The return of Adnan Shukrijumah

Adnan Shukrijumah. Does the name ring a bell? It should if you have been a regular reader of this blog since its inception in 2004.
In August 2004, I reported on the FBI search for the high-profile fugitive and al Qaeda operative billed as the “next Mohammed Atta.” There’s been a $5 million bounty on his head for six years. He has been reportedly spotted at or near the Mexican border and allegedly has met with Latin American gangs. In 2007, his name came up in wiretaps related to the busted NYC/JFK bombing plot.
Well, he’s still on the loose. And he’s still apparently hard at work on global jihad.
Rusty at the Jawa Report has the latest on his connection to the recent 2010 NYC subway bombing plot:
Adnan G. El Shukrijumah may have met with one of the men involved in the failed al Qaeda plot to blow up the New York City subway. Press reports do not indicate who Shukrijumah met with, but the plot’s leader was a Colorado man named Najibullah Zazi.
Adnan Shukrijumah is a wanted al Qaeda terrorist who was at one time suspected of planning a dirty bomb attack against the US. Shukrijumah was born in Saudi Arabia but raised in the US. At one time alerts were issued that he might try and cross into the US through Mexico. There is a $5 million reward for information on his whereabouts from the FBI.
Zazi may have met Shukrijumah in an al Qaeda camp in 2008. The Washington Post claims that Shukrijumah “is among the top candidates to be al-Qaida’s next head of external operations”.
This would make sense given that the plot to blow up the subway is said to have been ordered by Saleh al-Somali, al Qaeda’s former head of external operations, since killed in a Predator strike (Allahu-akbar!). Zazi originally went to Pakistan to join the Taliban, but was recruited by al-Somali to join al Qaeda instead.
If Zazi met with Shukrijumah, then it would have been in Waziristan. Meaning the the al Qaeda operative was in Pakistan in 2008, and not in Central America as some have speculated.
They don’t rest. Neither should we.

Hmmm… I guess Adnan didn’t get the memo from Pete Stark that our borders are “quite secure”. Good thing we have all those federal signs in Arizona to scare him away.
We need a full court press on this guy, unfortunately, I don’t think weakling Obama has the “malkins” to do what is necessary.
Shak!
I was happy and surprised to see Mosab Hassan granted asylum. Funny how someone converting from islam and therefore at dire risk of becoming room temperature for that reason alone by his former comrades (if not by his terrorist father) could somehow be reason to keep someone in the United States. Talk about tacit admission about the violent radicalism that islam represents, and he still almost got sent back to his almost certain death anyway. Yes, he was at risk because of the information he was able to provide us, but that he was so close to being sent back reveals a lot about our current administration.
Who will shoulder the blame when the next major terrorist attack is by someone who comes across the border from Mexico? Those who don’t want our border protected for political reasons are playing a very dangerous game and the citizens of this country will be the losers. Every single traitor who has stonewalled the common sense efforts of the majority to get our illegal alien problem under control will be culpable in the next tragedy.
Yes, I remember. Hope they catch this guy.
*I remember this fellow well; I had my own personal suspicions that he was operating out of Canada; In any case, or along either border, WE know they are not resting, but we also know that Janet Naps and this administration are asleep at the wheel, and a big kaboom awaits; Sad but true!
It’s OK though. The border is waaay secure. Just ask Biden or Stark-raving-mad. *puke* Oh, sorry.

The edges of this sign are very sharp. Utilize care when sneaking past.
Obama: “uhhh…if we keep putting $5 million bounties on the heads of America’s enemies, how are we going to pass comprehensive immigration reform??”
Lets get the drug cartels to kidnap the terrorists for ransom. That would fix the border and make our congressmen proud.
America’s southern border is a shooting range. A seeker of an afterlife of virgins is on that range and “accidents” do happen.
Give a SEAL team the word and this guy will last all of 2 weeks. Same for the Mexican jackasses squatting on federal land in Arizona. Let’s get busy.
Boy, if I had a name that looked like somebody spilled a box of “Scrabble” tiles, I’d be a little cranky also!
I mean come on, Adnan Shukrijumah? That looks like the result of a reverse alphabet field sobriety test gone awry, drunk or sober!
Its too bad some coyote or drug cartel enforcer could not have a close encounter with an M16A2 Bouncing Betty.
That would do more to seal the border than 2,000 troops or a wall.
Yep, me too. A few sightings in Maine (with Idey) in 2003 – one in Naples the other Midcoast.
The only thing more frightening than the next terrorist attack is the number of people in this nation as well as oters who do not believe there is a threat or that we are at war with these animals. (many apologies to actual animals for the insult)
Regrettably, and though people get skewed for saying such, you’re going to need one horrific event here at home once a while to jolt these fatal short-term memories about taking the right (and often “unpopular”) preventive and preemptive measures.

I can imagine a rather ugly incident this fall that “forces” Obama and crony to grab more power. Don’t waste a Good Crisis Mr. President.
Darn tootin’, MM, but the current occupant of the WH would disagree.
Doesn’t opium fund terrorism in Afghanistan?
Could drugs coming across the Mexican border start funding terrorism?
Any Mexican/SA cartel v.s. Arab/Muslim cartel wars down there?
One of the few things protecting us from the next major terrorist assault is that the latest round of Al Qaeda morons are even stupider than the Obama morons pretending to run the country.
Of course, we can’t count on Al Qaeda continuing to recruit people that stupid! Eventually, they are going to find someone smarter than Obama & Co.
