Apologist-in-chief aims for another Nobel Peace Prize

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 22, 2010 01:35 PM

Raise your hands: Who else is sick of the Shirley Sherrod circus?

We’ve entered the 20th minute of Sherrod’s 15 minutes of fame with this afternoon’s news of President Obama’s phone call to express “regret” for his administration’s hasty sacking of the former USDA official.

She pronounced herself “very pleased.”

Profuse apologies to the world reaped Obama his first Nobel Peace Prize.

Perhaps his telephone penitence today will his earn him a second…

Notice that while the decision to fire came from the white house, Obama makes sure not to apologize personally, but to emphasize that the Whitey that works for Obama is apologizing for oppressing her the way white people always do.

I always thought when the people railing against ‘the man’ became ‘the man’, they would reconsider what they thought of ‘the man’.

Obama, on the other hand has become ‘the man’ but pawns off responsibility for being ‘the man’ to somebody else.

I guess it won’t ever dawn on them that they are the enemy they have been looking for and fighting. George Bush wouldn’t have fired someone like this.

Shirley Miller was born in 1948 in Baker County, Georgia, to Grace and Hosie Miller.[6][7] In 1965, when she was 17 years old, her father, a deacon at the local Baptist Church, was speculated to have been shot to death by a white farmer, reportedly over a dispute about a few cows.[7] No charges were returned against the shooter by an all-white grand jury.[7] This was a turning point in her life and led her to feel that she should stay in the South to bring about change.[7] That same year she was among the first black students to enroll in the previously all-white high school in Baker County.[6]

so, is there any way this can be checked I wonder, or are we just supposed to believe that this woman’s father was murdered by a white man and let go by his white brethren?

fyi, i grabbed this from an commenter at another site,… seems apropos to this thread as well…

President John F. Kennedy made the following opening remarks at a White House dinner honoring a gathering of Nobel Prize winners,
I have been impressed by the intellect of Thomas Jefferson:

    April 29, 1962

    Ladies and gentlemen:

I want to tell you how welcome you are to the White House. I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House, with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone.

Someone once said that Thomas Jefferson was a gentleman of 32 who could calculate an eclipse, survey an estate, tie an artery, plan an edifice, try a cause, break a horse, and dance the minuet. Whatever he may have lacked if he could have had his former colleague Mr. Franklin here we all would have been impressed.

Jefferson in some cases could be called a prophet. So here are some quotes from Mr. Jefferson that seem very appropriate to repeat
    today:

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.
    Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
    Thomas Jefferson

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.
    Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
    Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
    Thomas Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
    Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
    Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
    Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
    Thomas Jefferson

In light of the present financial crisis, it’s interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

‘I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks,
and corporations that will grow up around the banks, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

When I saw how much her Wikipedia page had been upgraded overnight, I realized they had made a huge mistake and actually provided too much info about her, allowing people to start digging into her background. Seems like there is a lot worth digging into. What were her qualifications at USDA and how did a new job “magically” appear for her to be offered.

Who is doing this mass violation of civil rights. Are these all local agents denying farm loans etc to blacks in the KKK part of the south? Is it still happening. I have no problem cracking down on both the KKK and the NAACP. Both organization are racist and extremely divisive and should be dismantled.

As for the broad brush of the NAACP, the name itself is racist. If you join it, even with the best of intentions, you are guilty by association. That organization needs to go. They should reform under a different mission than advancement of a particular race.

The white farmer that allegedly killed her father was not indicted. The county was certainly racist at the time and that may have been the reason. It also may not have been. None of those things matter to a racist. Sherrod will tell everyone what she wants them to hear to further her racist cause. My instinct tells me she is being fairly truthful but still not proven. Kinda like her current situation.

Hands raised, Michelle. I was sick of this circus days ago.

So far that peace on earth, hopychangy deal ain’t workin’so well, no matter how many fist-bumps and bows. I think the “yes-we-can” motto was for being the most bumbling bunch of buffoons in history.

One can only hope that the next time he bows to any nation, someone will put a sticky note on his royal buttocks declaring “kick me now”

Sherrod is blatant racist, but that’s ok, she’s black and must have suffered years of unnerving hardships at the hands of every white she ever ran into.
That’s sarcasm excluding the fact she is a racist.

There will never be an end to racism in America, too many blacks make a living off it.

I’m taking back what I said on the aforementioned day. After listening to 20 minutes of the 40+ min. video, I can’t go so far as to call her a racist. I’m back to neutral and will wait until I have time to listen to the whole tape as well as other info coming out before I label her a racist. I wanted to correct myself – I jumped to a conclusion. (Much like many who I disparage ..)

How stupid is this Sherrod woman? So far she’s turned on the only people that supported her. Another one returned to the liberal/democrat plantation.
