-mile east of the corner of Shovel and Ready. Why did local officials decide to name the stimulus road after the president? Because “A Blatant Attempt to Bankrupt America Boulevard” wouldn’t fit on the sign.
President Obama has a long way to go before surpassing Robert Byrd on the “stuff named after me that somebody else paid for” list, but if enough taxpayer money keeps being dumped into “shovel ready” projects, he’ll catch up in no time.

What another “waste” of tax-payers hard earned monies! Missouri just received multi-millions of TARP funds for, of all things, replacing lightbulbs with “toxic” so-called energy efficient bulbs!
Will they be delivered by state govt temporary workers – door-to-door?
MO’s Gov just cut the budget by millions of dollars from the mental health, education, elder care, and other critical services funding!
That TARP money should be used to restore those funds that MO citizens have worked so diligently to provide to the most vulnerable who have no voice in either the Fed’s or State govt’s idiotic decisions that severely affect the quality of life for our loved ones. jb

That is more appropriate. Obama is sinking our economy, and leading the country down the drain, and Florida is known for it’s giant sink holes.
The pkwy needs to ‘Cross’ MLK Blvd. It certainly doesn’t go the same direction.

It’s downhill in both directions. It would have to be. There won’t be any fuel to move the car so you’ll have to rely on gravity.

Call me cynical, but politicians for the most could care less about the needs and desires of their constituents once they have the votes needed to take from the people that put them in office. demicraps, liberals. Marxists what ever you wanna call them are at the head of that list.
Hopefully, it will go the way of the road I live near…Jimmy Carter Boulevard. It’s the road in my county to avoid because it’s a freaking nightmare!

Like most of us that post comments stating our disgust and frustration with this administration, Democrats & RHINOs, I have serious concerns about the very survival of our great Nation. I can only imagine the outcome and damage we would suffer if/when a terrorist attack like a 911 occurs with this group of clowns and criminals in charge. So, I send a little money each week to Conservative candidates in various races across the country. $10.00 here and there, (a couple of times more) may not decide a race, but certainly makes me feel better for at least doing something. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival … and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. I’d also throw in the “response” to the oil spill. No one can convince me that a concerted effort of experienced oil technology experts led by the US Navy could not have plugged the pipe within 30 days. The rejection of foreign help and the shut down of deep sea rigs all point me to this conclusion.
The explosion was caused by BP. What has occurred since has all been designed to destroy the economy of the Gulf, the US oil industry, and force the movement of the deep sea oil rigs to Brazil. All of this “helps” Obama’s agenda and Geroge Soros’ bottom line.
And launch a hundred investgations into criminal misconduct.

I’m not completely convinced that Bho is all that brilliant. I think that he has had some happy accidents and is good at deception and gaming the system. He is not good at predicting the unintended consequences of his actions and is driven by a massive self interest which masks his ability to see that he’s being manipulated. He has lied and cheated his way to the top, which has left him without a track record of accomplishing anything. His overall immaturity will cause him much distress. Has he changed tactics? No. He keeps presenting the same tired methods of selling policies that no one wants. It’s approaching insanity here. He has a small window left to ram the rest of his legislation for all his commie, marxist, socialist and progressive thugs to complete the power grab. What he has done should be called treason and be prosecuted as such. No one made him run for POTUS or to take the oath of office. Since he did it willingly and with the full knowledge that he hated the Constitution, he has sealed his own fate. Czars without congressional oversight, ability to cancel companies without worrying about those pesky laws (think Fannie, Freddie, WHO, IMF, and GM). Tell each agency in the gubmint your budget is between 0% and 50% of last years budget depending on whether you actually do anything, so deal with it. If the next president has gones, she or he (though I haven’t seen that guy other than Christie) could break the back of the leftist gubmint in this country in less than 2 years. We all need to be involved. The ‘miracle’ of Scott Brown was accomplished with out of state help, by either donations or by volunteering to call (through the campaign’s 800# phone bank) from out of state to support his candidacy. There are plenty of good candidates out there battling entrenched incumbents that would more than appreciate out of state help. The other thing is to call retirement/nursing/assisted living homes and see if their residents need absentee voter forms or a ride to the polls. Get Grandma and Grandpa out to vote.

If he was so brilliant, he would not have made the speaking errors that he has. “Police acted supidly”, “ass-kicking”, “share the wealth”…too many dumb comments to count! As long as he has a speech written FOR him, and the TOTUS doesn’t break down, he can get away with “looking” smart. He has a lot of people fooled. But he is getting TIRED! We need a law banning naming anything after any politician.

I actually drove past that yesterday and thought it was weird. It’s in a VERY upscale area- down the street from the Mall at Millenia, which is host to such stores as Tiffanie’s, Chanel, and Gucci.
What’s that little blue symbol at the right end of the street signs? Is that supposed to signify that they have organic street lights or something?
Who was the stupid, commie, giverment employee that made the decision, to name a street after the communist living in the White House, as Victoria Jackson sings about him?
He’ll insist on having his very own mountain. In fact, his ego demands a monument in each of the 57 states. And he isn’t going to share any space, least of all with dead white presidents.
