The Dog Daze of a Presidency

By Doug Powers  •  September 6, 2010 10:40 PM

**Written by Doug Powers

President Obama apparently strayed off-prompter briefly Monday. This somewhat whiny reference seems like something that would come from a politician exhausted by marathon campaigning and beaten down by the opposition, which is odd for someone whose party is still in control of Washington and who spent the better part of the summer on vacation:

Obama was in Milwaukee to speak at the Milwaukee Laborfest, attended by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. He used the speech to promote his $50 billion infrastructure plan and to criticize Republicans ahead of crucial midterm elections.

“Some powerful interests who had been dominating the agenda in Washington for a very long time and they’re not always happy with me. They talk about me like a dog. That’s not in my prepared remarks, but it’s true,” he told the union crowd.

If by “like a dog” Obama means that every one year of his presidency feels like seven, I’m forced to agree with him. Otherwise it’s a little insulting, if for no other reason than that there are many breeds of dogs that could run the country at a lower unemployment rate.

How exactly does one talk about somebody like a dog? Or are the “powerful interests” talking to a dog — or are they speaking as a dog? Are the “powerful interests” dog haters? Are the “powerful interests” democrats who are trying to get re-elected? It’s anybody’s guess.

Here’s the video:

I officially take back everything I wrote this summer — I liked him better when he was on vacation.

Can anyone imagine if Dan Quayle or Sara Palin had said something this stupid and nonsensical? The liberal media would have gone crazy. First let’s take Obama’s remark that “powerful interests” are out to get him. Obama supports very powerful interest groups such as organized labor, particularly the public sector unions and he has given the union bosses carte blanche from his administration. Obama has never veered from pursuing every last drop of the labor movement’s agenda. Then there is the Association of Trial Lawyers. Obama has done everything that the trial lawyers’ lobby has instructed him to do. The Obama administration even advanced proposals fror special tax deductions for trial lawyers. Then he says they talk about him like a dog. Actually, most people talk to their dogs with great affection and love. Most polls taken about people and their dogs show that most people view their dogs as family members. So what the heck is he talking about? Maybe Chris Matthews, who gets a “thrill running up my legs” when he thinks about both Obamas can explain.

By the way, I haven’t heard anything about “the one’s” dog in quite a while. Wasn’t that decesion national news for a couple of week a year ago? Hope-a-Dope’s problem is that at an early age he learned how to manipulate the liberal guilt-based quest for what Harry Reid calls “The Clean Negro Who Doesn’t Speak Jive (Except When He Wants To) Yet Somehow Remains a Democrat,”(TM) but at some point he made the critical error of swallowing his own propaganda.

Watching clips of his over-exposed self on FNC every day — every day — I can only recall the words of “The Shogun of Harlem” from the movie “The Last Dragon”:

“I am getting sick and tired of these bullst*t superman stories about the ‘wassa!’ Leroy Green, catching bullets with his teeth — catching bullets with his teeth! N*gga, please!”

No better example of “The Peter Principle.”

For the most part, libs set up blacks to fail by inculcating among them a conviction of false victimhood, washed down with a lethal cocktail of self-pity, resentment, avoidance of personal responsibility, learned helplessness and a something-for-nothing sense of entitlement; but with Hope-a-Dope they swung to the other side of the spectrum, so that the look of shock on his face is genuine when — once in office and he has to actually lead instead of campaign — he falls off the Fairyland Unicorn and lands flat on his @ss.

And that would be a terrible position to put good people in, as it would bring down a Constitutional crisis…and put the Republic in danger. (Not from the military, IMNHO, but from opportunists in the regime.)

So he hates the human race and he doesn’t like being treated like a dog. So, what exactly does he want us to treat him like?

We already have a constitutional crises. I would say his dealing with Arizona qualifies. I would say Obamacare qualifies. I would say most of what he does qualifies. This would just bring it to a head. Better sooner than later in my opinion.

Wow… how Nixonian of him. How thin is that skin, again? Anyone doubt that he’s keeping an enemies list, at this point?

Again, very Nixon. Very borderline paranoid.

It would be just sad, if he didn’t have the nuclear codes. I wonder if Dan Akroyd will revive his “paranoid president” schtick again…

If he continues to lose the MSM, I think it will only take a couple unexpectedly tough questions to provoke an outburst.
Of course, he doesn’t do press conferences, so we probably won’t see one.
