Bush Derangement Syndrome: 4th of July Fireworks Edition
**Written by guest-blogger Doug Powers
This morning I woke up, counted all my fingers (somehow they’re all still there), fished the exploded cardboard remnants of some fireworks out of the bottom of the pool, checked my email, and was informed of just about the only kind of firework I didn’t see last night.
From reader Mark:
Came across this little beauty yesterday while perusing fireworks at a stand in Oklahoma: “Ambushed” complete with a picture of W and the subtitle “The 436 billion dollar deficit man.” I was accompanied by my conservative 22 year-old son and 20-year-old daughter, and when I asked the clueless salesperson whether or not they had an alternative that was 4 times larger with Obama’s picture on it all I caught was a cow-eyed stare and the sound of chirping crickets.
Here’s the picture Mark sent:

Presumably from the manufacturer of the George W. Bush toilet.
I’d heard of the Exploding Bin Laden firework, but not “Ambushed.” They have the wrong president’s picture on a firework dedicated to exploding federal deficits these days. There should also be a picture of Congress on there just to make it more appropriate.
By the way, somebody did make an Obama firework — it was called “The Tingler” and a lot of people were all excited and got it, but it ended up being all fuse and no bang, wildly expensive even though the label said it was free, gave off too much smoke and you could only use it on a golf course, so its popularity, like The Tingler itself, fizzled out quickly. Some were also frustrated because in some aspects they couldn’t tell it apart from the Bush firework.

Happy Birthday America…it’s still the greatest and best county to live in, even if there is a communist living in the White House. We’ll neuter him soon enough and start the recovery.
Now about “exploding budgets” why is it most Americans do not understand exactly who it is that controls the givernments purse strings?
Well, President Bush gets blamed for everything under the sun from this bho and team daily. This is really getting old big time!
L
Good Marxist pimps pushing the message as classic useful idiots. Willful ignorance is no excuse. The Pocket Lenin in the White House will soon get his due. Come 2011 we can cut the taxes and spending and start the grand jury investigations, and begin true Constitutional reform to cage this statist beast forever..
These crimes must be trumpeted constantly before the people.
Blaming Bush is not going to go away. Even if it backfires on Obama it doesn’t matter. Its one of the symptoms causing me to conclude some of the political animals in this country need to be in recovery. Despite the facts to the contrary and the damage they are doing to their own credibility, they still keep blaming Bush. Its like an addiction.
I have a brother who is quite intelligent and successful. Makes more money then me. Just filed for his third divorce and finds any possible explanation to keep blaming Bush. And he sees no connection between his serial divorcing, the way he thinks and maybe him blaming Bush is not about Bush deserving blame buy about a way of thinking that is unhealthy.
He feels better about his life by blaming Bush.
You know, how folks feel better about their drinking because their wife/husband/boss/kids don’t understand them?
This Bush blaming thing is a symptom of an unhealthy way of thinking.
And don’t get him started on Big Oil, conservative Bible believing Christians, Dick Cheney and Fox News……
And these crimes have to be punished not swept under the rug due to the prestige that normally would accompany such an august group of individuals. Hardly the case with this group of liars and thieves.
jsmiddleton4 #6,
You must have a fun time at holiday dinners with your brother!
L
This an off to do some early chores before too hot….
We on the right have to be on guard in doing the same thing with Obama. We seem to spend a lot of time blaming Obama and working real hard at being “right” in our criticism. As if being “right” in our criticism is the same as moving forward in a positive direction.
We need to educate and implement conservative ideals and show people what conservative governing looks like as an option. Just being negative, even when we are right, falls into the same trap as these folks have fallen into by their Bush blaming. It feels good to blame someone. However even in being right, does little to further the cause or change anything.
People with no solutions or good ideas have to live in the past. Continuing to Bush bash may make them feel better, but it does nothing to correct the very things they say are wrong. We can’t take our little time machines back and replace Bush with Gore or Kerry. Whinny voters need to get over themselves. Bho isn’t fixing anything either and yet those with BDS don’t focus on that. Bho’s failure is not Bush’s fault but the Bho voters fault for installing a teleprompter focused community organizer instead of a Constitution loving patriot.
“You must have a fun time”
There was some stammering and stuttering going on when I showed my brother how IF BP had listened to Big Oil there would have been no oil spill and asked “How can one blame Big Oil when Big Oil told BP to knock it off?”
Then it was Dick Cheney’s secret meetings with Big Oil that was the problem because Cheney allowed Big Oil to drill only one well and everywhere else in the country Big Oil has to drill two wells at the same time in case a leak they have a relief well in place.
So I showed him all the information that there is no requirement to have two wells in place, environmental groups are opposed to two wells because it is in the drilling that spills happen and two wells is twice as risky and NO WHERE are two wells required.
Then it was Bush’s fault.
The point?
Folks that are blaming Bush are not about facts. They are about what makes them feel better. It makes them feel better to have someone to blame. Its Bush’s fault is not going to go away because we on the right can factually show them it is not Bush’s fault. Their minds are made up because their minds are made up. Its a waste of time to argue with them.
It is not a waste of time to move forward with positive plans, educating folks on why conservative ideals are THE and ONLY answer.
Blaming Obama, while true, is likely to get us no where as its preaching to the choir.
If our response to the blame Bush stuff is to blame Obama louder, we’re doomed.
*There is a P-BO named firework out there all over the country; We call them duds!
*BDS will always be with us, and it’s ok to comment on it from any perspective, but we must heed the call of todays’ Paul Revere, Glenn Beck, as he claims, “The progressives are coming, the progressives are coming”; He’s right, so we Tea Party Patriots must intently focus on doing battle at the ballot box; It may be our last chance.
I thought Glen Beck’s cry was “Buy my book, buy my book…”
Bush Derangement Syndrome indeed.
To all American patriots, Happy 4th of July.
Dems are absolutely demented.
I constantly see them rail in a frothing tirade about deficits, spending and wars in every past Republican administration and then libs just about have a cave in when I ask.
Wow, you must be just ready to revolt over what this President’s doing, huh?
I was watching Cavuto on Fox last week, and the guest host Varney, has a d gal on trying to say we need new stimulus money to get jobs. The very first words out of her mouth were, what we inherited from the Bush administraion! I thought it was funny, Varney told the gal her first words were to blame Bush.

