Not again: Another act of Democrat vandalism falsely blamed on Tea Party
Remember my handy March 2010 guide? Flashback: How the Left fakes the hate: A primer.
Remember this case? Flashback:
In late August 2009, as lawmakers faced citizen revolts at health care town halls nationwide, the Colorado Democratic Party decried a vandalism attack at its Denver headquarters. A hammer-wielding thug smashed 11 windows and caused $11,000 in property damage. The perpetrator, Maurice Schwenkler, turned out to be a far Left nutball/transgender activist/single-payer anarchist who had worked for a SEIU-tied 527 group and canvassed for a Democrat candidate. Nevertheless, State Democrat Party chair Pat Waak continued to blame “people opposed to health care” for the attack.
I was reminded of this far Left hoax incident — unjustly blamed on the Tea Party — when I read today about what really happened at Democrat Rep. Russ Carnahan’s office in Missouri.
Jim Hoft has the story:
Last Tuesday August 17, 2010, Rep. Russ Carnahan’s office was reportedly vandalized and “firebombed” at 2 AM in the morning. Hours later police arrested a suspect for the crime and held him for several hours.
Of course, when the “firebombing” was reported local leftists blamed the tea party activists.
Then things got really weird. The police released the suspect and the Carnahan camp went silent. Carnahan employees were seen dumping documents into a dumpster but refused to to talk to reporters. There was a complete blackout on information.
Now we know why.
The suspect was reportedly a disgruntled progressive activist employed by Russ Carnahan. An unnamed source familiar with the case released the information. Suspect Chris Powers reportedly was upset because he did not get paid so he firebombed the Carnahan finance offices at 2 in the morning…
Here’s what one of the lefty newspapers said last week in insinuating that a conservative was responsible:
Police aren’t releasing the man’s name until charges are officially filed. No motive was given for the attack, though one could suspect that the perpetrator is not a fan of the congressman. Given what we know of him — 50, white, angry — he certainly fits the demographics of a Tea Party member.
Perhaps, he joined his fellow “patriots” earlier this year when they burned Carnahan’s photo in effigy or placed a coffin on the sidewalk outside his home.
Dana Loesch blasts the smear merchants who rushed to judgment:
Did the Carnahan camp know this possible truth and consent by silence to the media’s attempt to trump this up as a tea party incident? If this is true, doesn’t this make the fourth incident in which people associated with the Carnahan campaign have run afoul of the law and have engaged in illegal behavior? Why didn’t the Russ Carnahan campaign correct the narrative of the local alternative weekly and Jake Wagman’s subtle suggestion that it was a tea partier? Because he’s in the campaign of his life and is desperate for anything, even the sympathy vote?
The alternative weekly’s heinously irresponsible “blogger” – who once admitted, in print, his inability to vet his posts because he lacked the skills to write ten posts a day and be accurate – and the daily’s Jake Wagman need to issue retractions and clarifications, respectively, and the Russ Carnahan campaign needs to issue an apology for allowing this charade to be pinned on the very people whom he seeks to represent.
Alas, as I’ve noted before, being a Tea Party-bashing liberal means never having to say you’re sorry for smearing conservative dissent.

I accept their apology. Ha!
Does this idiot DRIVE…??? Because I don’t care to have him on the same road I occupy, with that attitude.
“I can’t cover the miles I want to each day and worry about that “safety” crap.”
But that really presupposes he cares about people. As a Collectivist, we know he only PRETENDS to care about people.
Sometimes I just crack myself up.
Since so many demonrats are having tough elections, I expect it will get much worse before November 3rd. Assume the opposite of whatever the lame stream media reports.
Rep. Russ Carnahan’s office was reportedly quoted as saying, “actually, we think the young man was simply burning a flag. We applaud this symbolic gesture against the violence of the tea party.”
This is getting so old and so lame. Normal people are on to this crap. Whenever blame is laid on the Tea Party immediately after the event, you can be sure the rush to judgement is someone on the left speaking stupidly. It sounds like the creeps Carnahan has surrounding him are prize jerks, felons, arsonists and have anger management issues. Typical of the left. I know that is generalizing, but it is true, isn’t it?
But when questioned by media as to why there was not residue from a burned flag, the Campaign spokesman said, “Flag?, we meant draft card”…
I really do not recall any stories like this of conservative “plants” at lib rallies, or conservatives committing vandalism and blaming it on liberals. If there are instances, they would be extremely rare. So what can be said about the true mental sickness of liberals; a deep immaturity, and nasty petulance that makes them act like 12 year olds, when they dont get their own way? These flakes then accuse conservatives of doing everything that they themselves are guilty of. The inmates are running and destroying the asylum.
I’m impresseed. I thought Progressives had no idea how to start a fire.
Hmmmmmmm others must be involved.
There certainly has to be an inquiry into this unlicensed carbon emission. Same old story; there’s never a Green Policeman around when you need one. Probably sitting in his Volt cruiser stuffing his face with a fat free whole wheat muffin and slurping an herbal tea.
Okay, snarky break over….
And I’ll just be willing to bet that the reporters are going to get to the bottom of what documents were being seen getting dumped into a dumpster…

Upset over not getting paid by his employer? Whay, how CAPITALIST PIG of him!

