Fishermen against Obama job destruction
I spotlighted the neon green radical-led White House ocean grab last week that is undermining the health of the fishing industry.
On Thursday, a fleet of fishermen will gather at Martha’s Vineyard to protest Obama’s destructive eco-policies.
It’s just one more wave of the citizen backlash by thousands of victims of the White House war on jobs (flashback: Pushing back: Thousands of Obama’s drilling moratorium victims rally in La. ).
From the Gloucester Daily Times via the Boston Herald:
Leaders of the recreational and commercial fishing industry are planning a boat protest against federal policies Thursday outside the harbor of Vineyard Haven on Martha’s Vineyard, where President Obama and his family are summer vacationing.
The protest is being organized after a bipartisan, bicameral coalition of federal lawmakers — including the core of the President’s Congressional base on banking and health care issues — have given up hope of working productively with Obama’s top appointee for oceans and fisheries, Jane Lubchenco, who heads the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Boats from Gloucester and New Bedford, the hub ports of New England, Point Judith, R.I., and New York and New Jersey are expected, according to Tina Jackson, president of the American Alliance of Fishermen.
…A co-organizer is the Recreational Fishermen’s Alliance, the lead organizing group behind the national protest outside the U.S. Capitol in February that drew as many as 5,000 demonstrating against federal policies seen as heavily tilted against the industry and unduly swayed by non-government environmental organizations.
Since her appointment to head the NOAA by President Obama, Lubchenco, who had been an officer of the Environmental Defense Fund and a leader of the Pew Oceans Commission, has pushed to convert the fisheries into commodities markets under a management system known as catch shares.
In a statement to the Times soon after her confirmation by the Senate, Lubchenco’s office said her goal was to see a “significant fraction of the vessels … removed.”
With the stocks rebuilding strongly, fishermen wonder at the need to reduce the size of the work force.

Mark my words…this POS POTUS will not see the protest and will not even be made aware of it. He is insulated from all the Bible-clinging, gun toting commoners. He covers up those jumbo ears and goes “lalalalalalalala”, which sounds oddly like a mooseslum chant. We do need to keep protesting, even though they don’t care. I have a feeling they will care soon enough when they are all indicted for treason.

concerning the ‘astroturf’ comment by Pelosi. I’m beginning to think that it is possible that their prior underhanded and dirty tricks have blinded them to reality.
In other words, D’s have been so integrally involved with artificial grievance mongering for so long that they no long recognize legitimate “redress of grievances” by the voting public (we the people ya know).
Like in a horror movie where a person gets scared by a person in a monster suit playing a joke, only to find the real monster later that they then think is their friend.
Until Pelosi said ‘astroturf’, I had never considered it. After she said it, I’m believing more and more that they only think opposition is manufactured. That’s a dangerous way to “rule” (i mean govern).
Y’know, if it were the olden days when those boats would be expected to be armed to defend themselves from pirates, I bet they’d get some attention. In fact, the actions of the current administration greatly resemble piracy on a grand scale.

I can see it now, some friend of “O” has a rustbucket fishing vessel that is welded to the pier, but still gets a share of other people’s work.
Good post, but I differ in one respect. I think they know that opposition to their policies is real, but they also know that their constituency consists of gullible morons, and that the msm will carry their water for them. So they do and say anything without fear of being called out on it, at least by the media. Before the election I commented that Obama was an idealog with no experience. All he had was a head full of theories and he would use America like a giant petri dish to conduct his experiments. He has.
He brought along a group of people similar to him; no experience, idealists, who have no understanding of the cause and effect of their decisions.
As a group they are completely lost and totally incompetent to serve at the level they are at. It like a Disney movie, where the kid are dumped on the island with no adult leadership.
They are best suited to be on campus spouting their theoretical lunacy to a group of 18 year olds with mush for brains.

Now that would be justice. I do expect our congressmen to take the ultimate action against this administration from top to bottom. that will finally show Republicans have finally grown a pair and in what they always talk about but rarely do…we have laws in the land and they need to be enforced.

Take fish away from a fisherman and give it to a man too lazy to fish for himself, and you have a vote for an election.
Make a man believe he’s entitled to the fisherman’s fish and you have a vote for a lifetime.
Tell a fisherman he can’t fish and … everyone’s pissed.
When I retire, I’m considering moving onto my boat and traveling some. I figure to fish, trap crabs, etc., to supplement my food supplies. I won’t be happy if some governmental weasel tells me I can’t even with the proper fishing/crabbing licenses. I’ll be so unhappy, in fact, that I’ll consider offering said weasel a one way trip about halfway to the far shore of what ever body of water I might be sailing.
