This Meeting of Barack & Joe’s Mutual Admiration Society Will Now Come to Order

After the year the country’s had, it’s apparent that Obama and Biden have only two things left: denial and each other:

“This guy has a backbone like a ramrod,” Biden said while introducing Obama, adding that he has “a brain bigger than his skull and a heart to match both.”

You’ll not find a bigger brain in any of the 58 states. Biden’s mistaking the “TOTUS pole” for a backbone, which is a common mistake in Washington.

That was some seriously shovel-ready Biden BS, but President Obama returned the favor nonetheless:

Obama took the stage to a hardy ovation from the crowd and said, “I’ve had to make a lot of decisions over the last 24 months …The single best decision I have made was selecting Joe Biden as my running mate.”

Sadly, I’m forced to agree.

It was easy to forget that the two were in Delaware campaigning for Harry Reid’s pet, Chris Coons, whose numbers will probably drop now. A campaign visit from President Obama often does to your lead what a visit from Michael Moore does to the contents of your refrigerator.

When I mentioned on Twitter that Obama said the single best decision he’s made was selecting Biden as his running mate, someone thought there might have been a better one:

Wouldn’t those conditions be fatal? Joe should leave the metaphors alone for awhile.

letget: I doubt that Rice would be thinking of joining the administration. Her area of expertise is in the field of Soviet and Eastern European affairs so she is probably just one of many discussing foreign policy with the president.

I think the key with Hillary is that the Kennedy stranglehold on the Democratic Party is now ended. The Clintons are now the dominant force via the Democratic Leadership Council. There is just no way that I can see Obama running in 2012. His own party has given up on him and the Kennedy machine that got him elected is greatly diminished. Even Howard Dean, DNC Chair, is rattling his sword.

There really is no one in the Democratic wings that I can see who could mount a viable run for president
in 2012 and the GOP is walking right into what she needs: “Miss me yet?” and “Roll back spending/budget/whatever to 2008″.

That is why it is absolutely essential that we rip right into the GOP leadership on November 3 rather than celebrate the Republican “victory”. We didn’t go through everything we just went through since 2006 just to end up right where we started. The unrepentant GOP leadership being restored next month is the same one we were fighting against the whole time.

I don’t think Condi is going for V.P.–Dick Morris thought that she would “save” us from Hillary in a book he wrote.
    ***
But she brings a lot of class wherever she goes. As does John Bolton. As does Sarah Palin. As does Michelle Bachman. Strong conservatives all–and they will work for the American People.

I read the story on Drudge yesterday about Condi being in the WH conversing with Limpy. The WH may need a special one time envoy to sort out some of the poor relations this admin has enjoyed with Russia, which is basically ignored by them. Condi has class and dignity, where Hillary prides herself on being a steamrolling combatant.

;) If Limpy ever feels threatened by Hillary, I’m guessing some kind of scandal/internal struggle/dereliction of duty will surface and be cause for firing. She forgets Limpy is in the driver’s seat at the moment and she serves at his whims. He so knows how to get rid of an opponent.

I don’t know what to make of this from a Condi speech at Aspen Institute last night:

Rice rolled her eyes at the notion that Obama is a closet Muslim, and she defended him from criticism – led by former vice president Richard B. Cheney – that Obama had weakened the country. “Nothing in this president’s methods suggests this president is other than a defender of America’s interests,” Rice told an audience that included presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett.

Not exactly what I would think would be an artful dodge…

…the feedback I got, and the things I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears, it was a terrible letdown. This is not 2008 anymore, not by a long shot. For most of the last year, you want to know what question keeps playing in my head?

    Q: What question was that?

WHAT THE HELL HAVE WE DONE? Now that may come off terribly disrespectful to the president, but so be it. What have we done? We were led to believe this man was one thing, but everything I have seen, heard, and understand, points to the indisputable fact he is not what we hoped for. Not what we were promised. Maybe he might have been. Maybe a full term or two in the Senate and he would have had the experience and maturity to handle the job of President of the United States. But right now – the man is simply not up to the task, and yet it is loyal Democrats who are paying the price for his incompetence and incoherence. The health care bill? Do you know I was told he has never read the bill? Not one part of it? NOT ONE. Sounds like something you would hear on one of the talk radio shows, right? And I wouldn’t normally consider such a possibility, but this came directly from one of those good Democrats who might now see their political careers ended because they supported that bill and now its being used against them like some political sledgehammer. How is that supposed to make someone who put their career on the line feel? Betrayed. A whole lot of us are feeling betrayed these days…

    1) Wake up and smell the coffee. Some of us saw Obama for what he is well over two and half years ago, but you wouldn’t listen to us then.

    2) Perhaps instead of crying about “feeling betrayed”, those Congresspeople should have read the bill themselves before they voted on it. Stop blaming Obama for not having read the bill, if you haven’t read it yourself. You betrayed those whom you represent when you ignored their objections and voted for this monstrosity of a bill that you had not even read. And you did that because you were too weak to stand up to Obama. Well, Boo Freakin’ Hoo. You deserve to lose your job.
