Dirtbag of the Week: Man Robs Kids’ Lemonade Stand
**Written by Doug Powers
There’s a special place in hell for somebody who would rob some kids’ lemonade stand, isn’t there?
From the Detroit Free Press:
Calls offering donations have come in from as far away as Colorado and Cincinnati for a group of girls whose Pontiac lemonade stand was robbed Sunday afternoon.
The outpouring has been overwhelming — and a great lesson after a man ran off with the girls’ Mickey Mouse jewelry box and $40 in proceeds, mom Danielle Behan said Wednesday.
Behan’s 9-year-old daughter, Serena Inglsbee, Serena’s 8-year-old twin stepsisters, Savannah and Corrine Aldrich, and Aleyce Guerra, 6, the granddaughter of Behan’s fiancé, were robbed about 3:30 p.m. as they sold lemonade.
Like it’s not hard enough to do business in Michigan.
Now that the time and place of the grand re-opening of the lemonade stand has been announced, the kids’ first customers might be from the IRS.
These kids had made $40 selling lemonade? I’d recommend appointing them to the president’s economic advisory board, but they’re already way too overqualified. The guy who robbed them, however, would be perfect for the job.

I did NOT rob them. I work for the obuma administration. They REFUSED to pay the new tax for healthcare(yes it’s a tax) so I “transferred the wealth” from their business to the taxpayers welfare account.

And this is the country in which (we have long been told) down-and-out people are helpless and need the government to step in because their fellow citizens won’t do a thing for them. I wonder how many of those donors were heartless, greedy, racist, etc., Republicans?
The little girl that owned the Mickey Mouse jewelry box is the one that was robbed. That was hers and irreplaceable to her. She’s just a little girl.
There is no way to prove it, but you just know the robber is a Democrat supporter. Specifically, an Obama supporter.
Sorry to be way O/T. Doug, can you find out if the article on MM Buzzworthy by Doug Ross is true about lindsey and joe biden on the kagen vote? Is this satire? Thanks.

Probably all of them.

True dat. The Left prefers to “redistribute the wealth” of anyone but themselves – witness Michael Moore.
We already know Eric Holder won’t prosecute them.
Detroit eh? Maybe with the ‘press’ this news gets Johntae, Bario and the other thief will be prosecuted. I read were nearby(?) Wayne Co. had considered NOT prosecuting non-violent crimes (not enough money).
Would be nice to get a follow-up on this down the road.
SEIU robbed them because they refused to hire SEIU members and they still had to pay.
Too bad the girls didn’t have a license to carry.
Jeez, gold coin tax and now this, the Dems have no shame! And yes I blame them, because of their failed policies!
If only it were a mango stand it could receive subsidies!

At that age, it doesn’t matter if something cost 50 cents at a rummage sale – if you love it, you love it.
That girl will never have another Mickey Mouse box “just like” that one (unless they somehow recover the one that was stolen).
Wow, this takes “wealth redistribution” to a whole new level.
Sorry to go off-topic here but I just HAVE to say this…
The presidential ticket for 2012…
Chris Christie/Marco Rubio
Christie…Great fiscal responsibility, budget cutter, promise keeper, conservative miracle worker, Governor of NJ
Rubio…Gorgeous conservative hunk, running for Senator from Florida
And Sarah Palin for Republican Chairperson. She is a great fundraiser and has the ability to rally the folks!
Yes.We.Can!
All of them, the dems that were touched by this story would have demanded Congress pass a special appropriation bill to replace the money and follow it up with a study on the crime statistics perpetrated on lemonade stands. Total cost to the taxpayers? $10,300,040.00 less the income and self employment taxes imposed on the $40.
The mom has one last name, the daughter has another last name, the step-daughters/sisters have even another last name and the Mom’s fiance has a granddaughter.
I think they have bigger problems than the stolen $40.
Sometimes rent money gotta get paid one way or t’other.
Agree.
One of the first things that I noticed.

