Obama’s Aunt Update: ‘The System Took Advantage of Me’

The entitlement mentality is strong with this one:
“If I come as an immigrant, you have the obligation to make me a citizen.” Those are the words from 58-year-old Zeituni Onyango of Kenya in a recent exclusive interview with WBZ-TV.
Onyango is the aunt of President Barack Obama. She has been living in the United States illegally for years, receiving public assistance in Boston.

Zeituni Onyango said she came to the United States in 2000 and had every intention of leaving. Then, however, she says she got deathly ill and was hospitalized. When she recovered, she said she was broke and couldn’t afford to leave.For two years Onyango said she lived in a homeless shelter, before she was moved into public housing. “I didn’t take advantage of the system. The system took advantage of me.”
“I didn’t ask for it; they gave it to me. Ask your system. I didn’t create it or vote for it. Go and ask your system,” she said unapologetically.
I won’t bother to ask how a poverty-stricken person (and an illegal one for that matter) could have possibly been hospitalized and apparently successfully treated pre-Obamacare, back when the poor were left to die in the gutter.
Hope & Change are truly dead. Even a relative of the president and illegal alien who was ultimately granted legal status and lived off the US taxpayer dime the entire time (and continues to) is bitching about “the system.” Auntie Onyango sounds like she’s just a job and an overcomplicated tax return away from joining the Tea Party.
For the record, I agree with Onyango — the system is broken. She wouldn’t agree with me as to why, but it’s a start.

That’s why the Democrats want more immigrants like her. They are dumb enough to vote for Democrats.
Look at this. Boozman is crushing Blanche Lincoln in the polls by over 25%. Has any multi-term senator ever lost a seat by a bigger margin? That’s amazing.
If Michael Steele had any clangers, he would organize a GOP funded “Help Auntie Zeituni” fund.

See can feel free to repay every cent she received and then she won’t feel so “used” by the system.
Hmmm. Exactly how did we exploit this woman? Kept her in public housing too long? Failed to move her into the White House? Didn’t she get any of the “Obama money” her sisters in Detroit were clamoring for? Heck, and she’s an Obama!
I hope, SO HOPE, Gov. Brewer will begin to use this to NAIL the immigration system to the wall!
They should BASH Obama soundly about the head with this. Be prepared for the Secret Service to say “…because she IS related to the POTUS, we intervened and made it a National Security issue”.
Obligated to make her a citizen?
How about an obligation to follow the law? or an obligation to follow a court order and get the hell out?
Perhaps someone can answer this.
If someone is immigrating here legally, do they not have to have a sponsor who will vouch to take care of them financially if needed?

Runs in the family.
It may be a nit-picky point regarding semantics, but, if memory serves correct, she came here and then applied for refugee/asylum status. Running away from something is not always one in the same as running toward something.
The US is the most generous nation in allowing in legal immigrants (yes, even during a near-historic economic downturn) and almost as generous in allowing in ILLEGAL persons as well.
Really, what does she offer the US that is so important or badly needed? If we are going to import persons from abroad, shouldn’t they at least show a basic potential to add to our economy rather than take from it? (especially when so many Americans are suffering right now???). Obama’s approach and policies on immigration SUCK!…badly — even most Democrats I know will readily admit as much.
That’s like saying “If I break into your house, you now have an obligation to adopt me into your family. Then I will expect you to feed me, cloth me, and give me free health care.”
That didn’t work so well for Randy Quaid.
He is. He’s just using taxpayer money to do it.
Obviously it was much better in her native land. America has wronged her. The U.S. should compensate her for her hardship. Imagine not working and being taken care of to a greater degree than what you were used to – poor Auntie.
Here’s a solution. Drive her to the coast, put her in the ocean and tell her that if she isn’t happy here, to swim back to Africa to freedom.
Obama hit the trifecta of bad press –
1. Carter’s wish for having as successful a term (SINGULAR!)as he did.
2. “Is This Our New Reality?” asked by someone who probably gave a serious donation to his election campaign but now deserves an award from Sarah Plain.
3. And … a little ‘nudge’ from his sweet Auntie Loony Zeituni to remind him why he was elected.
By the way, on her court date in Boston, she showed up being pushed in a wheelchair. After the judge did Sir Golfsalot a favor and let his auntie stay in the U.S., she got up and walked out all by herself.
Here is one other issue. If one of my Italian cousins or one of my wife’s relatives from Germany came to the US and became ill, they would not be living in a homeless shelter. they would until well enough to travel stay with me.

