Culture of Corruption: New York Democrat First Lady edition

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 12, 2010 10:58 AM

Democrat women are sick and tired of the corruptocrat men in their party hogging all the spotlight.

From the NYPost today (h/t JWF):

Gov wife’s biz gets $297M no-bid deal

Gov. Paterson’s administration awarded a $297 million federal contract without competitive bidding or public notice to GHI, the health-care provider whose parent company employs his wife, The Post has learned.

Legislative investigators are now looking into the huge, 3½-year contract that subsidizes insurance for uninsured individuals with pre-existing health problems — part of President Obama’s health-care reform act, state officials concede.

It could yield up to $30 million in “administrative costs” for Emblem Health, GHI’s (Group Health Inc.’s) parent company.

“Selecting a company for which the governor’s wife works without bidding or public notice raises serious disturbing questions,” one of the Legislature’s top Democrats told The Post.

“This is something that is troubling and something we plan to look at,” the official continued.

Also disturbing, the official said, is that New York chose to have GHI administer the program when it could have joined at least 21 other states in having the federal government assume the responsibility.

First Lady Michelle Paterson is director of integrative wellness for the outfit.

Yes, it is funny how Democrat Michelles have a knack for milking their hubbies’ political ties to get footholds in the health care industry and other cushy corporate jobs.

The problem is much bigger than corruption.

The real problem is the destruction of America’s freedoms and liberties.

Read about the German Enabling Act of 1933. America’s Enabling Act is being assembled piecemeal, health care, financial reform, cap and tax, and AMNESTY to keep it all going.

Tyranny and oppression by smothering bureaucracy. Just what Kagan wrote about in her paper “Presidential Administration”.

    Read “The Road to Serfdom!”

This has been done before…repeatedly! The ideas put forth by Marxist/socialists have their roots in the history of Europe, and have never worked.

The socialization of private enterprise starts with these huge contracts paid for by public dollars. These businesses, controlled by extensive legislation, are designed to fail in order to enable government takeoversocialization!

This is the transition and change we were promised. The ignorant in our society are more than willing to give up liberty for security, and this is how it is accomplished. Slowly but surely, the notion of entitlement has overcome the free-thinking citizen, supplanting common sense.

Read this book to understand what’s next, and how we can prevent it. God help us!

Yes. This was said more succinctly. “There are tax payers and there are tax eaters.”

And though while jobs like police and fire aren’t technically “tax eaters,” they, like all gov’t jobs, aren’t tax payers either.

I disagree with you. Firefighters and Police perform essential duties of the goverment. Precisely to protect the citizens. Without them, the merchant or manufacturer could not make much of a profit or produce as someone would always come along and rob them. From that perspective, these folks assist the the producers and are tax payers. Contrast these jobs with the ACLU lawyer who assists in defending Islamic terrorists. Or consider government officials who prevent the prosecution of border raiders. If done right, every job could be done to assist creating wealth and greater productivity. However, the large government has become too parasitic and is suffocating the host.

I somehow knew the ’08 election was a golden egg for Michelle. She already had most of the background for “Culture of Corruption” from her articles and research, and it has become the definitive work on the reality of the hope-n-change fraud. As I recall, Rush was doing ok in ’92, but when Billy Jeff was elected he went off the charts.

Like most folks here, this is my daily stop for a reality check. I have followed Michelle regularly for six years now, and do not recall her having to make a correction, qualification or appology for anything she has written. EVER. That is remarkable for any journalist, leave alone one as prolific as she is, and on the cutting edge of the political scene.

Hats of to our hostess! May God bless her with continued perception, prosperity and productivity!

Good question. Just what the devil does a director of “Integrative Wellness” do?

Do you think that Mrs. Paterson’s job could be cut so a handful of other people that actually work could have jobs? No! Let’s cut the jobs for the little guy and give the governor’s misses a job. One worthy of her status!

Or is it parasite vs. host? No, real parasites are usually smart enough not to kill the host. Politicians are something worse.

We have to keep them fighting and eating each other so they will leave us alone.
