Punish the victim, reward the illegal alien criminal

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 9, 2010 03:58 PM

Life in this insane, open-borders no-longer-a-nation, from here in my state of Colorado:

Legal analyst Dan Recht said he believes the Jefferson County District Attorney is “seriously overcharging” a Wheat Ridge homeowner, accused of attempted first degree murder for shooting at two thieves.

82-year-old Robert Wallace said he fired two shots at two men when they tried to run him over while stealing his flatbed trailer.

Wallace now faces twelve felony counts, including four counts of attempted first degree murder, for what he described as an act of defending his property and his life. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

One of the thieves, Damacio Torres later admitted to the theft. He and his partner in crime, Alvara Cardano both have prior arrest records and are believed to be in the country illegally.

But they are not facing any charges.

Crazy? We passed crazy a long time ago. I pray for Mr. Wallace and at 82 … yeah, I guess he should have just let them steal it huh? WTF? but I fear there is little to do but weep for these once proud Independent but United States of America.

At 82 it is not like he can stand face to face with them. Not even pressing charges on two admitted thieves … much less questioning their very right to be here? November is going to be a turning point one way or the other … which way the cold winds will blow remains to be seen.

Torres dropped off Cardano with a gunshot wound to the face.

That would seem to indicate he did fire in self defense as the truck approached.

Sources say Torres and Cardona are believed to be in the country illegally and both have an arrest record. Cardona’s record includes public fighting and numerous traffic offenses like driving without a license or insurance. Torres’s record includes agricultural trespassing as well as a 2005 arrest for aggravated motor vehicle theft for which he was given a plea bargain to a lesser crime. Sources say Torres is also under investigation for being part of a major auto theft ring.

Fortunately, the DA is providing free cell phones – as opposed to prosecuting crime for example.

“Hello police – two illeagal aliens just tried to kill me with my own truck!”

Charging Mr. Wallace with “attempted first degree murder” implies that the D.A. believes the shooting was premeditated. So he must have evidence that a psychic told Mr. Wallace when his trailer was going to be stolen and that he then made plans to shoot the guy in advance. This is nuts! The D.A. should be charged with attempted first degree murder of the justice system.

    Same here in KY.

This may also explain why we have very VERY few home invasions around here. When you break into a house in these parts, there is a much greater than 50% chance that the residents are armed, and know how to USE their arms.

As I have said, everyone should own and be proficient with three weapons: A M1 Garand, a 12 gauge shotgun, and a Colt 1911 style .45ACP pistol.

The Garand for range, the shotgun for proximity, and the 1911 for making sure that whatever is coming for you goes down and STAYS there. Permanently.
