Immigration is a problem that DC can fix, but they won’t. There are problems with our form of government. One of them is that to get elected, sometimes you can’t do the ‘right thing’.
The ‘right thing’ about immigration is protecting American citizens and stopping the flow of illegal aliens.
It doesn’t matter if a Mexican picks a tomato. Why does the Mexican picking the tomato deserve citizenship.
There is an in between from deport all to grant citizenship for all. They can be workers without citizenship. For some reason if we don’t give citizenship to people who have broken laws, we are ‘violating their rights’.
Let’s secure the border. Then lets establish a work visa program where non-citizens can come work with no opportunity for citizenship.
There are solutions, but nobody in DC wants to do the right thing.
As horrifying as this video is, it doesn’t even scratch the surface of all the tragic events that take place every day perpetrated by vermin like this. The liberals think we’re just a bunch of meanies. I wonder how many rape trees have been planted in their backyards by all these hard working landscapers they all think are so wonderful.
This may be a bit of a stretch . . . but since Colbert was sworn in (I assume) as anyone is before giving testimony to Congress, and then he proceeded to do his usual schtick, could that be considered perjury? He may not have “lied” in the commonly understood sense, but he did not give any “real” testimony at any point. One might say he “lied” if he gave the impression he was actually going to give any serious testimony on the issue.
Terrible news about the Krentz family. They are in my prayers.
Having Colbert testify could turn into a great tv spot for Conservatives running in border states. The commercial could point out that the Dems in Congress brought a comedian to tesity in a joking manner on a serious subject that affects their lives daily. Then ask do you really want to leave the Democrats in charge in Novemeber. (I would also list statistics showing the crime and deaths caused by illegal immigrants as well as the costs involved.)
This may or may not be slightly off point, but does anyone know why on the broadcast of the Jets-Dolphins game yesterday, the score box at the bottom of the screen was done in Spanish?
I strongly disagree that we need to stop illegal immigration, we need to expand legal immigrant green cards. What we need to do is create a resident alien card for any one that wants to come to America to work. Having immigrants willing to work in the US reduces costs to business and increases profits to share holders. I’m sorry for the poorly educated HS drop out US citizens, but they should have stayed in school and developed a trade or obtained a college degree. Having immigrants come to America is good for the economy. As long as they are not entitled to Social Security or welfare benefits it is also good for the government.

NO ONE is talking about migrant workers! All they are talking about is Steven Colbert.” Beckel, for once, kept his stupid progressive yap shut.

On Colbert’s logic that since he couldn’t do the job of a migrant worker, then that proves no American can. I work as a software engineer. I bet he can’t do my job either. Yet the liberals throw out ideas such as this, and don’t even try to justify the logical. They think we are too stupid to put 2 and 2 together. Since we can, it only makes them look stupid. So here is to El Stupido: Colbert and your ilk.
We have a vested interest in them. We have paid for at least 10 years of their public education to the tune of 100,000 dollars. We should get that money back even if it means they are picking tomatoes rather than illegal immigrants.
How can Congress hold anyone in contempt when they are deserving of every bit of contempt we can muster?
They already have that program in place.
It is called the H-2A program. Here are some of the stipulations placed on employers under this program:

Dead Americans? Not in their upscale well guarded neighborhoods, not on their well guarded routes to work, tax payer funded trips, junkets and retreats. Oh a few thousands residents of the flyover may be killed each year, displaced from their jobs-Job Americans Won’t Do- those poor dead and displaced Americans are but a blip on the Elites radar.

They aren’t mutually exclusive. Most people want the same thing, but it has to start by stopping illegal immigration. You can’t create a new bureaucracy without shutting off the simpler route.
Last week I went to a Veterans Job Networking meeting… there were 5 US Vets, all with carpentry and construction backgrounds, looking for work.
Last month, I had my roof replaced, and the ONLY person who was not a Hispanic, was the Saleperson… most of the roofers did not even speak English.

The California and Texas growers (and even truck farmers in New York) relied on immigrant labor for years. The problem came up when they started making migrant workers eligible for welfare, school and other government benefits. That’s when they began to stay here instead of returning home after the growing season. Up until the ’60s, there weren’t any anchor babies, either. Thank Justice Brennan for that one.
Did it not even occur to you ask that salesperson who was giving you the low bid whether he was employing legal documented workers?
Glenn has a guy on his radio show that has written a book on illegals. He said 1 in 3 kids in TX schools are from illegal here. He said the national of kids in school of illegals was 1 in 4!

I do hope the GOP uses Colbert as an issue in this election, to illustrate the joke the Democrats are. The video is correct on the dangers illegals present as well as their economic destruction of our hospitals, the lower standards of our schools, and the crowding of our jails on the backs of U.S. taxpayers.

Bracero programs worked in the past and they’d work again if given the chance. Polititians forget that murder, rape, and any other type of crime committed by illegal aliens don’t necessarily target republicans. They are an equal opportunity offender. Every day there is another sickening story of what these criminals are doing or have done. If there are no convictions or police records of any previous crimes all the criminals you see daily would be given amnesty. All voters need to join together to rid the country of them, and only after extensive background searches should they be allowed to come back into the country for temporary stays. Their wives and children belong in Mexico, or any other country where they originated.
Americans-black,white,Mexican and all others did all kinds of hard work until they were replaced by illegals. My family did field and other dirt work for generations–my brothers and I were the breakout.
Field work? Temporary workers wouldn’t bother me. But what of the other jobs stolen from Americans?

There are still Americans doing those jobs-and they are under stress to be replaced by illegals. I am not to thrilled by the term but we need Operation Wetback again.

Arizona, right here in Oregon, “stimulus” money paid for forest cleanup. But the work was done by immigrants though hundreds of citizens applied.
In my area, a handful of “massage parlors” have been busted because they had illegal-alien women working as as sex slaves. This video rings very true!

I was gone when they started… by the time I got to the house and saw who was doing what, they had the roof all off, and about half put back…
Moraly I wish I had asked their immigration status… but with only half a roof on, and Denver being known for summer Thunderstorms? I discretioned (chickened out).
Especially when the illegals kill maim or run over American citizens.

Since you’re enamored with people that wantonly break and disregard many US laws, do you mind putting them all up at your house then? I don’t want to do it.
Your basic premise that legal immigration is directly related to, or a function of illegal immigration is faulted at the most basic level.
One simple example: a person in Mexico can obtain a simple tourist visa to come to the US for a rather modest $250-$300 or so and come LEGALLY, yet… about as many come illegally as do come legally. Hmmm, why might that be the case? Maybe those people coming illegally have no chance of getting a visa because their applications would be deemed unworthy — ever think about that? And, if those people truly are unworthy, why would we want them here anyway?
Why the hell would they do that? This is America, I could give a crap less about Mexico or another country…where these thugs and illegals come from.
I understand it was NBC(national broadcasting of crap) the most liberal network. Find the sponsors of the programs and tell me you’ll boycott or have we lost the nerve to do that also?
I sent a copy of the vid to my senators and house rep. course they probably won’t look at it, they are all dyed in the wool lefties, not unusual here in dark blue Oregon.
It’s not only Lofgren and Colbert that needs to answer to this video, but every amnesty pushing politician including the RINO’s.
…not to mention all those who might still have a job paying taxes for welfare and other bennies those cheap laborers might collect.
