Claire McCaskill: Missouri Voters Too Stupid to Realize What’s Good For Them

By Doug Powers  •  August 5, 2010 03:27 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

Okay, the Missouri Senator didn’t phrase it exactly that way, but that’s what she said.

On Tuesday, Missouri voters overwhelmingly rejected a federal mandate to purchase health insurance.

Naturally, that’s just because most voters didn’t understand the product and are incapable of wrapping their heads around the totally awesome creamy goodness that is Obamacare:

McCaskill said she understood what Missouri voters had been trying to say about the healthcare reform law for which she had voted in the Senate. But the centrist senator downplayed the vote as a result of heavy Republican primary turnout and a lack of education about the effects of the law.

“I certainly noticed the vote on Prop C, the healthcare law, and: message received,” she said Wednesday in a conference call with state reporters.

“I think there has been … a lot of noise about the mandate that people have gotten so focused on that they don’t realize that there’s going to be more access and affordability and more choices,” she said.

It’s too bad for the Senator doesn’t understand that even us rubes, hicks, hayseeds, simpletons and peasants have asked ourselves a very simple question that answers itself: If everybody’s going to like it so much, why does it have to be mandated?

That will certainly be true for the govt. dependent class, who will receive enormouse subsidies to the point their health care will be essentially free. For those paying for those subsidies there will be more taxes, skyrocketing insurance rates, longer waits and a number of new govt. bureaucracies to deal with (that is the choice part). And just in case your not intelligent enough to take part in this new system you will be fined for not exercising your right to health care.

I also remember that the answer I got back was condescending and had the tone of someone speaking to an idiot. McCaskill should know that the vast majority of Missourians in 2011 will experience a minimum 50% increase in taxes – from 10% to 15% to start, and that does NOT include the HealthCare’s additional costs (taxes). One will affect every kid, vet, elderly and permanently or short term disabled citizen who will pay MORE for medical devices and critical medical equipment!

Now, I have developed an aversion to the voices of BHO, Pelosi, Reid, Holder, Axelrod and the list goes on!

After working so hard to pass Prop C here in Missouri, the only hope left is IF other states take up the fight against ObamaCare and against Illegal Immigration!
