It’s the hot video clip of the afternoon.
I’ll let you provide all the commentary, with only one observation: Kirsten sank to her lowest and most ignorant low with her “scary black man” snark at Megyn — who showed amazing restraint in the face of being accused of racial demagoguery by a fellow Fox colleague who has no grasp of the basic facts and import of the DOJ’s corruption in the case and who demonstrated complete cluelessness about the poisonous, violence-promoting history of the NBPP.

Kelly showed her lawyer chops, scoring big points with her cross-examination of Powers. She got Powers to admit (1) she hadn’t read J.Christian Adams testimony before the US Commission on Civil Rights, and (2) despite not having read what the man actually said, she dismissed his accusations out of hand because she believed he was a conservative agent provocateur.
My favorite bit: “Don’t make me cut off your mike.”
Great TV, too. Two attractive blond women in red dresses, claws out and going at it. I was laughing myself silly by the end!

If Bartle Bull’s statement that he was told he was a “cracker” who was “about to find out what it’s like to be ruled by the black man” wasn’t enough to upset KP, I don’t know what would be.
Megyn Kelly is quite impressive. Ms Powers is very disappointing.

Might “why is this important” not also be related to the testimony, (before the DOJ dismissed the case), that one of the idiots at the polling place was also previously at some kind of back panther rally, or whatever, on video yelling, “kill the cracker babies”, among other incredible crap?

Kirsten has such a warped view of the world. The tape gave me a headache. Many times I have found her exasperating. She uses a circular argument combined with a lack of life experience to deliver liberal democapic talking points. Apparently she so smart that she doesn’t have to even read testimony, a trait she shares with all those who don’t read bills. I’d like to transport her back to the ’60s when MLK was trying to obtain true civil rights while the Black Panthers and Malcom X wanted a race war. No wonder she’s ok with elderly voters having to pass by thugs with clubs to vote, since the Bush administration failed to please her with its rulings.

I saw Colmes make essentially the same argument – not enough evidence, no one was intimidated from voting, blahdy-blah. It’s as if blacks can commit no crime in their eyes.
Powers has to defend the indefensible in this exchange. She looked like a moron doing it because it is moronic. You can not defend what these thugs did on video unless you are a black racist. I have seen Powers reluctantly agree that her Dem talking points are without merit. Why did she not want to do that here? Because her first conclusion is that the white guy is lying? How very racist of her.
Did I miss a small print disclosure about Doug Powers not being related to Kerstin Powers? It’s that Detroit “cloud of suspicion” thing.

I don’t know about that – I saw Powers on this past weekend’s Fox News Watch, and she and Ellis Henigen had a pretty good time making light of the whole Black Panther-DOJ issue.
Kirsten Powers is a perfect example of this:

The scary black man concept is now accmpanied by the scary Arab man concept, the scary Hispanic or Latino man concept, and the scary Muslim man concept. Such nonsense is perpetrated by leftist-racist, arrogant liberal nuts and projected upon normal, fair minded, level-headed citizens, especially conservative citizens.
It is often perpetrated by a self centered, arrogant, condescending, self absorbed, narcissistic leftist-liberal-snobbish-elitist-coward who won’t stand up to malevolent, violent, hate filled, racist, misogynist, radical thugs like Muslims militant jihadis, black thugs like the NBPP, la Raza, and other, similar groups and individuals.
Powers even resorted to manufacturing some accusation about Bush’s administration not prosecuting certain cases, attempting to change the subject and argue something not in evidence. Powers attempted several Straw Men, but Megan shot her down on at least one occasion for her dishonest attempt.
I have observed Kirsten Powers’ ignorant rants and dismissiveness for some time now. I wondered if anyone would call her on it, or give her a decent slap-down.
I watched much of the conversation on FOX News today including Megan Kelly and Kirsten Powers. I was surprised, almost shocked, at Megan’s behavior.
Could this actually be someone standingi up to the snobbish, dismissive, condescending Kirsten Powers? Could this women, Megan Kelly, actually be calling Powers on her ignorance and belligerance?

Remember when Michelle was on OReilly every week debating Powers? Always seemed like Michelle had her for lunch, but in a less combative way than Kelly. Half the time Powers ended up having to sgree with Michelle, based pourely on facts and reason. Here Powers was cornered and came back scratching and swinging rather than admit she was off target. Rather painful to watch, no?
Sure wouldn’t want Kelly prosecuting me in court. She goes for the throat and doesn’t let up. I’ll bet a $1 you won’t see Progressive Powers on Kelly’s show again.

I believe they were, or at least it was an open-and-shut case (anyone who saw that tape and heard/read testimony would have to agree). The DOJ shut it down anyway.
I can’t believe people like KP who are so dense as not to care if the DOJ did, in fact, issue a mandate that these cases were not to be pursued against blacks on behalf of whites. That would be the greatest example of institutional racism since the Jim Crow laws.

I feel bad for KP. She’s out of her depth, but Megyn was right for calling her out for being unprepared.

I just watched the clip for a third time. Is KP claiming that white people stood outside polling places intimidating blacks when Bush was president, and that Bush told the DOJ not to prosecute them? I don’t remember hearing anything like that during the Bush years. Megan acknowledges that FOX complained when that happened also. So megan is agreeing with KP that Bush allowed whites to intimidate blacks at the polls?

Pity. I actually used to think that while Powers leaned toward the more liberal point of view, she was at least the one Democrat personality and writer who was at least intellectually honest. She seemed to have a mind of her own and I cannot recall a situation where she acted as a shill for the left. Until now.
Funny thing, it takes a great deal of time to build up one’s credibility, but a mere moment to lose it all. This was that moment for Powers. A stunning transformation from having a mind of her own to left wing shill. For me anyway, I will no longer take account of anything she has to say in any media.

I believe those days are over for her. As I said, she normally does not sound as unreasonable as some libs except anything that involves race – this, the Arizona law, etc. I truly do think she suffers from chronic Liberal White Guilt Syndrome. There’s a part of her that doesn’t have the heart to hold blacks, in particular, responsible for anything they do. But it is time for them to be held responsible. I don’t care what your skin color is, you do not get to show up at a polling place in a uniform, holding a weapon, saying threatening things to poll-watchers and voters.
These two women should not have been paired for this segment. (Since it’s Megyn’s show, Kirsten was the wrong guest.) It’s obvious (to me) that there’s something other than this issue that is causing so much friction.
I’ve never seen Kirsten so unprepared, that nasty and foolishly bull headed and never have seen Megyn this unprofessional. And I love Megyn.

MtsEdge, I imagine most people disagreed with me on this. Kirsten bores me (for all the same reasons you’ve given) and she seemed worse here. I like Megyn most when she is debating an equal (if possible
). Her brilliance shines and I learn a little in the mean time.