That is a very reasonable conclusion.
Wrong of course.
But as one bumps up against the “system” and some of our own citizens in society who feel exactly the same way why would you not reach that conclusion?
Auntie Youbangi should get down on her knees and be thankful she is not living out her years in a Mud Hut with the stench of her own feces as a room deodorizer. She should shut her bleeding Welfare Sucking gob and stay silent.
And where was Obama during all of this? He’s rolling in cash in Chi-Town but won’t lift a finger to help his beloved Auntie in Boston and she lays dying in the hospital with no money.
Obama the loser and his Auntie the leech. What a pair. They both need to be deported.

So, how many other illegal immigrants are living in public housing?
I was at the VA yesterday for a doctors appointment and overheard a homeless vet saying he could not get into any of the homeless shelters cause they are full of illegals.
The question is who took advantage of who? And since when is it the government’s obligation to give citizenship to immigrants. It used to be that the immigrant had to earn that privilege. Today welfare is the road to citizenship.

I can only tell you anecdotally. I have no specific numbers.
In the work we do with Sudanese immigrants who are here quite legally. They live in public housing. Have to. They have to learn how to be in America, get a job, etc. Which they do to their credit.
So I’m in the public housing apartments in north central Phoenix.
Between Eastern European and Hispanics many of them are illegal.
It creates tension between the legal immigrants some who are the same Eastern European and Hispanics and the illegals.
Its quite palpable and based on how they clump and gather you can tell the legals from the illegals.
Auntie is correct about one thing, I blame the “system” as well for allowing these aliens to stay as unwelcome guests of U.S. taxpayers (for their medical,incarceration, and educational expenses).

All I can think of is that I wouldn’t let a relative of mine live this way (unless they chose to).

This is what I hate about people who feel entitled to what I have…they are unapologetic in taking it.
The System (auntie is referring to) states, “The more you give them (illegals), the more they receive without contributions to this country; so shut up, roll over, and empty your pockets.”

Auntie Z, as far as “The System” is concerned, you don’t exist, as you are not a citizen – the ONLY way for you to illegally receive federal subsidies is to illegally APPLY FOR IT!!!

Yes, of course. The poor old woman, being taken advantage of and used and abused by the Big, Bad, Evil “SYSTEM”! And as we all know, she fought it tooth and nail, resisting in any and every way that she could. After all, her very famous nephew, the one who is quoted in one of his many auto-biographies as stating that she was his favorite auntie, so much so that he did not want her to be taken advantage of by assisting her himself and allowed her to grow stronger as a human being by being forced to live in homeless shelters and such in stead of either putting her up in his own home or getting her one of her own, or spending his money to ship her back to the land that fate itself has kept her from…you know, they way he makes sure his brother is becoming a better and stronger person by allowing him to live in a cardboard shack on $20 a month.
Yes, she is truly and inspiration to us all…the way she has refused hand-outs from the Government at every turn, yet those nasty “Men In Black” who held guns to her head, tprtured her cats, beat the soles of her feet with switches and threatened her with old Sally Jesse Raphael and Phil Donahue reruns if she did not take government money and go on welfare and such that, as an ILLEGAL alien she was NOT entitled to.
Why this martyr and saintly woman is not on the lecture circuit warning others of the evils of the Man keeping her down and forcing “The SYSTEM” on her is a mystery only she herself can solve.

Well, if Auntie Z feels so strongly about this then I recommend she reimburse all state, local and federal governments for the support that was wrongfully forced upon her and leave the country and never return! That will teach us a lesson…
