Video: Pete Stark pisses all over voters concerned about border security
Just when I think Pete Stark Raving Mad can’t sink any lower in his vulgar contempt for voters, he sinks ever lower again. (Review Stark’s Greatest Unhinged Moments here and here.)
At his latest encounter at a town hall, Stark Raving Mad mocks Bay Area constituents expressing outrage at our lax immigration policies. To a member of the northern California Minutemen, Steve Kemp, Stark snarks:
“Who are you going to kill today?”
In response to concerns about violence at the porous, unsecured border, Stark retorts:
“Our borders are quite secure, thank you.”

I would think that, in this day and age, the nation would be more successful in prohibiting illegal immigration than Chief Powhatan in Virginia Colony and Chief Massasoit in Massachusetts Colony did.

I wonder if those in the audience ever realized Stark wasn’t listening to them and was arrogantly mocking them.
Elected officials like him are the reason the Tea Party is going to vote them out.
When I say Tea Party, I’m not referring to those who have dubbed themselves offical spokespersons for the movement. I’m talking about all like minded Americans who don’t attend Tea Party meetings or even give credence to an “official” tea party. These are the people just waiting for the elections in order to vote people like Stark out and put people in who have like minded goals of less government, reducing the spending and removing anyone or anything that looks like it has a socialist smell to it. We’ll spot a fraud and anyone who pretends to have the same values as the majority of us clod hoppers in conservative America.
One of the most effective ways to hit the target, figuratively speaking, is to use a scatter gun and remove them all. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s a Democrat running for dogcatcher, he doesn’t get my vote. Neither does the RINOs among us.

Anyone believing that the border is secure should have to spend a week in a tent there and see if the facts support their opinions.

I agree with you on term limits. What will be the unintended consequences of term limits if ever implemented? We can be sure there will be unintended consequences. Some of those consequences might be shifting power from elected officials to a pseudo-bureaucracy of permanent congressional staffs. Or, that power might devolve to the executive branch bureaucracies.
Neither of those outcomes would be good and either might turn out to be worse than what we have right now. How term limits are implemented would be a key consideration.
One other point that has come up, specifically regarding JD Hayworth and his stupid ads. We must remember that all congresscritters are equally corruptible. However, not all concresscritters are equally corrupt at this moment in time.
It is likely that anyone elected to congress will become more corrupt over time. Term limits provide some potential relief.
However, in the relative case between Hayworth and McCain, the latter is already utterly corrupt. Hayworth is relatively speaking less corrupted now but the longer he is in power the more corrupted he will certainly become. We, the people, need to exercise oversight at the ballot box closely to insure he doesn’t succumb to “Washington-itis” too quickly. When he does, he needs to get retired.
Hayworth is not perfect but he has got to be better than McCain on a whole range of issues. But, we need to carry a big stick to remind him who he ultimately works for. And we need to constantly remind him that his position is predicated on performance. [Geez, that almost sounds like a LOTE argument...]
