Leonardo DiCaprio says he drives a hybrid car, and that makes for some good, clean transportation when he’s heading to the airport to get on his private jet — in this case to travel to South Africa, where he contributed to an air traffic jam induced by jet-set eco-hypocrites, causing many others miss the game:

Hundreds of fans bound for Durban for the Germany-Spain World Cup semi final missed the game because their flights were unable to land, after air traffic authorities closed the city’s airport because of congestion on the runway caused by private aircraft.

The situation was described as “absolute chaos” by the pilot of one British Airways flight which took off from Cape Town in mid-afternoon but was diverted to Johannesburg.

Wire services reported that among the VIPs heading for the semi-final by jet were Spain’s King Juan Carlos, South African President Jacob Zuma, actor Leonardo DiCaprio and socialite Paris Hilton.

Didn’t anybody tell Leo he could have stayed home and watched the game on his solar-powered TV? DiCaprio trained well under the tutelage of his bloated hypocritical eco-Jedi master and second-chakra releaser, Al Gore.

All I ask of any “the sky is falling” global warming alarmist like DiCaprio is that he at least behaves as if he actually believes the doom-and-gloom words that are coming out of his mouth. If saving the planet can be put on the back burner (pardon the expression) because firing up a private jet to go to a Spain/Germany match halfway around the world was just that important, Leo doesn’t really believe we’re in “The 11th Hour”:
