Former SEIU prez Andy Stern, other Purple Army officials, under FBI investigation

You know, maybe all those SEIU workers who will be bussed in for the left-wing Washington rally this weekend ought to take a detour and protest at the SEIU headquarters instead.
Fresh off the wires, news of the FBI’s corruption probe of the Purple Army:
The FBI and the U.S. Labor Department are investigating prominent labor leader Andy Stern in their probe of corruption at the Service Employees International Union, according to two people who have been interviewed by federal agents.
The two organized labor officials met with federal agents this summer to answer questions about a six-figure book contract that Stern landed in 2006 and his role in approving money to pay the salary of an SEIU leader in California who allegedly performed no work.
Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the investigation. The FBI and the Labor Department’s office of inspector general declined to comment for the record.
The disclosure about the federal inquiry of Stern – who abruptly resigned as president of the 2.2-million member SEIU in April – comes just weeks ahead of contentious congressional elections in which the union is spending an estimated $44 million to support its favored Democratic candidates.
The SEIU has been plagued with several financial scandals since 2008, when the Los Angeles Times reported that Tyrone Freeman, head of the union’s largest California local, misappropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars from the union. The union ousted Freeman and demanded that he return the money. No federal charges have been filed against him, but SEIU spokeswoman Michelle Ringuette said the union has been cooperating with the FBI.
Regular readers of this blog and readers of Culture of Corruption are already quite familiar with Freeman and his free-spending ways.
Here’s what I noted when Stern resigned in April:
Behind the scenes and under the radar screen, as I’ve reported over the last year, Stern has installed a cadre of labor management stooges embroiled in financial scandals across the country and rankled rank-and-file watchdogs within the Big Labor organization. Obama paid no heed – appointing Stern to the federal joke of a “fiscal responsibility” panel.
And while fatcat union bosses toss hundreds of millions of dues into Democrat coffers, low-wage SEIU members’ pension funds are eroding and the organization’s debt is piling up. The union also remains under investigation by federal prosecutors for potential illegal lobbying activities at the White House.
A nasty fight in San Francisco with a rival union, UNITE HERE, has caused Stern major headaches and litigation costs.
As I reported in December, health care workers in Washington state also revolted against SEIU pressure.
And the Blago scandal, in which Stern plays a central role, still looms.
Union heavies don’t just relinquish their control and throw themselves under the bus for the standard bogus Beltway excuses (the need to “spend more time with family,” etc.).
This smells. Stay tuned.
Big Labor rationalization in 3, 2, 1…It’s all the Tea Party’s fault!

Meanwhile, in Chicago, Jim Hoft reports another SEIU official is under investigation…“for possible connections to overseas terror groups.”

Great news! I hope this slug goes to jail for a long long time. I wonder if holder will stick his nose in this?
L
This has Obama and Rahm written all over it.
Standby to trade in your purple shirt for an orange jumpsuit, Andy.
Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, if it isn’t little Andy. Long time no viddy, droog. How goes? Surprised are you? Want to come clean now?
Andy:Impossible… I don’t believe it.
It kinda puts “Look For the Union Label”in a different light.
The FBI investigates, Commissar Eric Holder dismisses. They had video of the Black Panther thugs and did nothing. As long as Obama and ilk control no real action will be taken. The longer Obama controls the more he will be able to purge and replace FBI and Justice Department “obstacles”. Yes they sort of nailed Blago AFTER leaked tapes and the legislature impeached him. I am not impressed.
Think of the cartoon generals and admirals Clinton was able to elevate during his reign. He did a pretty good job of turning the FBI into a “Kill on Sight” street gang.

