Bill Clinton Officiates Weiner Wedding

Question: How many snickers, snorts, winks and nudges were there in the church when “pastor” Clinton got to the part about “forsaking all others”?
Bill Clinton is not giving away his daughter Chelsea’s hand in marriage for another three weeks. But he is going to get a little practice at the altar on Saturday, when he officiates at the wedding of Representative Anthony D. Weiner and Huma Abedin, a longtime aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The ceremony will be at Oheka Castle in Huntington, N.Y., in the early evening.
Matt McKenna, a Clinton spokesman, told The Associated Press that Mr. Clinton would conduct the ceremony and was authorized to do so, but did not elaborate. Aides to Mr. Weiner, who represents Queens and Brooklyn, declined to comment.

Weird stuff. I looked at the wiki entry for each and Abedin looks like a Saudi political appointee. She has virtually no record other than being raised in Saudi Arabia and arriving here to attend school in Washington DC. Weiner is about as undistinguished as one can get. Now these two are joined by Bill Clinton? Talk about a marriage made in Hell.

Requirements for the legal authority to officiate weddings varies by state. Some states require registration with the govt to officiate, others do not. Texas requires only a license to the ministry (issued by a local congregation, no govt involved). I don’t know about NY.
Speaking as a licensed (though not in active ministry) Baptist minister, I find this offensive. Who would license or ordain Bubba? It’s probably one of those fly-by-night fake religions like the ordination mill Universal Life Church. They will “ordain” anyone.

Muslim women are not allowed to “marry” non-muslim men.
A muslim man may “marry” a female of any religion – the children of a union between a muslim man and any female belong to the man, and are considered muslim from birth by the ummah, irrespective of whether anyone else considers them muslim, or whether they themselves consider themselves muslim.
But, a muslim woman may not “marry” a non-muslim man.
Period.

If a non-muslim man converts to islam, then a muslim woman may “marry” him.

We seem to see more people using the Koran to justify human injustice and violence today than any other holy book/religion (the WBC people, as we see from counter-protests, are a small group of whackadoodles and are well and truly denounced by other Christians for daring to call themselves that and do what they do).
I also have to wonder: what qualifies Clinton to officiate at a wedding? He is a disbarred lawyer, former President, not (that I am aware of) an ordained cleric of any religion, a judge, or a ship’s captain.
