Jihadi commandos in Europe…and on American soil
The national security buzz this weekend centered on “commando-style” plots by jihadists in Europe — possibly targeting airport lobbies.
Thomas Josceyln at Long War Journal shines light on the ties between the new plotters and the al Qaeda Hamburg cell linked to 9/11.
Apparently, some British intel officials are unhappy with how the U.S. leaked the new warning about old info:
European officials again made it clear yesterday they were “irritated” with the US for leaking stories before they could gather more intelligence. There was no evidence that a plot was imminent, and intelligence was described by a well-placed Whitehall official as “ill-defined”.
One of those providing information is an Algerian informant – who may have been behind the decision twice recently to evacuate the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Another possible source is Ahmed Siddiqui, a German arrested by the US in July in Kabul. And last month US Predator drones attacked a suspected plotters’ base in Pakistan’s North Waziristan, close to the border with Afghanistan.
An anonymous Pakistani intelligence officer told the Associated Press last week that the Predator’s hellfire missiles killed Abdul Jabber, a Briton who, with his brother, was allegedly suspected of planning attacks on European cities.
British counter-intelligence officials play down any suggestion of links between the US attacks in Pakistan and intelligence pointing to potential “commando-style” assaults in western Europe. European anti-terror officials, who warned against making any such link, also emphasised they had the same intelligence as the US, since they shared it.
Yesterday’s warning from the state department was part of a move to encourage the US and Europe to speak with one voice after the confusion of the past week. It was initially rumoured that the US would recommend its citizens to stay away from high-profile sites in Europe.
As for the forgotten commando-style attack here on American soil by Nidal Hasan, his Article 32 hearing is scheduled this month and will be open to the public.
And no, DHS has issued no public warnings to American citizens on military bases on American soil about the continuing threats they face from the same breed of Koranic-inspired jihad commandos plotting in Europe.

Mr.Happy2 and I returned from a European trip last week. You could tell somthing was going on, just moving through customs. Leaving from Berlin, everybody got a pat down.
P.S. Everybody going to Berlin should go to the museum near Check Point Charlie and the old Berlin Wall. Makes one think deeply about the abject failure of communism and totalitarian regimes.

Part of the problem civilization has in warring against these barbarians can be found in the article from the Guardian above, where, following dhimmi rules, the the two individuals are referred to as a “German”, and a “Briton”.

It does no good to warn Americans on military bases. Thanks to an Executive Order signed by Slick Willy nobody can carry on a military base. Thus we have another great place (along with most college campuses, hospitals, government buildings, etc) for an armed jihadist to make a name for himself.
I find this pretty amazing when one considers the firepower military members handle on a routine basis. I, for one, was certified to deliver “Crowd Pleasers” (AKA nukes) and yet I can’t carry a sidearm knowing I can be searched at the front gate and have my weapon confiscated.
Around town Mrs. nail49 carries, but she has to leave her “AmEx” (thanks AZ Caveman) at home when she comes to the base.
Remember, when seconds count, the MPs (or Security Forces at Air Force bases) are minutes away!
so, I wonder if this threat could be eliminated by not letting people who visit Pakistan or Afghanistan come to America.
Our Japanese internment camps of the 21st century should be just to house the enemy in their own country on the other side of the world.
We end this threat immediately if we don’t allow travel through Pakistan or Afghanistan if you want to come to America. It costs nothing, nobody dies, and it is 100% effective.

I saw a video of 50 or so big army trucks leaving an Iraqi military hanger while military personnel fired over the heads of the unarmed U.N. Inspectors at the main gate to keep them back. A tarp blew off one of the trucks–the cargo was 2 very large centrifuges–looked like uranium enrichment stuff to me. The trucks and their loads were never found.

He stated that on dark moonless nights–when satellites and recon planes couldn’t get photos–two converted airlines made many flights to Syria. The general didn’t know what the cargos were–but they were marked with skull and crossbones symbols.

Europe’s Nations have never been my model for Countries that have any balls. Plus I think that Sharia-creep has its limitations even in Europe. Look at France’s banning of the bur-qua. But I really see no chance of Sharia becoming anything substantive in America.

Well thats true that decades ago we would have scoffed at some of the things we find “normal” or accepted today. But I just dont see this Country allowing some of its citizens to be brutalized by the practices of Sharia law…stoning, caning, whipping, honor killings, rape etc. Seems like a line that we cannot cross. At least I would hope that is the case.

Over at the NY Times, Nick Kristof apologized on behalf of the United States to the Muslim world. Not to be outdone, Frank Rich (who usually writes about costume designs and wardrobes) announced that Republicans want to wage war with Muslims. Nick Kristof is the same guy who bragged that when he was “stopped” by Iranian secret police (it would have been a lovefest), he told the Iranians not to worry because he (Nick) would never work for Bush or Sharon. At the Times, nothing has changed since the days of Walter Duranty, who remains a hero to the Times staff.

The day after the votes were counted, and he was the President-elect, I, myself, bought a nine-mil and a .22, and Mr. FirstShirt bought a DesertEagle (the Hebrews know how to make a hand gun!!). Anyway, approximately 60 million Americans own, as a minimum, one weapon. So, if push comes to shove, this Administration better think about what they’re doing, or they will be facing The Boys in Company Burbs, and there will be hell to pay.
