Pelosi: Unemployment Checks Best Way to Create Jobs

Nancy Pelosi is around the bend even more than usual these days:
Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed Thursday.
Speaking to reporters, the House speaker was defending a jobless benefits extension against those who say it gives recipients little incentive to work. By her reasoning, those checks are helping give somebody a job.
“It injects demand into the economy,” Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. “It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”
In the real world, demonstrating lunacy of this magnitude is known as a “cry for help” and an intervention involving large nets, straight-jackets and electric shock therapy is in order. But not in Washington, DC, where free-range crazies are allowed to pick pockets, loot futures, and all too often get re-elected.
I think I’m catching on to Pelosi’s line of reasoning though (which, frankly, frightens me): If unemployment is the best way to create jobs, then the economy won’t be fully functioning until nobody’s working, and that’s another goal Obama, Pelosi, Reid & company can now boast about helping us get closer to. (Sister Toldjah has the Pelosi video just in case reading it wasn’t alone enough to make you ill)
Meanwhile, in Racine, Wisconsin, President Obama reminded everybody that they should be happy that the unemployment rate isn’t even higher (Why? According to Stretchy McHugegavel we need the unemployment rate to go up in order to create those extra jobs).
This is like listening to the world’s worst football coach motivating a team that’s down by 30 points at halftime by reminding them that they’d be down by 50 if it weren’t for his superior team-prep, organizational and executive skills:

Let’s see now. The government told Kevin Costner and foreign countries that are not allowed to help clean up the gulf unless their tools remove 99.995% of the oil from the water and not the 99% they promise.
A couple of days ago, Big Sis assured us that there is no point even attempting to secure the borders because no plan would be 100% effective in stopping illegal traffic.
Maybe the Pelosi rule is that there is no point trying to create ANY private sector jobs unless the plan eliminates 100% of the unemployment.
These pod people just have higher standards than we humans do.

Has anyone else noticed that whenever Obama talks about Republicans and criticizes something they are doing, he puts his hand up to his face as if to scratch it, and uses his middle finger. Just watch for it. I saw it today, and have seen it before. It is very subtle, but it is deliberate. He is giving the finger to anyone who opposes him, and he doesn’t care who sees it. Talk about a snarky, childish, egotistical POS! He disgusts me. A word of caution…when he is voted OUT in 2012, we must keep track of him and his cronies. I thought he discovered a new beer yeast that delivered a smooth fruity base with peppery notes and a light finish? Never mind.
Do you remember when VP Biden was asked about giving checks to families to spur the economy? His response was, “No, that wouldn’t work. We wouldn’t be able to control how the money was spent.” Considering that 70% of the US economy was consumer-based, it didn’t make much sense. Ms. Pelosi finally figured it out – if you let the individual decide where to spend the money, it works better and more efficiently. Not saying that unemployment compensation is a good way to jump start the economy, I just think that she accidentally backed into a better solution – let the consumer decide.
The spin is that what she is saying has some truth to it. If you give money out to people, they spend it buying groceries, rent etc. That means that grocery stores, and landlords are able to hire clerks, gardeners, pool cleaners etc. Those jobs are therefore created because without the unemployment payments, people would not buy stuff and those jobs would be eliminated. Those people whose jobs are eliminated would also not pay for groceries and rent so more jobs would be eliminated.
Therefore, she is saving those jobs and therefore by association, creating jobs.
Who can’t understand that? It just plain ole common sense. Right?
Of course, that means leaving off the other side of that algebraic equation, which is taxes are used to make those payments and those taxes take dollars from citizens that they would have either spent themselves (creating jobs in the process) or saved in the bank so the bank could loan that money to people to start business, fund exisitng business growth (and therefore jobs), or buy houses, cars, boats, etc (which also create jobs).
Typical liberal lie. Only tell half the story and purport that to be the truth when it is anything but the full and honest truth. It was meant to deceive.
But her target audience is stupid Democrat voters so she knows she will get away with it.

Rachel Maddow was spewing a similar viewpoint last week. I had to laugh all over myself and wonder if this was the latest talking point. This confirms it.
I think that goes under the Obamacare mantle. Big Sis said we HAD to have it, Kathleen Silliness concurred that it was a necessary Overseas Contingency Operation, and panicked ‘journalists’ reported that we were all going to die. I don’t think the statistics showed that it was any worse than any other influenza breakout, and the related deaths were the usual suspects, older/infant patients, those with contributing illnesses, etc. I’m sure the taxpayers are going to pick up the costs, but then, look how many jobs were created and/or saved – or in the words of The One Stretched Tighter Than A Braunschweiger Skin – look how many can become fully employed by becoming unemployed.

The best way to stimulate the economy with money would be to take the money, change it into twenties, and drop it out of airplanes. That way people would just pick up the money and spend it, without distorting their lives in an effort to get it.
Or, alternatively, they could just let us keep the money in the first place.

Hey you would almost be my neighbor! The economy is doing reasonably well here. I keep hearing that Canada is in the best shape of the “developed countries”. Thankfully our relatively conservative federal government chose not to add a mountain of economy crushing debt just to pay off political supporters. The MSM appears to be shocked that this strategy hasn’t worked in the US yet.

If the Republicans win a majority of the seats in the House, Pelosi will no longer be Speaker of the House and she will no longer control the House agenda.
Taking away her Speaker’s gavel after an embarrasslingly high number of Republican victories in November, is the best way to convince Pelosi to retire in 2012.
The work we do early in the election season to select the strongest possible Republican candidates in Primary elections and then to support their campaigns for the election in November will have the biggest impact!

Pelosi’s district (CD-8) in San Francisco is gerrymandered to create a very safe seat for her. The portions of the city that include more conservative homeowners have specifically been excluded from Pelosi’s district. As a result, Pelosi represents the most liberal portion of the most liberal city in the country. And she typically wins with 70-80% of the vote.
With such a safe seat Pelosi does not need to spend her campaign dollars in San Francisco. Instead she uses the millions of campaign dollars she raises to support other Democrat candidates around the country. She also travels to the districts of these Democrats to appear at fundraisers for these candidates.
Pelosi is famous for the “favor file” that she learned to keep when her father was a Politician in Baltimore.
After she raises money for these candidates she calls in her favor when it is time to vote for Speaker of the House.
This is why it is so important to make sure Pelosi receives a BIG Tea Party “Welcome” whenever she attends a fundraiser for a candidate in your district.
If the Tea Party patriots can make a local visit from Nancy completely toxic for a candidate, it will drain Pelosi of the power she holds over Democrats.
Now hear this: Near midnight this past Thursday, Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Big Labor apologists in the U.S. House of Representatives disgracefully amended pending war funding legislation to include the Police and Firefighter Monopoly Bargaining Bill.
So glorious House Speaker sneakers in a union perk on a must pass bill. Is this action supported by her oath of office? Has the Speaker of the House ever been impeached?
Article II, Section 4: The President an all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachement for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.