Let your sidearm be like American Express:
Don’t Leave home without it.
GOOD STUFF!! Obama’s pals are falling. Will the POTUS be far behind?
Holder won’t get involved. Stern is white. He’ll let him fry.
SUH-WEEEEEET!
Bout time!
This is the same Andy Stern that has been Obama’s most frequent visitor at the White House, right? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
This is just windown dressing for the November elections. “Look at Obama! He’s cleaning up! There’s still Hope(tm)! Vote democrat in November!”
Wait until December. That’s when we find out the FBI couldn’t find any evidence of wrongdoing.
Oops it fell down the rabbit hole.
Unless and until the American people get control of at least one House of congress the corruption will never stop…
You had to know these crooks were so overconfident and full of themselves that they would screw up and get caught eventually. I’m surprised it took so long. I only hope Obama has made the same mistakes and left evidence behind so we can see him on the perp walk one day. This is the way you keep the professional criminal in check and keep them in the public eye.
What are you implying??? The Andy Stern who visited the WH was someone else! They even said so! Someone just signed in using the name Andy Stern all those times. Rememeber? Rev. Wright never visited either. You must get your facts straight!
/sarc off
OR that they fear for their lives. They could get a visit from some Purple Shirted Thugs (or maybe one of Tumka’s boyz).
If Stern isn’t prosecuted and convicted, we always have Crime Inc President Obama to bless Stern with a full pardon.
Oh the dominoes (racist alert!) are lined up and beginning to fall! (munching popcorn)
More cheese Gromit!
Just as with the Marxist insurgency entrenched in our government bureaucracy, there are also Patriots who have long memories and secure evidence. rest assured, the worm will turn.
.
Oh I would love to see a Purple Shirt try that number. Not all FBI men are nancy boys (as ATF likes to call them).
Can a succeeding President rescind another President’s pardon? mmmmm
After the elections, I do hope that someone publishes a study that tracks the SEIU money to specific races. I’d love to see a widely published reporting detailing how union dues got flushed down the toilet backing losing candidates.
Because the retirement funds fell, we the taxpayers in Oregon must make up the difference on our SEIU state and local government workers. Who is making up on my 401K funds that took a hit? People are getting tired of these thugs. We need to privatize many of these jobs and ban the SEIU and NEA from government.
This is the way you destroy communism’s quest for power. Ban unions and taxpayer funding of them and other special interests via government (taxpayer) bailouts. Deny them access to taxpayer monies and they wither and die.
Just as with Blago, it only takes 1 constituent on the jury to thwart justice in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
The crap will really hit the fan when the full realization comes to middle-class Americans that their life savings are being siphoned off by the statist Democrats and their Marxist operatives like SEIU, La Raza, and ACORN. The Great Meltdown of 2008 started it all and began the unravelling of the entire Marxist Democrat scheme.
That is one silver lining to losing my retirement. Maybe the rest of you youngsters can save yours and your children’s.
Soon, no time for a bit of the old in & out.
I just learned of staff at another company in southern California that voted to decertify SEIU.
Chip chip chippin’ away….keep up the great work, Michelle.
Education leads to knowledge; knowledge to power.
TWO Words “Janet Reno”
As someone who is forced to pay Union Dues to the SEIU, this warms my heart. I hope Stern gets many years in the Pen and receives some real punishment when he mouths off (as I know he will) to the wrong guy.

Eric Holder to squelch the investigation in 5…4…3…2…
Nice thought, but if he actually is charged, tried and convicted he’ll probably end up in a country club prison and go home on the weekends with a monitor bracelet at worst.
What I’d like to see is he, and people like him who are convicted of felonies related to their job and/or position, being stripped of financial entitlements and the wealth he’s misappropriated for himself, which I’m sure he’ll continue to collect and enjoy even if in prison.
This was clearly a politically motivated move by the FBI. You have the European communists (aka unions) threatening a Europe-wide strike timed to coincide with a similar threat by the US unions.
Communism never died. The core of communism has always been Europe. The “partisan” resistance in WWII only materialized after Germany attacked Russia and once the war was won, the European governments cut a deal. Now they are lashing out. It started in Greece but is spreading through the continent.
As part of the “workers of the world” uniting, is it just a coincidence that Trumka and Stern are becoming so brazen with their thinly-veiled threats of violence?
IHMO, something big is up and the FBI is probably trying to nip it in the bud.
Alex (Andy Stern) DeLarge: It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Von.
Please, let the FBI become a Purple People Eater:
By the way, I like the use of purple font for this post, Michelle!
Here’s to hoping that the “purple people” of the SEIU leadership
all get eaten up by the FBI!
Is there any chance that this might be just another “Sister Souljah” moment brought to us by the socialists, out of political depseration?
After all, if I am correct, does not the A.G., Holder, ultimately control the FBI?
Anyone here think that B. Hussein Obama and Holder are going to allow the FBI investigation to result in actual, serious legal problems/permanent damage for/to them (Obama and Holder)?
The long and undistinguished career of Jimmy Hoffa proves that union members are the ultimate sheeple and are all too willing to turn a blind eye to corruption.
Naughty, naughty, naughty! You filthy old soomka!
Let the sun shine in!!! Expose, expose, expose!
Alex encounters his old friends, who are now police.]
Alex DeLarge: It’s impossible! I can’t believe it!
Georgie: Evidence of the ol’ glassies! Nothing up our sleeves, no magic little Alex! A job for two who are now of job age! The police!

JIMMY CARTER HOSPITALIZED
Anthony Burgess predicting Obama’s Home Security Force by almost 40 years. Bloods and Crips in official uniforms.
And this just in – isn’t the law grand:
“Despite a finding by the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) general counsel that the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) violated election law when it required local affiliates to contribute to its political action fund, the FEC’s full board nonetheless quietly voted to overrule its staff attorney and dismissed the original complaint — clearing the way for the union to squeeze its locals to amass a $9 million war chest for the next election.”
He must have just found out that not everyone agrees with his assessment of how “successful” his presidency and post-presidency have been.
ECS
I wonder who tipped off Stern, that this was about to break?
Grain of salt red herring is my take on this. If anything is actually done to hold this scum to account it won’t be for a very long time and obambi would
pardon as he is booted out of town in 2 years anyway.
The damage is in place CHECK VOTER ROLLS
Stay focused on election and the last few weeks.
As I said above, this may simply be nothing more than yet another phony “Sister Souljah” moment brought to us by the socialist America-haters.

Do the math. They got nuttin. Just a show to distract and confuse the electorate.
Amazing news. The Chicago house of cards seems to be tumbling down.
Members of the SEIU should demand a refund of their dues.
GO VIKINGS!! Oooopps, wrong thread.
What took so darn long?
