My friend Lisa De Pasquale writes a fun feature for Human Events called “De Pasquale’s Dozen.” It’s an offbeat, up-close-and-personal interview series she conducts with conservative writers, public officials, and other neat people on the right side of the political aisle. You can find her archive here. This week, she got me to reveal my favorite movie quote, cherished pop culture item, and guilty, non-political TV pleasure.
Check out my answers here and feel free to share yours!

Hey Michelle,
Here is MY favorite movie quote:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6syRRHTTic
Quite possibly my favorite movie quote ever… can’t believe it got snubbed by the Academy.
Ahem… still waiting. I even wrote a haiku threatening to kill myself. Cruel and heartless.
Spongebob? Eeeek.
I enjoyed the Wiggles until the yellow shirt guy got sick and was replaced.
We have Wiggley Polka on VCR at home. And the one with Steve and Terry Irwin.
My wife likes the one with Perry the Platypus.
A true classic!
Chuck Norris! Chuck Norris!!!
You know Chuck would have been 70 this year but Time is afraid of Him!!!
Michelle, I have the same reaction to those two, but for me its their acting (so-called)… my gag reflex doesn’t eve get at far as their political views.
Do you know the difference between a zombie and a democrat?
The zombie actually KNOWS it needs brains and is trying to get some.
I hope that’s a 70s “Land Of The Lost” lunchbox!
Best short – 4 sec – movie quote that I wish conservatives in office or seeking office would learn to say to the left:
“and you’ll like it” – YouTube
Michelle, I loved the #12 answer. You are one great lady, IMHO.
L
*Michelle, you are too normal, but that’s why we love ya so!
*”A Clockwork Orange”, my favorite movie, full of memorable quotes, and visuals any teenage boy can appreciate.

I totally agree!
Despite how they are portrayed by the leftist media, many of today’s high school and college age youth are very open to conservative ideas philosophy – once they are exposed to them w/o the filter of some left-wing instructor or college prof.
BTW – when I was growing up, if you didn’t watch Land of the Lost on Saturday your were nobody at school ’til at least Wednesday!
This is from memory, and could be quite wrong, but…
Capt. Call in Lonesome Dove, after nearly beating an Army scout to death:
“I can’t stand rude behavior in a man; it’s a thing I won’t tolerate”.
Justified is a very cool TV series.
Favorite movie quote: anything from Blazing Saddles.
Favorite Movie: Hunt for Red October (despite Alec Baldwin)
current “guilty pleasure” non-news television show: Deadliest Catch, closely followed by Man vs. Food
First rock concert: Rolling Stones at Rich Stadium, Buffalo. North American tour 1974
Yes, an actor’s political beliefs will stop me from watching them, especially anything made since 1996. Do you hear me Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins?
What’s the one thing you would do as President “just because you could? Tell Congress to grow a pair and stop acating like ninnies.
Michelle – I’m almost certain that’s a riff from Monty Python and the Holy Grail:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o76WQzVJ434
As for my favorite movie quote, of late it’s been “K” from Men in Black: “A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.”
I never thought I would ever actually say/write this:
I love Barbie!
Re: Favorite movie quote
Greg Gutfeld seriously owes you an apology, Michelle. Tell him you’ll sic your attack griffin on him.
My level of movie line retainment amounts to lines such as,
and
I guess
works.
Or the line that one guy says in that other movie? You know, where they go and do that thing they gotta do? Then he says…I forget the line.
Now Gutfeld owes me an apology.
Michelle, I enjoyed reading these little tidbits. You’re a fascinating woman!!
My favorite movie quote is: “she’s a pale-faced, mealy mouth ninny, and I hate her!”
HAR! Reminds my of the nasty thing June said to Ward: “You were a little hard on the Beaver last night Ward.”
The first time I ever saw “The Sound of Music” in its entirety was at a theater in Bern, Switzerland, where it had German subtitles. The German subtitle may have made it more humorous, but I loved the quote at the end of the movie where, after having disabled the Nazi officers’ vehicles, the nuns approached the Reverend Mother, and holding distributor cables in their hands, said “Reverend Mother, we have sinned”. (Ehrwuerdige Mutter, wir haben gesundigt.)
#1 favorite movie quote:
“Go ahead, make my day” while pointing his .44 Magnum at the scumbags face.
Sudden Impact 1983 Clint Eastwood
(that was the year I fell in love with a whole lot of fire power, and I’ve wanted a .44 Mag since)
#2 favorite movie quote:
“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
Gone With The Wind 1939 Clark Gable
(my mother, from the South, was very critical of it)
I don’t know, this looks like a direct slap at Rogue Cheddar:
Smith and Wesson Model 29. Great revolver. I have one with a 6″ barrel, like Harry’s, but mine is nickle plated. S&W has a wide selection from the classic 29, to the stainless-steel 629, to the Mountain Lite model with a scandium aluminum frame.
If I had to buy one now, it would be the stainless 629 with a 4″ barrel.
tre, wish I could go with the S&W but, and that’s a big BUT, I’m really small in stature – under 5′ tall. I’ve had to do a lay over with my arm when firing a .357…you don’t want to know where I landed after firing a 30 ought 6 rifle (as my cousin pronounced it and talked me into one time). Let’s just say both feet were off the ground.
Ha!
“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”
OT
Mrs. Acclaim and I take the concealed handgun class in the morning. Prayers appreciated.
Malkin-anybody 2012!
I can’t believe it either, and refuse to watch any awards shows since then because of that snub.
I test fired my .30-’06 rifle once before deer season. I dropped a 1qt oil bottle on the ground, paced off about 50 yards, and pulled the trigger.
That’s when I learned I had my face too close to the ‘scope. Blood was dripping off my nose.
What’s with you, Mathews and legs?