And the scary thing is, that could really happen under this Congress, even though it sounds like a joke to us.
What a bunch of maroons.
Interesting that one of the thieves was named Washington and this whole story sounds like a perfect metaphor for our times. So, why should these thieves receive more attention than the thieves in Washington DC. After all, the crooke in DC stole a lot more from all our children.
Thanks frostrt for the reminder. I finally looked up the definition!

problems!??? Just imagine all the gov’t checks that “family” gets every month!
ENTITLEMENT CULTURE IS KILLING US!
Nice. I like it. Now if we can just send the current residents of Congress to Guantanimo…
On a semi-related note, Mrs. Acclaim and I are taking the Concealed Handgun License course on July 31.
Now to get in a little range time ahead of that.
I predict the guilty party will be a Detroit city councilman. After all, there’s nobody left in their town to loot, so they have to head for the ‘burbs.
These kids were hoarding cash which, if you have been watching “Helicopter Ben” Bernanke’s Congressional testimony the past two days, is one of the big reasons why the economy isn’t creating jobs.
Yo Yo Yo peeps, the thief needed that money more than those little girls! Where is your HUMANITY, your COMPASSION, your EMPATHY for the downtrodden! And don’t you dare tell me that this was another black on black crime, cause that’s just RACIST!
I was thinking more of another place…hell! But Guantanimo will do for a start.
Now, I really love Chris Christie and he would be a dynamite leader for our country. I do have a problem with his obesity. I don’t mean that as a nasty or judgemental comment. I know the health problems associated with overweight and we need a healthy POTUS!! The rigors of that office is only for the FIT. Yeah, yeah, I know Clinton was a bit chubby…but Christie is seriously overweight and I worry about him. He is too good a man to be lost because of that! I hope he will be able to overcome it. I have struggled with weight problems all my life so I am very sympathetic towards his problem
I have a different last name from my mother, and had a stepbrother with a different last name (until he was adopted by my father). What of it?
Why was this girl working a lemonade stand? Did her unemployment run out?
You post on this blog. That truly indicates insanity

As the only child of two once-previously-married parents (only child they had together, that is), with two half brothers and three half sisters, and whose father adopted my mother’s two children when he married her, I have to agree with your “what of it” statement.
A crime was committed against a kid who just wanted to sell lemonade. That’s the point.
Sorry, chap. Failed attempt at humor.
Fair point.
“I have a different last name from my mother, and had a stepbrother with a different last name (until he was adopted by my father).”
Is that an algebra word problem?
Great point, chap. I stand with you on this one.
Does anyone know where Øbama was when this theft occurred?
“I’mmmm my ooowwwn grand-pa”!
Lauren Cooper (aka Catherine Tate): “Are you a yokel?
Is your cousin your mum?
Is your dad your brother?
Are you your own father?”
Detroit is starting to look like a war zone…perhaps the man was desperate. Since 90% of the fine citizens of Detroit voted for Obama, perhaps they should ask him for money instead of terrorizing little girls.
I never made anything close to $40 selling lemonade. Of course, a roadside stand in the middle of south east Wyoming, with the nearest town 15 miles away and the nearest neighbor 2 miles away, was probably not a very strategic location.

Yea, the more the merrier with concealed carry permits. Good luck to both of you.
“I never made anything close to $40 selling lemonade.”
Just imagine how that shaped your future too. Had you been successful you might have spent your life wearing one of those fancy colored tall hats selling lemonade at the mall.
my brother was an only child…
Bingo!
vinny, you get today’s Blue Ribbon!
Doug, I think you should put Vinny’s comment in the post.
FIFY
I think it’s pretty obvious that rural children are disadvantaged in that regard. we should form a commission to investigate and suggest remedies to make up for the huge capitalistic advantage those inner city kids have.
I will gladly offer to chair the commission. Now if I can just get a federal grant…
Well it’s embarrassing when girl scouts make more money than Government Motors, so I’m guessing the “robber” was simply a member of the Obama administration providing “fairness” for all the businesses in Michigan that didn’t make $40 last week. Which I’m guessing could be a majority of them.
The robber was just expressing the attitude of the current administration. Taking from those who produce to give to those who only consume is a time honored leftist principle. They have no respect for such old fashioned values like “thou shalt not covet” or “thou shalt not steal” — unless, of course, someone does it to them.
What’s next confiscation of your savings accounts and or checking accounts because you have too much discretionary cash??
What savings account? What checking account? We are putting all our money in the mattress, and they had better stay out of our bedroom. I have my cast iron frying pan on the bedside table, and I know how to use it.
Thanks. We’re really looking forward to it.
Oh, pardon me. Family chaos, especially MULTIPLE broken parental realtionships is sooo good for children. That’s what.
THOSE children are the innocent victims of their parents’ poor choices, choices that will likely have more lasting effects than the loss of $40. THAT was THE point, frostedheart.
