‘Hey! Ayatollah! Leave Those Kids Alone!’

Two Iranian brothers living in exile in Canada have a band called Blurred Vision. They recently received permission from Pink Floyd founding member Roger Waters to re-make “Another Brick in the Wall” as a protest against Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the regime in Iran.

The video features footage of the post-election crackdown against student protesters, and also features a woman who bears some resemblance to Neda Agha-Soltan.

I read something about this in the late spring/early summer but this morning is the first time I’ve seen the video, which is available as an iTunes download. Proceeds from each sale go to Amnesty International.

I’ve had issues in the past with Roger Waters continually putting Reagan, Thatcher and Bush on par with real evil in the world, as well as Amnesty’s not-so-subtle accusations that a US that has certainly done it’s share of watering the seeds of freedom around the world with the blood and sweat of heroes is itself a human rights nightmare. However, in this instance, the outrage is well-directed, so credit where credit is due to all involved parties on this one:

Thank you, Doug, for posting this.
Was good, very good. Good for Roger
Waters, too. The more that get off this
pc bandwagon for this culture, the better. No fear is needed. Be brave.

I hope we in this country have the same courage to fight that these Iranians have. For now, they can come to America for the freedom to organize resistance but if we don’t step up our own efforts soon, we too may find ourselves fleeing underground.

We need to take a really close look at how the obscenely profitable international narco trade is taking over our banks and government and corrupting our country at every level. This isn’t about Democrat vs Republican or liberal vs conservative. It’s about money and how our ruling class has sold us all out.

Now that our laws (Constitution) can no longer be counted on to protect us from the devil, we must now fight the devil himself. We are in trouble. Deep trouble.

If there hadn’t been a “tell” on Obama and his attitude toward freedom before, his indifference to the Iranian people during the Green days told us all we needed to know.

Waters is still an idiot, but nobody’s perfect, and he got this one right.

Dittos Amnasty. Dangerous useful idiots…in this case useful to the good.

Is that true? How do you know that? I’d hate to think I just sent $0.99 to anti-Israel activists.

Very powerful, particularly the end where she liberates herself from the hijab.
Amnesty International is a very liberal group, but if the work they’re doing with the money raised from these downloads actually helps free Iran, that’s a good thing, right?

This from a guy who doesn’t have the courage to vote against McCain.

These guys, now that their video/song has gone viral, may very well be targeted for assassination by an Ayatollah issuing a fatwah. I think that takes more courage than voting for JD Hayworth which you can’t muster the courage to do. You only vote for “winners”. If they aren’t ahead in the polls, they lose your vote.

    Laughable.

O/T but important for everyone here to read:

The article below is very troubling and rates a definite “gird your loins” moment (Charlie Cook is seldom wrong).

Conservatives/Tea Partiers/ GOPers, it’s time to follow Obama’s advice on the upcoming election – it’s time to get in the faces of your neighbors, your family, even people you don’t know and tell them how vital it is for a conservative-GOP victory in both Houses of Congress in the 2010 election!

November is just around the corner -

I hope the Iranian Blurred Vision band members never return to an Islamic country. And I hope they do not have any relatives living there either.

And Canada–and nearby Dearbornistan–have a lot of Muzzies who will be happy to remove your heads for insulting Islam. Watch your backs!

They don’t take kindly to insulting Islam. And they get offended quite easily.

Isn’t that sort of how the Marxists came to power in America?

Ah, Phil there are no CONSERVATIVES running for the Senate in AZ. So at this point it does not mean squat which one gets the nomination. Also, not my state so I don’t care.

The Iranians are thugs and killers. They don’t give a rip about someone singing a protest song. The singers are in no danger, because they are no threat. The most they might be to the Iranian government is a good laugh.

That’s a huge move on Water’s part. To date, Waters has been one of the most vocal pro-Islamofascist, anti-West advocates in music today. Tough for me to say, because I love his melodies.

You want to get nuts? I once dated a Lebanese/Muslim beauty who came to the “Big Apple,” during the mid-1990′s, until I quickly learned that her beautiful Lexington Avenue penthouse was paid for by her unannounced stripper/call girl lifestyle. She was from Dearborn, and in hindsight, she was the most duplicitous, anti-American person I have ever befriended in NYC during my younger-adult lifetime.

I mention this because, after 9/11 (which I admit I should never have survived but for the grace of God) she never contacted me once to see if I was still alive.

Rightly or wrongly, I believe there are a lot of people in Dearborn MI who didn’t give a damn after 9/11.
