Comprehensive immigration platitudes; Updated
President Obama will deliver another worthless speech this morning. Don’t take my word for that. The open-borders lobby itself has such “low expectations” that some of its activists are wishing for the days of open-borders Bush.
The White House says it won’t offer any specific policy proposals. But there will be plenty of paeans paid to “comprehensive immigration reform” — second only to “hope and change” as the most vapid, emptiest rhetorical construction in Washington.
With Janet Clownitano in charge at DHS and sovereignty-undermining staffers like illegal alien sanctuary coddler Harold Hurtt and Arizona-bashing ICE chief John Morton, Obama’s appointments tell us all we need to know about his substantive disregard for secure borders and homeland security.
I said on Fox and Friends this morning that it feels like a 2006 time warp. Expect Obama’s speech leading into the Independence Day weekend to channel many of the same open-borders “nation of immigrants” platitudes George W. Bush/Karl Rove peddled before pushing mass amnesty.

Speaking to lawmakers, academics, and community leaders gathered at American University, Obama touted hi plan by stressing the immeasurable contributions that immigrants have made to the United States, and the frequent discrimination they faced throughout history. “Immigrants have always helped to build and defend this country,” Obama said.
Strawman:
As for critics of “amnesty,” Obama said it’s simply impossible to deport 11 million people, and doing so would disrupt communities and break up families, as undocumented immigrants have children who are U.S. citizens because they were born here.
And baseless scare-mongering on profiling as an excuse not to cooperate with local and state law enforcement:
“These laws also have the potential of violating the rights of innocent American citizens and legal residents,” Obama said, “making them subject to possible stops or questioning because of what they look like or how they sound.”

…the speech also relied heavily on sentimentality, most of all when Obama closed with the story of Emma Lazarus, and the sonnet she wrote for the Statue of Liberty, “The New Colossus.” It was a moving finish, despite Obama incorrectly reciting the famous line as “yearning to be free” instead of “yearning to breathe free.”

I refuse to watch Zero peddle his wares on tv today. I used to switch to The Weather Channel when his face appeared on Fox, but that’s no longer an option. TWC, having become an arm of NBC’s propaganda machine, shows every dang speech Zero makes. Yuck!

“Nation of immigrants”. So that means we can never halt or curtail immigration? Even if immigration is to the detriment of Americans?
“It’s not amnesty”. Mcamnesty’s favorite BS line.
‘We can’t secure such a long border by enforcement means alone.” Ummm, we did for 200+ years before PC became the mantra of the whimpy gov’t now in place.
“We must change the immigration system to have meaningful reform”. In other words, we need to increase legal immigration to such high levels that there is no reason to come illegally. Immigration will drop off naturally (ie when it is no better to live here than 3rd world countries)
“Tearing families apart”. Easy. Deport the entire family. This problem is easily solved by addressing the misinterpretation of the 14th amendment, but the pols are to scared to do what it takes to secure our country.
“Doing jobs Americans won’t do”. “Pick our produce”. Then why is there only a very small percentage working on farms. The vast majority take jobs in desirable industries for non college grads.
“They only come here for jobs and to feed their families”. Oh yea, then why is such a large percentage of our prison population illegals?
From the Repubs: “Hispanics are a natural fit for the GOP values”. No. The vast majority are a natural fit for the party that gives them more and more free stuff (free to them) and panders to them constantly. In other words, democrats.
And my favorite; “illegals provide more value to our society than the services they consume. They pay SS and taxes but get nothing in return”. My eyes are about to roll out of my head. All factual statistics show different when all the monetary costs to society are considered.
The list goes on and on but we have heard the same BS lines form our pols for decades now.
Eliminate the Magnets that draw them here (jobs, welfare, citizenship, etc) and Enforce the laws ruthlessly. That is the only SUSTAINABLE long term solution that is in the best interest of the American citizenry.
Suppose he did take the dare and announced he was executing anmesty by executive order. What’s the lead time to repeal/veto/slap down such a measure? Before the elections? Could he bank on the illegal-made-legal “gratefulness factor” kicking in come Nov and preserving for Dems what might’ve been a Conservative sweep? If he did announce excecutive ordered amnesty, in what way could it be a drawback to him? It might well be a long-term win-win for him. (Of course, the black community and “Leaders” are clueless to the ramifications such would reek on job-strapped black youth and men.)

My question to the President, the VP, and the Attorney General is “what gives you the right to not enforce Federal laws that have been passed by the Congress and signed into law by the President?”

Dr. Fukino’s first statement did not say that she had inspected Obama’s birth certificate, but merely that she had verified that they have it on file. (And a Kenyan birth certificate could have been on file as part of his parents’ divorce, but several numbered pages of the divorce settlement are missing).
Many people assumed that Dr. Fukino’s first news release meant that Obama was born in Hawaii, and the Associated Press and FactCheck.org both lied and said Fukino had said on October 31, 2008 that Obama was born in Hawaii, but she did not say that then.
It was not until many, many months later, when the U.S. House of Representatives passed resolution 593 saying, in part, “Obama was born in Hawaii”, that Dr. Fukino then released another statement saying “Obama was born in Hawaii”. Fukino also said that Obama was a natural-born citizen, but realize that Fukino could have been once again relying on Nancy Pelosi in order to make that statement. Pelosi had signed a notarized document saying Obama was “legally qualified, under the provisions of the United States Constitution”. Since, in order to be “legally qualified, under the provisions of the United States Constitution” to be President of the United States, one must be a “natural born citizen”, Pelosi effectively swore that Obama is a natural born citizen.

If Obama is not a natural born citizen, then Pelosi is GUILTY OF PERJURY!
Isn’t it worth doing due diligence, and finding out what documents and what legal reasoning was used by Pelosi in order to make that statement under oath?
“Low Expectations” seems to be the norm for this administration. Border security, oil leaks in the gulf, a country drowning in red ink, and the freedoms of the American people all take a back seat to the false dreams of the idiot in charge. God knows that we can do better in the up coming elections.

Let’s say there is a “comprehensive” amnesty plan that promises to secure the border. First they give the amnesty. Do you really expect that they are going to give amnesty and then turn around and piss off all these new voters by closing the border to all their friends and relatives?
Obama has already said it is imposssible to secure the border, but then promises it as part of an amnesty deal.

Better bring all of our military personal home to guard the border or start draft if amnesty is given. The 12-20 million illegals already in this country will seem like a small expeditionary force compared to the invasion amnesty will set off.

Well said, I’m in 100% agreement…don’t need no stinnnkin new laws, we need the laws we have on the books enforced, as you said “harshly”. That goes for both illegal ALIENS and the employers. We start fining(with huge fines, $250,000 1st. offense and double every following offense) and sending employers to jail, not the on site manager either, I’m talking the big cheese, the CFO’s, the CEO’s and MGB’s(money grabbing bastards) to jail you’ll see these hirings stop now and never be thought of again.
While I’m on a rant, easy punishment is one big reason the country is in the trouble it is in now. Liberal judges allowing t.v.’s, law libraries in jails and prisons, weights, small home devices in their cells, bull$hit. they get a cell with a decent temp., basic, very basic food and work if they want it or not. I believe in making punishment fit comparative to the crime committed. I don’t need to be called compassionate because I was lenient with the criminal, I want the crime paid for, period.
