Sheriff Arpaio Opens ‘Section 1070′ to House Illegals Arrested Under New Law

By Doug Powers  •  July 22, 2010 02:45 PM

The Sheriff who chaps more lefty keisters than a rump rash outbreak at Burning Man is still going strong.

This year marks the 17th anniversary of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s “Tent City,” and the Sheriff has opened a new area where illegals arrested under Arizona’s new SB1070 law will be housed. The area is appropriately called “Section 1070″:

“Citizens here sincerely hope that SB 1070 will result in large numbers of illegal aliens being captured and arrested by local law enforcement officers,” Arpaio said in a press release. “I’m not so certain that will actually happen. But on the assumption it does, then as the sheriff of this county, I am ready. Tent City is ready. There will never be the excuse that this jail hasn’t enough room for violators of SB1070.”

Additionally, Arpaio said that Obama’s plan to send National Guard troops to the border is a joke.

As Michelle passed along on Twitter, Phoenix reporter Corey Rangel is tweeting live from a courtroom hearing on SB1070.

All I keep thinking is “if all the taxpayer money being spent on this lawsuit were instead put toward securing the border, maybe SB1070 wouldn’t have been necessary.”

I dearly love Sheriff Joe! I have to say those people in AZ, the Gov. Brewer and the Sheriff are wonderful! Thank you AZ, you are doing what this bho and team will not do to protect your state from the illegal aliens and gangs. I just hope, a tiny hope, my TX will follow you. TX along with the other border states have a huge problem.

If you go to Google maps and zoom in on Altar, there is a road that leads due north about 50 miles to the Arizona border, to a small town called Sasabe. Zoom in all thw way and you can actually see the network of trails and roads ouside of town that lead across the border from Mexico into Arizona. (It’s interesting that the Google steet view abruptly ends about 100 yards from the border control station on the Arizona side.)

I can pretty much gaurantee you that not one U.S. National Guard troop will set foot in in Sasabe, Arizona.

Article on Rangel Posted on Drudge

A House investigative committee on Thursday charged New York Rep. Charles Rangel with multiple ethics violations, a blow to the former Ways and Means chairman and an election-year headache for Democrats.

The committee did not immediately specify the charges against the Democrat, who has served in the House for some 40 years and is fourth in House seniority. The announcement by a four-member panel of the House ethics committee sends the case to a House trial, where a separate eight-member panel of Republicans and Democrats will decide whether the violations can be proved by clear and convincing evidence.

In 1933 the California state legislature failed, just barely, to pass a bill that would keep out the poor and those likely to need welfare. With CA unemployment rising to around 30%, in February, 1936, and for the next few years, Los Angeles Police Chief James Davis sent 125 officers to “defend” the state border entry sites with orders to turn back “undesirables” from California and especially Los Angeles. This operation was eventually stopped through the courts by ACLU action.

Nowadays, Mayor Tony would have the LAPD sent to escort and protect newly arrived illegals democrats as they make their way to Los Angeles.

CA won’t have to worry about who their governor is if they stay in a bankrupt condition. Illegal immigrants being exposed to America and it’s living standards is not going to change what they hope to acheive, namely a hell hole just like they left. It’s not comfortable to have to change. Employers face the same problem. How can a company with worldwide interests employ some of the students coming out of their schools? I’m glad to be out of there. It’s up to the citizens to fix it now.

AZ is trying to do something about it. So, of course, the Feds have to put a stop to it. Thank goodness for Gov. Brewer and Sheriff Arpaio. Just tied up loose ends and booked my trip to AZ in the Fall last night. Maybe Sheriff Joe will save a piece of cake for me.

Hence the Steinback novel “The Grapes of Wrath”. The people they were keeping out were not from Mexico. They were from Oklahoma because of the dust bowl. The derogatory name for them was “Okies” and they were treated very badly. Many were not only beaten but killed.

Yup, really hard and desperate times produced such brutality against fellow americans. IIRC many of the “okies” that got into CA were steered to the central valley, where they ended up as migrant farm workers until the war opened up better job opportunities for those not serving in the military. Am I remembering that from “The Grapes of Wrath” too?
