Biden booed in Philly, shunned in Wisconsin

He brags often and loudly about being a son of Pennsylvania. But Joe Biden’s Scranton yarns didn’t protect him from a typical Philly welcome.
A Washington Post sports writer notes that Phillies fans booed Biden during Sunday’s baseball game.
And a reader e-mailed me last night:
My son (26, a good Republican) was at the Philadelphia Phillies play off game last night, 10/16/2010, in Philadelphia. He told me the following:
Joe Biden was there and when his image appeared on the screen, a smattering of clapping started but it was then replaced with booing that proceeded to get louder and louder. Everyone around him was booing as loud as they could. Then after it stopped, conversations all around him started about Obama, Pelosi and healthcare, etc. He reminded me that the members of the audience were not just from Philadelphia City but from surrounding counties in PA and NJ. His entourage then cleared a path through traffic making it far worse and delaying all which then cemented in the minds of the fans the elitism of government officials. Gotta hope it is a sign of the election to come. Obama did this in NJ right before the Christie election in the Camden area the night of a game in Philly, making everyone late for the game and annoying all ticket holders from New Jersey.
It should be noted, of course, that Philly sports fans are equal-opportunity when it comes to their derision of politicians. And this is, after all, how we Philly-born people roll:
But Scranton Joe’s unpopularity does seem to be an emerging midterm election theme:
Reader Eric e-mails from Wisconsin: “At Biden’s trip to Milwaukee last week to help campaign for Congressman Steve Kagen he drew a whopping 80 people. Also, quite interesting that the fundraiser was held in Milwaukee rather than in Kagen’s district over 100 miles away.”

Considering that the overwhelming majority of Philadelphians (living and dead) voted for ObamaBiden, this is a very telling reaction. If I was there, I probably would’ve been thrown out for swearing!

How refreshing it is when the public comes to its senses and realizes what the truth is and has always been. I have no sympathy for Biden. He deserves every boo.

I’d forgotten about Joe the Home Depot guy. Someone needs to get him to read this blistering op-ed.
Off topic but interesting, last night WA ST had their last Senatorial debate between Dino Rossi and Patty Murray. When Murray had a chance to ask a question of Rossi she had a little bit of a Fruedian slip. She actually said that she wants to extend the Marriage Penalty and the AMT.
I am guessing she meant that she wanted to extend the marriage tax break and forgo the AMT, but that is not what she said. I would love to see Rossi come out with an ad asking what she meant and replay the soundbite. He could then go on to say she either meant what she said or is utterly confused about the issue, either way it shows her in a bad light.
Now THAT’S a big #$&* deal!

Home Depot would probably be a good career for ol’ Joe. But, I’d only ask him what aisle the nails were in. I wouldn’t trust him for any other information.

As a voter in Wilmington, Delaware, I can tell you that nobody I know who actually knows Joe Biden likes him. Good thing they didn’t hand out free “D” batteries to attendees. And all the people I know who have coveted Phillies playoff tix are part of companies who have season tickets, and usually at the level in their companies where they know the damage this Congress and administration are doing, that will take years to undo if it’s ever undone. If I had seen JoeB at Home Depot, I would ask him to show me the giant toilet that’s sucking our country down into the sewer.

Although it’d be heartwarming to see Home Depot employing the mentally challenged, still if I’d seen Joe working at Home Depot, I’d leave and do my shopping at Lowes.

Obama is coming to Communist Portland on Wednesday to stump for gubenatorial candidate, John Kitzhaber, who wasn’t satisfied with the way he screwed up the state 8 years ago, so now he’s running again. And of course the idiot sheep in Portland will all vote for him again because he has a (D) after his name. So Obama’s visit may be a huge blessing for the R challenger, Chris Dudley – I’m really hoping Willamette Valley voters will get a clue and vote Dudley along with the rest of the state. I’m mostly curious what will happen Wednesday – the rally is in Portland, probably they figured Obama would be safe here. But I hope there is some loud booing anyway.
Joe Biden, as Vice President, does not deserve our boos, what he does deserve is respectful…silence.
