What else is new: Muslim initiates “Burn the Stars and Stripes Day”
In retaliation for wackadoodle pastor Terry Jones’s Burn a Koran Day on 9/11, a British Muslim activist has called for an international “Burn the Stars and Stripes Day.”
A radical Islamic activist and lawyer in the U.K. has called on Muslims worldwide to burn U.S. flags outside American embassies on Sept. 11, a “direct retaliation” against a Florida church’s plan to burn Qurans on the same day.
Anjem Choudary, former leader of the banned hardline Islamic group Islam4UK, told CBS News in London he was calling for, “an international burn the Stars and Stripes day” on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Choudary, who regularly organizes small demonstrations in Britain calling for the implementation of Islamic law, was the first public figure — and a likely one — to call for retaliation against Gainesville, Fla. Reverend Terry Jones’ plans to burn at least 100 Qurans.
Choudary’s co-religionists have already gotten a jump start:
Hundreds of angry Afghans burned an American flag and chanted “Death to the Christians” on Thursday to protest plans by a small American church to torch copies of the Muslim holy book on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
Local officials in Mahmud Raqi, the capital of the Kapisa province some 100 kilometers (60 miles) northeast of Kabul, estimated that up to 4,000 people took part in the protest. But NATO spokesman James Judge said the protest numbered between 500 to 700 people.
Yawn. Every day is a Western flag-burning day somewhere in the Muslim world for every reason under the sun (see here here here here here and here, for starters).
Koran-burning isn’t the real “provocation.” Or Mohammed cartoons. As I’ve said many times over the years, the mere existence of infidels is what provokes and inflames the Religion of Perpetual Outrage. Retaliating against Koran-burners or targeting cartoonists is a lingering pretext to demonstrate that centuries-old, Koran-inspired hatred. If it isn’t cartoons, it’s always something else. From fresco rage to book rage to film rage to beauty pageant rage to Koran-dropping rage to cartoon rage to Pope rage, to ceramic Mohammed bobblehead rage to teddy bear rage to Burger King ice cream cone rage to blasphemous soccer ball rage, it never ends.
They never forget and they never forgive. Which is why we must never submit.

Rather like the boy crying wolf, this has been done so many times, in so many different forms. It would probably have more meaning as retaliation if the same flag burning, effigy burning etc had not been done for lesser so-called offenses to the religion of Islam. They should have saved their outrage for the big stuff.
With how many Western Flags are burned on a daily basis in the Muslim Communities around the world I wonder where I could invest in flad making companies? It seems like a pretty safe investment for some time to come.

While I think it’s a bad idea to burn the koran, it does bother me that our own President supports the first amendment rights of a Kuwaiti citizen to build a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center, but does NOT support the first amendment rights of an American citizen to burn a koran.
Also, some of the reasons given for not burning:
It will anger muslims. They’re already angry.
They’ll start bombing Americans. They’re already doing that.
It’s insensitive. It’s also insensitive of them to kill Christians, burn Churches, etc.
It won’t “promote peace and understanding”. Neither will building that mosque.
You’d have to look for it yourself, spacey. A lot gets reported we never hear anything about here in the U.S.

Books used to be a limited commodity. Burning it would make it lost forever. Writing something down makes it last forever (see the Old Testament which the Muslims offensively say has been changed).
A book is paper. A book has nothing to do with God. God can handle His Creation Himself. He doesn’t need some cave dweller in Pakistan rioting to protect His honor. And he would never want people to kill ‘for’ Him.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the protests over the LA cop shooting of a bloody knife-wielding illegal immigrant from Guatamala but what no one is reporting except a few radio stations is that the police were called in by illegal immigrant citizens who were being threatened.

The core difference between how “we” responded to the Nazis in WWII and how “we” respond to Islamic radicalism today is that our cultural elites have since abandoned the traditional definition of “we”. We are trying to have a discussion while speaking two different languages.
To us, “we” means Americans who still accept the US Constitution as the ruling legal document that defines and protects individual freedom and is subordinate to no other authority.
“They” have moved on to a “one-world-without-borders” mindset where nations have been demoted to being mere markets, where borders are just artificial map constructs telling us where the orange market ends and the pale blue market begins. Those pastels map makers use don’t contrast well enough to clearly see the meeting points and besides, those borders being offensive to world citizens, they are only temporary.
To everyone who knows the story of Cain and Able…..All acts by “Cain” (such as burning the American Flag and falsely accusing Tea Party participants) against “Able” are explained.

The only solution, and I mean the only solution, is to raid the American mosques and seize the Imam’s records for violating their 501 c 3 status by encouraging political activities, racketeering (laundering charitable donations for filtering to Muslim Brotherhood affiliates), and prosecute each and every Imam for violation of RICO statutes.

I don’t think this pastor is all that wackadoodle; look at what he’s accomplished? He’s helped expose the leftists who will trample our First Amendment if there is the slightest hint that doing so will be politically expedient.
If Bill Ayers has a Constitutionally protected right to desecrate the US Flag then this pastor has the same right to desecrate a quoohranne.
The best thing he’s done is expose Islam for what it really is – an INTOLERANT cult unable to co-exist with any other religion and certainly unable to adapt to the idea of what our country is all about – individual freedom.

If the pastor decides to not burn the koran because of the pressure from muslim sources, we’ll just be reinforcing the lesson that threats work. Announcing the whole thing in the first place was kind of stupid (IMO), but now that they’ve threatened violence unless it’s canceled makes it necessary to go ahead and let em burn.

Remember Matthews loving on Obama the other day? Obama was talking about his family and their love and support. The love and support came from his White, Christian, AMERICAN family. The Muslim and African side of his family disowned him. . . yet Obama was upset at Churchill for the imagined treatment of his absentee father.
We could just continuously offend the jihadies until they spontaneously explode with anger. All that anger can take a toll on the body.
I would remind everyone that if not for friendly Muslims in Iraq our casualties would have been much higher and we would still have combat brgades slugging it out over there.
It’s easy and fun to trash them all, but the hard reality is you cannot win an insurgency without the support of the people where the insurgency is taking place. That is a historical and doctrinally sound historical fact.
Winning an insurgency does not mean a complete session of violence. It means reducing the violence to the point where the locals can handle it. We did it with the active help of Iraqis and American kids from Muslim families.
If you cannot differentiate between them and our enemies, I submit you’re either a bigot or intellectually lazy; and if that offends anyone Tango Sierra.
