Who’s the immigration demagogue, President Obama?

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 2, 2010 09:41 AM

I’m looking at the man in the mirror…

If Barack Obama wants public officials to stop demagoguery of the immigration issue, he should set an example and stop doing it himself.

On CBS News, he accused enforcement advocates of taking “anti-immigrant” positions:

“I understand the frustration of people in Arizona,” Mr. Obama said. “But what we can’t do is demagogue the issue, and what we can’t do is allow a patchwork of 50 different states, or cities or localities, where anybody who wants to make a name for themselves suddenly says, ‘I’m going to be anti-immigrant, and I’m going try to see if I can solve the problem ourself.’ This is a national problem.”

Mr. President, meet Miss California, the daughter of legal immigrants who looks beyond SB1070 and gets to the heart of the battle against open borders:

Newly crowned Miss California Arianna Afsar is not in the same competition as Carrie Prejean, but she may turn out to be just as controversial.

The 18-year old from San Diego is staunchly anti-amnesty for undocumented immigrants.

“I think that people who want to be a United States citizen need to come over here legally in order to get the privileges that every American receives,” said the college student, during a webcam interview with NBC.

Afsar’s own father is an immigrant from Bangladesh, who helped bring three relatives to the U.S legally.

“It ended up taking him 10 years, but he did it legally,” said Afsar. “I don’t think that if you are close to the border that you have the right to be given the rights of a United States citizen.”

Afsar believes all immigrants should follow the same legal process as her father.

Obama remains silent about the reconquista radicals and Arizona-bashers who continue to demagogue with impunity:

Just this weekend:

And this:

At the White House, crickets chirp.

I wish the law just said if you come in contact with law enforcement, they will determine your legal status. They should get rid of the ‘reasonable suspicion’ part of the law and just say everyone will be questioned concerning their citizenship if they get a violation from police.

If they really care about fairness and no racial profiling (an effective police tool), then questioning everyone treats everyone the same.

    The next battle:
“In a decision that could lay the groundwork for an Arizona-style immigration policy, Virginia’s attorney general said state law enforcement officers are allowed to check the immigration status of anyone “stopped or arrested.” Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli issued the legal opinion Friday extending that authority to Virginia police in response to an inquiry over whether his state could mirror the policies passed into law in Arizona. “It is my opinion that Virginia law enforcement officers, including conservation officers may, like Arizona police officers, inquire into the immigration status of persons stopped or arrested,” he wrote.

Should there be a need to be stopped by law enforcement I have no problem proving who I am. If need be, I’ll even carry my danged passport.

The pictures MM posted, and those from Lindsay sure make me all warm and fuzzy thinking about those thugs being granted citizenship one of these days. America, what a country.

Something that doesn’t pass the smell test — a couple of weeks ago we were told that scores of illegals were having yard sales and moving to New Mexico (in anticipation of the Arizona law) – that they just couldn’t stay in such an oppresive atmosphere. That doesn’t sound like they are entrenched into their communities (…we can’t possibly deport 20 million people…) — that sounds pretty transient to me. What the heck am I missing?

We need EVERY state to pass such laws. Then when they go home, maybe those (US-educated) millions can straighten out their own countries.
    What a concept!

So now legal, law abiding citizens like Sherriff Joe are targeted for killing while illegal, murdering drug cartel leaders are free to come and go as they please and we can’t ask them who they are. What a upside down world.

Now maybe the Hollywood crowd and the drug users in San Francisco will boycott drug cartels who threaten US citizens with murder. After all, they were really concerned that a person going for ice cream may be held in jail for a few hours for violating our laws by not possessing their papers. They should be really concerned when someone is threatened with death for following our laws.

They buy dope from these cartels right?

How’s the economy doing in AZ? Are these illegals loosing their jobs or unable to find work and that is why they are leaving while the media blames it on the law? The economy drove out lots of spanish speakers near me. The amnesty only crowd will lie about anything. I don’t much care why the illegals left, only that they left. Self-deportation is cheaper and very effective.

rambler … answer is “all the above” … always have a percentage of “hangers on” that won’t leave unless they can’t avoid it …

I have daughters that teach school and they are telling me that the number of kids in their classes has dropped already …

I suspect those not leaving have not yet lost their jobs or feel secure because they have been here a long time using false SSN’s and ID’s without being caught and therefore are riding it out …

Am sure there are also those that have had children here and plan on using the liberal rants about US Citizen kids and not separating the families B.S. …

They are not leaving to go back to Mexico. They are moving to other States. Mexico has no jobs for them. They need work (or US welfare).

The US needs to have a better guest worker program but can not until our borders are enforced. That means workplace enforcement too.

I can’t believe that lady criticising Gov Brewer who said she hire illegals in her interior decorating business and doesn’t care if they are. Do you pay employer taxes on those people? Then why do I if I am competing with you? You have an unfair advantage because you cheat and steal but its ok with you? It ain’t ok with me you cheating scum. I am trying to make a living too. Do they not care about me because I am not brown? Racists.

But hey, you get ahead in America by cheating. Everyone does it. The ends justify the means. Is that the message we want ot send. Proponents of illegal immigration are doing just that. Most illegals steal jobs from others and cheat on their “taxes”. Where is the outrage? Is it ok if I cheat too just to keep up?

Biggest bunch of nonsense I have ever heard. And now they threaten violence. Bring it on imbeciles.

It’s amazing to me how many people on the right are still talking as if this fraudulent, usurper is actually doing what he does out of ignorance and inexperience. He is doing everything he can to do as he is and more. There is no rationalizing with this idea log. He is out to destroy America and doing a pretty damn good job of it also.

I honestly believe you get beyond his community organizing talents and campaign speeches, this guys is a dolt. He doesn’t/can’t think for himself…surely you’ve heard him stammer and studer when he doesn’t have his teleprompters. And the left made fun of Bush’s speech?

I pray the stories and moods I see on some Fox programs and talk radio are true and we rid our selves these scummy traitors to the greatest country in history. Then being vigilant to watch the voters of the new American legislators…making sure they know we are watching and acting on their every move. Not forgetting this socialist view is held on all levels of government in our country, from animal control(dog catcher is probably politically incorrect anymore) to mayor to state rep. to a governor. As they have been designated “corrupt o’ crats.”

    God bless this wonderful country.

Americans that deal with these illegals as employers or contributors to the illegals advantage in anyway to me are thieves, thugs, traitors. They are as guilty as the illegals themselves.