Ten years after Obama is out of office, he will be revered as an elder statesman and be completely rehabilitated.
Look at Jimmah Cawder.
Also, many are ignorant on how government works. Presidents don’t spend the money. Congress does. He can suggest and try to influence someone to sponsor his ideas, but congress is the ultimate decider. If I recall, a lot of democrats voted for spending. Nothing, of course, is mentioned about that. But, then again, it’s easy to lie to ignorant “useful idiots”.
No truer words, a friend who by his own admission is a yellow dog democrat finally saw the light after I explained, with facts, how the Obama administration is subjecting everyone’s rights and headed towards pure socialism. He has even taken to watching Fox News and (gasp) Glenn Beck.
Other than Roberts and Alito, Bush was a disaster, and I cannot defend him. His incompetence led to Obama getting elected.
Bush was not my favorite and I find more than just a few things to quarrel about; but the weenie attacks on him force me to defend him. As with his father he was big government and all too internationalist. His understanding of the Bill of Rights was lacking. All too much of the Party got overly generous with our money in the last few years-they need to retire.
But in no way was he the traitor we have in the White House now. But follow the SOBs-know your enemy-think of it as reconnaissance.

Let your sidearm be like Master Card:
Don’t Leave home without it.
People don’t know as much as they need to about how government works; that’s why they don’t always have good grasps on what the President can and can’t do. Does anyone else get grouchy when the media starts talking as though the President is in charge of Congress in some way? To be fair, I think some members of Congress need the actual situation there clarified as well…
It’s relatively easy to get copies of the Constitution and read it to get a clearer view of who does what. So there IS hope.
Bush had flaws, but in no way deserves the level of hatred he gets, and I’d definitely take him over Obama. I have some admiration of Bush, too, for a couple of different reasons, even though I felt he was much too big government.
Trade mark infringement!
I’m sorry Doug, but you must cease and desist the use of this term without prior written permission from my wife, as that name has been reserved for me, or at least a very special part of me.
Would like to see letters mailed by MILLIONS of Americans to the F’ing morons in Washington DC that state the following (Ripped off from George Ure):
*sigh*
Like it did any good for the healthcaare bill, StimulUS, TARP and other Bull$hit that passes for legislation these days…at least they will be on notice for what will happen (God-willing) when they are voted off the island…
It’s kinda the same way with Palin for me. I don’t like her support for John McCain at all, and I don’t know if she’s ready for the Oval Office, but the attacks on her from the Left go way above and beyond what’s justified.
Problem is, there’s a fine line between defending someone from attacks, and attaching yourself to that person because of those attacks. I think that’s a mistake a lot of conservatives made with Bush. They were so incensed (justifiably) by the insane attacks from the moonbats that they were willing to brook no (or very little) criticism of him from their own side. And so by attaching themselves so tightly to him, his failures became looked upon as conservative failures in the eyes of the public.
Things were pretty darn good until the Demonrats took Congress at the end of 2006. Everything has sucked since 2007. What a coincidence.
Of course, 98% of Obama Lovers have NO IDEA what Congress is. No clue about a House and Senate, etc. Clueless.
If that little can of fireworks is what Bush gets for his piddling deficit, then they should paint Øbama’s picture on a case of C-4 with the phrase “Fast track to the Øbamanation” or something similar.
Probably leftover inventory from 2 years ago. Wait until next year, when you’ll see a dumpster sized unit with Obama’s name on it.
If someone made an Obama firecracker, the Secret Service would be all over them. They would be manhandled and abused, their homes and places of business searched and trashed, and they would be charged with threatening the President.

I’d ask the fireworks maker what he is going to do for a living after Progressives take away his right to sell fireworks, because all pyrotecnics will be placed under government control.
Aren’t these shotgun shells?
By then if they could, even made Twinkies would be illegal.
What! Fireworks are the running dogs of carbon footprints Yankee Imperialists!
It is a lie that the glorious People’s Republic of China invented these deadly planet smothering devices which were the creation of reactionary forces! You will all be sent for re-education in a labor camp making fireworks for spreading these lies!
Watched local fireworks show then set off a few myself including the “Bin Laden Noggin.”
Generated some more CO2 in the firebowl. It was a good night.
Who among us doesn’t long for the good ol’ days when the deficit was only $436 billion?
While Bush deserves criticism for his enormous deficits, I can’t accept that the fireworks merchant mentioned by “Mark” was unaware of Obama’s far-more-gutwrenching deficits. The seller was another example of an Obamanite who couldn’t handle the truth.
I had one of these and it dripped oil everywhere. BTW, the only way to get it to explode is to insult it until it blows up. Ok, technically it threatens to blow up…
Obama fireworks: Big banner promising to have a huge bang… only to be a 100% DUD!!!
Funny, I parked next to a guy with a “9-11 is Bush’s Reichstag Fire” sticker yesterday and politely asked him if Bush is a dictator yet.
Well according to a few noobs at work the Obombies debt woudnt be so big if Bush hadnt been President. Logic from these noobs is not to be expected.
