10:29am Eastern. Waters playing up the “increasing minority access” card that she emphasized on Al Sharpton’s radio show.
Waters: “No one should question my devotion to public service.”
Flashback from my column last week:
On the Reverend Al Sharpton’s national radio show on Tuesday afternoon, Waters played the persecuted champion of Urban America to perfection. She claimed the meeting was arranged on behalf of all black banks in the country. Sympathizers are now framing the matter as a threat to “advocacy for black businesses” and whispering loudly about a “racial profiling” campaign against Waters, her embattled colleague Rep. Charlie Rangel, and other ethically-challenged members of the Congressional Black Caucus. But congressional investigators concluded that “OneUnited’s exclusive representation at the meeting” was the “cause for concern,” not Waters’ noble-sounding social justice agenda. Stonewalling by OneUnited top officials Robert Cooper and Kevin Cohee exacerbated the Office of Congressional Ethics’ concern. As did fellow Democrat Rep. Barney Frank’s ignored warning to Waters to “stay out of” the matter.
In her defense, Rep. Waters pooh-poohs the OneUnited Bank rescue as a pittance compared to the rest of the monstrous TARP bailout. She’d have a teensy more credibility on the fiscal responsibility front if she had opposed TARP from the start, instead of playing an instrumental role in throwing the Congressional Black Caucus’s full support behind it.
As is usually the case in Washington, these alleged violations dwarf the wheeling and dealing Rep. Waters has continued to broker as an entrenched incumbent and senior member of the House Financial Services Committee. The so-called financial “reform” bill law she helped shepherd is stuffed with color-coded-based mandates and favoritism. From “We Shall Overcome” to “Get Mine:” Ah, racial progress.
Back at the press conference, Waters takes a break to admonish photographers for hurting her eyes, then introduces grandson Mikael Moore to present slideshow.
Moore’s closing refrain: “No benefit. No improper action. No failure to disclose. No case.”
Waters goes back to defending creation of Office of Minority and Women Inclusion carveouts and color-coded preferences in financial reform bill.
11:07am Waters: “I won’t cut a deal.”
Waters attacks ethics panel workings, suggests office shouldn’t be allowed to issue findings before an election.
Reporter questions Waters’ timeline on discussions with Barney Frank. Waters stumbles, says her staff is still looking into it and says maybe Frank’s office will help her out.
Reporter asks Waters if her husband still owns OneUnited shares. “Yes, no one wants to buy them.”
11:26am Eastern. Reporter hones in on question of why no other member banks of National Banking Association except for OneUnited met with Treasury. Waters plays dumb. “I don’t quite get it.” Other trade associations don’t always bring many members with them, she says. Per above, House ethics panel statement points out that the exclusive representation of OneUnited raised questions. And the House Ethics panel statement of violations also noted that Paulson’s office was concerned that attendance at meeting was so limited.
And finally: It’s all George W. Bush’s fault, of course.

This just gets better and better. Watching Maxine Waters blather and melt down into incoherent ravings, more than usual I might add. I do wish her and Chally would get together in a moaning duet though.
There seems to be a typo in the blog entry. Her name is OneUnitedBank.

An example must be made for the cause of justice and American Civilization. Maxine, Barney, Chris, Charlie, and Franklin should be at the head of the line.
I wish I had the reassurance that something will be done to this corrupt, money-grabbing CROOK. sigh. But I know she will not receive what she so richly (no pun intended) deserves. It may be fun to watch her squirm like the snake she is, so I’ll take a look.
Flash back to the LA riots. Representative OneUnitedBank said the LA riots were “a spontaneous reaction to a lot of injustice and a lot of alienation and frustration.”
So, just to be clear, she is ok with destruction and looting if it is done by people who see injustice and are frustrated.
I had to bail after only a few minutes. I am heading for a much needed shower. Listening to her lie made me feel dirty and cheap. Her inability to look directly at her audience is telling. Lying liar who lies through her lie hole.
She will deal three full decks of race cards in the first 10 minutes….. YAWN

Maxine’s “Maam moment?”
When Richard Daley was caught giving millions of dollars of Chicago business to his son (now the current Chicago mayor), he said “Who can blame a father for helping his son.” That was let off the hook. This is how corrupt Chicago politics has survived all these decades. Despite his notorious history as a gang leader and racist, he garnered 90 percent of the black vote. This is how we end up in this kind of mess.

Since we have an election every two years, is there a time frame before an election? Like no sooner than say 24 months before an election if the target is a Demonrat, no more than 24 days before an election if it’s a Republican?
I’m guessing she’ll be found guilty, chastised by the house, and then re-elected by her constiuents 12 more times.
Mark my words. Waters and Rangel will be re-elected handily because to their constituents being a scofflaw and “sticking it to the Man” is a feature, not a bug.
There have been lots of those in CA. The ones that reopened in other states made those states very happy.
She got where she is today by playing the race card, so why stop now. She doesn’t have any other skills to fall back on. It’s not as if she spent any time acquiring skills to do her job with honesty and integrity because that would have been too difficult for her. Cheating is easy. She just never planned to spend her retirement incarcerated.
Seems she’s reaching the bottom of the excuse barrel now; blaming “Bush” for her bad ethics. Whenever a left-winger is in trouble, it’s easy just to blame “Bush”. Getting old, lady, getting old.

She and Rangel used the system to have the nanny state they created to take care to take care of them as well. They are fighting to keep from having all their perks slip through their fingers. Maxine the socialist princes is getting what she deserves.

What bothers me about Charlie and Maxine is that they are the norm to me in Washington. I don’t think Americans generally have any idea how perverted and corrupt these people are. Federal, state, and local politicians are corrupt to the bone. We, the people, will lose the Republic if we just laugh and turn a blind eye to these crooks. It makes me sad when I see people posting here who remark that they will get reelected again and again…sigh.
I think it’s a safe bet that young Mikael is being groomed to replace Granny “Congresswoman.” once she’s gone.
It may not be a problem for some, but I would argue that “learning the ropes“, or “the way thing’s are done” from Maxine Waters, is a sure recipe guaranteeing future corruption.
Of course young Mikey can always use the Waters’ Playbook when he’s scrutinized, by claiming “RACISM.”
It’s really a shame that there’s no way to put exploding dye packs in the money politicians receive from the crooks they serve. I’m sure they’d have an excuse for that, too!
Is it just me, or does that sound like one of those sleazy debt reduction commercials that tells you it’s your patriotic duty to eliminate 50% of your credit card debt? That’s debt that you legitimately ran up by having irresponsible spending habits, of course.
When one realizes that Waters and Jackson-Lee are actually members of the U.S. Congress, it’s not difficult to conclude why we’re in the trouble we’re in. Just so that no one calls me racist, I’ll throw in Reid and Grayson to even things out.
We’ve always had those in CONgress with questionable intelligence and ethics. We just are much more aware of it because of modern instant media. Our founders gave us the tools to boot em out by election and have the media and judicial system keep them in check. They didn’t foresee the complete tilt of the LSM to the far left, the incumbants the parties rigging the system to their advantage, which usually favors the more cunningly astute dems, especially when they have left leaning LSM and judges to cover for them.