Victim card, victim card, victim card!
Mmmm. Profile of a 50-year-old angry white male…that could fit SEIU and a whole bunch of Chicago leftist thugs, don’t you think? Maybe like that leftist Democrat who flew his plane into the IRS office in Austin in a suicide fire bombing. No tea party there, either. Shucks, where to find perps? Maybe the subscriber list to Huffington Post?
Holy crap that’s me! Cheese it the coppers!
Spacey! Get over to that dumpster!!!
this is just false-flag incident number 9,999.
When will these people be punished for their slanderous dialogue?
OK Jim Hoft, whoever you are, you just tripped my pet peeve wire…
The media here in St Louis made such a to do about this, you would have thought old Russy was sitting in the room when the burning object came through the window. Now to have it turn out to be one of his disgruntled workers is toooo funny. The Carnahans are a stone around the necks of Missourians, and have been for decades.
The Carnahan spokesperson went on to say, “Damn that George Bush”, to which several members of the media knowingly nodded and proceeded to write in their notebooks.
Rogue – you’re on a roll…danged funny!
You guys never, ever issue corrections or apologize when you report something that is later proven false. You should try holding yourselves to the same standard before you go shaming others.
File this one in the “MOSS” (More of the Same Sh*t) folder. Reminds me of the time back in 2004 when I saw a car drive by with a bumper sticker, “I got keyed for Kerry.” First thought that came to my mind was, “Yeah, and I bet I know who did it.”
It’s gotten to the point that when a lib dies, the first cause you have to consider is suicide.
Nothing of any value whatsoever. I have noticed that the trolls have mostly left MM’s blogs. I think a lot of them have actually seen some of the truths we write here and are ashamed of their previous trolling. Huggybear seems to be one of the last holdouts.
Actually, Scrapper, they’re attending the monthly liberal conference (full moon, you know) to come up with new bumper sticker rhetoric to innundate the electorate with just prior to November.
I think their new slogan is “Blame Bush!” It has a ring to it since both words do begin with “B” and it fits easily onto a bumper sticker and into a bumper sticker sized mind. But don’t give it away too soon; they need it for their October Surprise.
Hey, ThuggyBear,
You posted some stuff, but not the “proof” of falsity. Cites, please.

There is some evidence that the “bomb-thrower” is still posting on TPM (toilet paper memos), this day in support of the Caliphate-On-Hudson.
Progressives, not know for their debating skills, nor common sense, must act out, due to frustration. Much like their ideolistic Islamic brethren, they talk tolerance, compassion, and logic, but are incapable of exhibiting any.
Their psychological need to display their superior intellect, and that exhibition is usually by some senseless act of violence, or vandalism.
Once found out, the attempts to rationalization their behavior begins to flow, followed closely behind with lies, distortions, abstractions, and false accusations. Personal responsibility? Not in their lexicon.
I find it rather ironic that the “peace movement” is inundated by many clueless, but devoted Democrat acolytes who joyfully commit acts of violence and anarchy…all in the name of “progress.”
The last time I saw a Democrat apologize for smearing a Republican, it was Dan Rather apologizing for allowing clearly documents about Bush to be “reported” on his “news” program. That was ’04, IIRC.
We’ll all go blue in the face if we hold our breath waiting for Carnahan or any other Demoncrap to apologize for such a “mistake”. They are fighting the rest of us in an ideological war where anything goes and there are no rules – at least for them.
Where have all the editors gone?
There is a great line from the John Wayne movie “The Quiet Man” that we should adopt. Will Danaher blames the IRA for something it did not do. This is their response.
“So, the I.R.A. is in on this too.”
“If it were, Will Daneher, not a scorched stone of your fine home would be left standing.”

Amen to that and pray for the Carnahan sisters (thanks Spacey) to be booted out on their collective a$$es. It’s time to rid ourselves of the ghost of Mel. He wasn’t much then and they certainly aren’t now. Little Rusty is a weasel and a coward.
Political family dynasties are a disaster…we have our own in Colorado, the Udalls. We’ll all be old and living in nursing homes before we ever hear of an apology from Carnahan for slandering the local Tea Party.
I guess that’s the “spray-n-pray” method of journalism.
In PA, we have our own royal family, the Caseys. Senator Bobby is at least the third generation. YECH!
Yes; Russ hurt her va-jay-jay
Hey Dexter–why would I rummage through documents? Now, if they had dumped some old jewelry….
speaking of…I must tell you about a lovely gold brooch I just…
“…Given what we know of him — 50, white, angry — he certainly fits the demographics of a Tea Party member…”
I love that line. Kind of like…
“Given what we know of him — young, Black, angry — he certainly fits the demographics of a criminal..
I suspect among those dumped documents are some real gems.
From the lefty newspaper:
Yet these are the same people who tell us that we cannot – must not – employ profiling when screening airline passengers, even though doing so can make air travel safer and far less invasive for everyone involved.
Words cannot express the contempt that I feel for these people.
Great movie. Great line.

best line (from Barry Fitzgerald’s character, Michaleen)upon seeing the broken down marriage bed:
‘Impetuous.”
