Out: James Jones; In: Tom Donilon

By Michelle Malkin  •  October 8, 2010 10:16 AM

This one is no surprise: AP reports this morning that Obama national security adviser James Jones will announce his resignation today. He had been expected to bolt by year’s end amid controversy over his tough criticism of Team Obama in Bob Woodward’s latest book.

His replacement? Carter/Clinton operative Thomas Donilon:

Mr. Donilon began as young political operative for President Jimmy Carter and later was chief of staff for Secretary of State Warren Christopher in the Clinton administration. He has long operated in the area between politics and national security. He coached Mr. Obama on foreign policy for his debates during the 2008 presidential campaign.

As deputy national security adviser, he has urged what he calls a “re-balancing” of American foreign policy to rapidly disengage American forces in Iraq and to focus more on China, Iran and other emerging challenges. In the Afghanistan-Pakistan review, he argued that the United States could not engage in what he termed “endless war,” and has strongly defended Mr. Obama’s decision to declare that troops will begin leaving Afghanistan next summer.

Culture of Corruption readers know Donilon from his crony ties to Chicago subprime queen Penny Pritzer. He was also a top Fannie Mae lobbyist and consultant to financial giants Goldman Sachs and Citigroup.

Same old, same old.

Huh? Why? So they can show the world how we can vacillate and cowtow to the really bad actors? This administration is truly an embarrassment and a tragedy for America and the world. We have yet to see the final results of their incompetence.

Its been long overdue…at least since they eagerly abandoned South Vietnam and SE Asia to communism and its buchery.

Actually, their symbol should be a SKUNK with a yellow streak, with appolgies to skunks.

I don’t have a problem with leaving Afghanistan next year. As long as we’re leaving it via Pakistan on our way to meet up with the Indian army the way we met the soviet army in Berlin. With total destruction in our path and the enemy crushed in between. That’s how you win a war in 18 months.

In other words, tell the U.N. to s.t.f.u. and take the fight to the enemy, and then fight to win. Or just come home, and keep trying to defend ourselves from the enemy we’ve allowed in on student visas.

    Oh, and drill baby drill.

What a brilliant move…putting a Politico in that position in the National Security Council? Are you kidding me?

Yeah, having civilians with little or no military experience in charge of a national securtiy group makes perfect sense.

For the record, don’t expect an outcome much different that what happened in Vietnam…the last time civilians had that much influence in national securtiy matters.

Those in the military need to watch their behinds, now, more than ever!

That’s happens when you flush; everything circles around until it gets to the middle — The Big O. Which in this case, all it does is to concentrate the corruption. This does have a good side because it makes it easier to find.
